MAKE IT HAPPEN MONDAY

isnt' it great how we all have been thinking of what we loved and getting back to it! It's so easy to get caught up with all that you are supposed to do and forget the fun in it and in the day. When you work with little ones - you teach through play but with dgirls gone for the last 2 weeks and not working in a preschool right now, it made me realize I wasn't taking time with my idea of play and fun!

Cheering us all on as we find what we love to do. What's easy: spending time with my dh and dgirls but I realize I wasn't taking time for what I love besides that time. I love cooking and dd younger and I take time to learn and do this hobby with yearly goals.

I love reading
I love the outdoors
I love teaching

what I used to love: racquetball, moving around physically, be outdoors walking my dogs in the woods, swimming, training the dogs, exploring nature (wetlands by us) and lake Michigan

Gift I gave myself last year that I did and it made me happy: I went sailing a couple times and went boating.(I rented someone to sail us (I thought it would be expensive but it wasn't) (depends where you go of course)

what I do is mostly sit down stuff - go to dinner, go to movies, sew etc... it's great but I miss the movement.

I am also trying to figure out what my natural gifts are and adding them in the calendar during the year

I'm hoping to do the thing I like, which is read. I'd given most of that up last year for my sewing, and I'd like to get back to the library...if I can find time. But I won't bring home stacks like I used to, I'll just get one or 2 at a time.

Tried to say hello here a couple times. I just keep getting interrupted. Phone calls mostly. Slept in today as DDog had me up in the middle of the night to take her out. She was very nervous for some reason and I had her out a couple more times in the evening and then at 4:00 AM. NOW she is resting and sleeping quietly.

I want to do some paperwork and then make a trip to the county office and I need to go visit my ladies at the nursing homes, but probably tomorrow for that...and I still need to type up minutes because we have a meeting tomorrow evening. (Thinking of Dee here working hard on her report). Better get back to it..

I am doing what I love to do - cooking. I sliced up the ham and have it packaged to make sandwiches. Them I cooked up the bone in the pressure cooker and made some really wonderful stock to make bean soup. I took the rest of the ham off the bone and cut it fine to put in the soup.

Also washed up yesterdays dishes (not what I love to do).

Phone call to order granite counter tops went well. I will have the counter top and my island all for about $500 with some pieces left over for some shelves.

Contractor came by to measure window which will be special order size. I also gave him a key for when he will be working.

Next up is to empty fridge into garage and MH.

I enjoy cooking too! I like trying new recipes. Sometimes, though, cooking is a chore for me if there is a time pressure. I also really enjoy having people over; I've learned that about myself during my adult years. However, like anything probably, I can burn out on it. 7x in the last 2 weeks was just a bit too much. I'm happy to have some quiet evenings this week. I've also picked up my knitting again -- I think I've mentioned that here before. I wouldn't say I'm a craftsy person by a long shot, but it does feel nice to make something with my hands, and I've been enjoying that activity.

Done:
x groc. store - bought a huge amount of groceries. I came home to have ds inform me that we are out of bread. Ergh.
x groceries all put away
x had more lunch; 8 points ingested so far today
x ds found a coat he liked online while I was out
x measured ds and ordered the coat. As I thought, he is a men's M - but he has long arms so he needs a tall size. Tall Medium; almost sounds like an oxymoron!
x called the company b/c I used the credit card that I had closed out a couple months ago; gave them a different cc number
x cut up the offending cc and threw it in the garbage. Why didn't I do that 2 months ago when I closed the account?

Now, ds and I are heading out to buy his textbooks. REALLY hoping parking won't be a big problem.

Is something going on with Ivy? I haven't seen her here for a while? and several of you have mentioned her.

DD emailed me that she'd "try" to help me when she gets home with my computer formatting problem. Failing that, I'm not sure what my next step will be. I don't remember having this problem last year. hrmmphh! Have thought about emailing 1 report file at a time and letting the secretary print them and then copy it on the machine. She'll have the table of contents so will know which order to put them in if we need to go that route. Hoping maybe next year someone else will decide they want to take this over -that will still leave me with doing reports next January. Might be time for me to retire. See by the nominating committee report that our moderator has -he's been in that position for at least a dozen (if not more) years and I've held this one -uh, I'm probably an antique now.

This has set here for quite some time. Just got the final report (other than the financial which I will plan on later this week).

Have to go buy potatoes so I can use the leftover ham in scalloped potatoes for dinner. Maybe I'll take a rest for an hour.

I looked to 'see', Helia, and Ivy was last here last Tuesday evening. Know she mentioned her daughter having contractions which they (medical team) were trying to slow or stop.

I've been missing Ivy too. Looking forward to her return.

Paper stack has been GREATLY reduced. I brought 5 accounts up-to-date.

I decided to send Ivy a PM. Hopefully we will hear from her soon.

If I get a shower I need to go mail 3 birthday cards.

I still haven't had my shower. Last week dd1 and dgd16 asked me to buy dgd16 a phone off of ebay, because we have a Paypal acct. Then on Friday, dgd16 asked me to buy one for her friend. I should have refused but didn't. Anyway it has been a mess ever since. I sent all these emails and the person wasn't answering them. They were checking in the wrong place but finally this am we have had multiple communications. He ended up dropping the price due the confusion. I told him that I appreciated that because this girl goes to school and works many hours at the movie theatre so that she can contribute to the family budget. I will breathe easy once I have the tracking number. Dgd16s phone came on Saturday. She was being a brat to her mom, so I with held it until today. She brought me her money and her friends. I was happy to tell her that her friend received a discount.

Dd2 told me today that dgd16 broke up with her boyfriend of 16 months last night. Now we hope it sticks. He glazes and loads the kiln for dd2. She has caught him several times, outside and on the phone, acting sneaky. One of those times, she called dgd16 to see if she had talked to him that day and she hadn't. While dgd16 was in the hospital, he would make appearances but not stay for any length of time. Used to he would have stayed too long. He has started yelling at her, being grumpy, etc. Dd2 has been irritated at him because he called dds ex and told him that he didn't think that dd2 was doing enough for dgd16 while she was having pain after the surgery. Several months ago, I made a comment to him about something in passing and he blew it up to dd2 and made her think I was mad and had said things that I hadn't. After that, I have just about said hi and bye to him and not much else. I did not appreciate it at all. When dgd16 told her mom that she had broke up with him, she told her that he had started acting too much like her dad. Dgd16 boyfriend had isolated her from her friends, because he is so jealous. Anyway dgd16 decided that with the new semester starting, it was time to make a clean break. Like I said dd2 and I are just hoping it sticks.

I better hit that shower so I can get to the PO. So I guess I will be running the other errands tomorrow.

Lots of dusting done in our master bedroom and declutter continues, too. The bureau is clear and neat, and so are the exercise DVDs I can use in that room. Also work in dining area. Miscellaneous towels are washed and in the dryer.

Really slowing down. Got home with ds at about 4 pm and then spent an hour basically visiting w/ dkids. I am just back from taking dd14 to synchro. I forgot to pick up a script for dd17 at Walgreens but traffic is awful and I'll do that later.

I'm off to get dinner going. Chicken cacciatore which we'll eat over rice (dh prefers rice to pasta), veggie of some sort - maybe a salad, whole grain rolls.
