I am in the process of a total house clean and reorganization.

I guess I am, too, but my 2013 resolution is that I remain in this mode through the year. At this point early in the year, the SPECIAL still applies to make that resolution part of a special day, but I know that with circumstances, etc., the special part isn't there every day, and so I hope that when days seem ordinary or even weary, I will still hang on with my resolve.

Anyway the special part of this Sunday, at least, has been being on track. Normalcy. Not just being there, only, but more important - noticing.

I came across special photos still waiting for my time - HRH's family photos. Saw that I had pulled 2 out in the past and put them into a baggie on top because they were the most important in my mind then. I made a note (stopping right then would have been sidetracking) and today had HRH scan them.
lucylee, one is his grandfather (who played in the backup group or "house band" at the Opry), on one of the trips there through the mountains, playing his guitar by the side of the road. I'm going to have a 5x7 made, if it will reproduce well at that size, and frame it for dd's room, now that she is playing. Tell your ds I found notes with it from his son, that it is his Gibson guitar he always played, and that the reason the family no longer has his mandolin is because when he played backup for Don Reno, Reno liked his mandolin so much that he bought it from him. Wish I could tell your ds that gfil lived a long, healthy life playing, but no, he "learned to drink" from other musicians in Nashville (so the family lore goes), and it turned out he had the tendency toward alcoholism. He died leaving 7 children, youngest 10.

All 5 of the quilts Harmony made in 2012 are photographed in the A, C and N thread.

:D Good Morning, Villagers!

Dee, I can almost "see" you doing the Happy Dance! It'll be so much fun for you to see your family again. ♥

Also, thanks for what you said about memory. When I write a short story, I write myself a note who is who, as far as characters go, so I don't accidentally change their names half-way through and then forget who I was writing about!  But it's a good exercise for using my mind. (I get "Fibro fog".)

Our neighbor-friends called and they're coming over tomorrow afternoon to bring me a gift and b-day card. :) I also decided to not buy those tops at the mall when I saw them on-line. They looked like they're meant for heavy-set older women (which I AM), but don't want to wear that "uniform" look now. ;) I ordered two 100% knit polyester brushed nightgowns, long-sleeved, with button plackets and embroidery. I got one in aqua and one in lilac. It was from b-day $ from a DF. :)

I turned off my dawn simulator, I was tired and slept in. Now I'm running late, but we cleaned house a lot yesterday and DH is watching his Seahawks play. After s2s, I'll clean some more and write. There's not that much left to do. Just sweep the bathrooms and utility room, clean the kitchen counters, dust under the end tables in the GR8 room; I've got a list written and they're coming later tomorrow, which gives us more time.

To Do:
- s2s
- load of towels
- Proofread and send off a story
- write on another story
- read on a book for writers by a writer
- might crochet on my beret, which looks like a slouch hat when on. (Made DD one, tried it on to see how it looked, and it's beautiful in white!)
- might start the curly scarf that was featured on Martha Stewart, which she said is easy-to-do
- will tidy up the main office and my office
- will tidy up the spare room
- spot wash some spots on the fir floor. (Looks like spilled coffee).
- will look through my journal for organizing my house. I read a good book on organizing, then took a journal, wrote each room down in the journal from A through Z, where to organize, declutter, sort, purge, etc..... I'll browse through that because I wanted to be more organized in 2013.
- I want to start a box for a donation, too.

Ta Da:
- took thyroid pill
- had coffee
- read obits (2 pages!)
- did emails
- took my IBS pill, now have to wait a certain amount of time before breakfast
- tidied up 2 bathroom drawers

Have a great day, Everyone! :D

Church was great this morning, but OH SO COLD! All the heaters were going full force which created pockets of warmth that maybe reached 60 degrees here and there. The rest of the spots were 30-50ish temp's. I had layers on that kept me from getting chilled, except for my toes and nose.

DBro, DSis and I had an impromptu meeting before church started. In the last 24 hours, DDad has declared himself unable to walk 10' to go from bathroom to bed and/or to his chair. So he is going to be using wheelchair all the time. DMom parkinsonism challenges makes it VERY hard for her to push the wheelchair especially on padded carpet. So this morning my siblings and I started making plans to removed DParents carpet from their house and either use the existing hard wood flooring or put carpet down that has no padding. One of the challenges will be getting Ddad out of the house while the carpet is being pulled up due to the dust that will be created. All this needs to happen quickly but we haven't nailed down all the details yet.

Lunch at favorite local café was very good - both the food and the company.

It isn't suppose to get above freezing today so about 1/2 of MPB will remain closed all day.

LO is down for his nap. I am taking a small break and then will head to town to spend the afternoon/evening with DGS15, DGS17 & his GF. I have a sack of things to take them.

Back from church, too.

Busy day. Singing went well. Baptism was wonderful (the baby was so cute!) I had 14 in the Sunday School and it went very well considering. Being over prepared really helped. I think food did too (they ate their "bugs.")

Immediately was the board meeting which I chaired. The minister had to leave at 1:20 so I rammed through as much as possible before she left and then we made resolutions that will be voted on after Joint-board on Thursday night (if the minister is not there, we can't make or approve motions under church law.)

We were out of the meeting at 2. I should have sent dh home with someone else but he waited for me and chatted with another stranded spouse.

I took cheese and crackers with me and have had milk, a banana, popcorn and soup since coming home. I'm waiting for the energy from those to kick in and then I'll go outside and enjoy the weather (rain, fog, but warm and the car needs washing!)

Ended up watching "It's Complicated" with dh earlier and never got completely through that round. We have about an hour before we need to leave for supper with dfriends, so I'll get through a little more stuff.

-make the bed
-straighten MBR
-refill meds for the week
-straighten MBR closet, which is a mess
-10 more pieces of paper

Harriett....I dont know that I actually made a 2013 resolution to get this house all done, but I do know that it was past time I did it. I am sort of doing it in two phases. The first one is to get as much cleaned up and cleaned out as I can and get the house to a nice standard. Not that it isn;t nice now, but I am not happy with it, lol. The second phase is going to be a rearranging of the upstairs rooms when DD gets married in June and moves out. The master bedroom will remain the same, but the other three bedrooms are getting moved arpund. There is also the chore of getting DD packed up and moved out. I am sort of starting that as I work room to room. If its not used frquently, but she wants it, it goes into a box to be packed. I can only dream about how 'light' my house will feel when her emormous amount of "stuff" is gone.

The second round didnt goes as well as I had hoped. I am not happy at all with the lack of quality of my TaDa's today. I am tiring very early today. I think Fridays work day is catching up to me. So I am down to just sort of wandering around rather aimlessly. I will finish rehoming the diningroom strays and clean off my desk here. I have one more load of wash and then I am done with that for today. We are eating around 530 and after that I am going to go upstairs and watch tv in bed til I fall asleep. It wont take long I assure you. Tomorrow I am up at 345am, so it is never too early to fall asleep given that.

TaDa's for Today
did not oversleep
meds
email and boards
breakfast
fresh pot of coffee for DD and DH
tithe check
finish up grocery list for DH to take with him
wash up
d2s
gather my laundry
make bed
crack open windows in bedroom
start mine and Dh's laundry
clean kitchen...except floor. will do after DHcomes in
helped DD and dd'sfiance find stuff to reposition the pool cover
ate a yummy lunch
flipped laundry, hung washed clothes that need it
finish a couple of very small chores in the kitchen
clean off and up desk
in progress...rehome all clutter and strays in the diningroom
take down small tables lingering from christmas...took one down
flipped laundry twice
folded two loads
put away all groceries
places order online
refilled med box for week
gathered a bunch of stuff to take upstairs

Mini Round Three
rehome strays in dr
clean up and off desk
gather things needed for morning to take with me
clean and ready work bag
put away my clean clothes and lay out work clothes for morning

OK...off to use what little energy and motivation I have left....BBl

From GoDaddy:

We're aware of an issue within our Web Hosting services impacting some customers. While we're fixing it, you might experience longer than normal phone support hold times. Thanks for your patience.

Resolved January 13, 2013 at 5:53 PM
That's a relief. And now I know where to look to see if it is just us or more widespread. I put in a support ticket but haven't heard from them so am assuming they figured I'd be fixed when the system was fixed.

While the system was down, I took my own advice (in the email I sent to most of you, INE, I haven't added your email to the list yet, nor, probably, Scattered's) and did five things. Or at least some things.

1. Made dinner (roast chicken - tonight and Tuesday's dinner)
2. Supplied the ingredients for dh to make up Shepherd's Pie (tomorrow and Wednesday's dinner.)
3. Made up hamburg chowder (which I'll freeze in single servings to have on Thursdays when dh has Chinese.)
4. Talked on the phone with my music friend, who isn't feeling well and is facing the 10 hour drive tomorrow. I didn't say "I told you so" but I did think it.
5. Learned where to find out if GoDaddy is having general problems or if it is just us.

Did an interim kitchen clean between dinner and my chowder making because I needed counter space and pots cleaned.

Now I have to finish cleaning up the kitchen and get the dishwasher running. Then I might just go off to bed. While the site was going down I was outside cleaning out the inside of the car (which dh washed), tidying and sweeping the garage, and taking down the some of the outside decorations (some will stay up until the snow melts), so I'm pretty tired with all the fresh air. I'm up to 8800 steps so far today.
