Last night DsonIL asked gd to pick her plate up off the floor (she'd given it to the dlab) and she told him she didn't want to. I froze for a second. When he asked her "why" -her response: "because you ask too much of me". ReallY?? It was most likely the only thing he has asked her to do in at least 10 days! Oh, the attitude. As she was getting some bread with the loaf hanging over the counter, of course it started to spill it's contents -and when DD simply said, T---! Her response that it was "annoying" to her to have anyone say anything to her. VENT over. Now we get to take her to school for the day.
We're leaving in 20 minutes to take gd. Then dh has to meet dbil at our church to go on the roof. We voted last week to replace a supposedly much needed roof over the sanctuary. Vote was for a metal roof and there is one who is dead set against that and wondering if a roof is needed at all (in fact he wants a re-vote). DBIL & DH have done contract work for some time, so they were asked for their opinion.
I have a women's meeting at church at 9:30, so am going to take my computer with me and try to work on reports.
Hear gd already texting this morning! Unfortunately the friend she had over during Christmas break and she went over there for a couple of nights -is no longer allowed to see her. Not surprising. Sounds like some controlling and then bullying going on.
I woke-up twice last night (actually early this morning, first because of my shoulder, and then when my stomach was hurting. I think my stomach hurt because I took pain meds on an empty stomach, I got up drank some water and was able to go back to bed.
Ha, I have 3 of them! But from our experience, teens need different discipline methods than young children, though the principles and goals, which OK nicely outlined, are likely the same. Of course, that depends on each child. I deeply admire and respect Dee's dd and dsil for adopting her.
