Kathryn, it works well enough. Both kids are vigilant about locking the door except that dd sometimes leaves the door locked between the water closet and ds' vanity. When that happens, he has to either wake her up if she's still asleep or go through her room to unlock. For the time that they are expected to be home going forward, it works well enough.

On the "not so great" room, we put in two long windows with a french door in between on the back side of the room going out to the patio, so that further complicates room arrangement.

The cleaning lady did change out the sheets on dd's bed, just did not bring them down, so now I have more laundry to attend to.

I am eating lunch, need to go back upstairs to bag up dd's dirty laundry that is up there and put away a couple more things and I'll consider that room done.

-finish up with dd's room
-look at temple financial statement and print copies on the back of the agenda
-start notes for president's report for meeting
-hang up delicates now in washer, start dd's sheets and some towels in washer

Got a walk in and picked up something from the church.

Will focus on Sunday School now. A new teacher is coming over to pick up the curriculum and learn what is expected of her. So I need to get that down on paper and attach that to the cover of the leader's guide. I really want to use the curriculum but with rotating teachers we need to work together rather than each do our own thing, if only so we know who is doing what each week.

Once again, day not going as planned. But it is OK. . .

I had coffee with dfriend 9 - 11:30. I was the one to say that I needed to leave. Don't get me wrong -- I was not resentful at all. I love getting together with this friend and I always leave our coffee dates feeling very encouraged by her. I respect her and like her a lot; she is the children's ministry director at our church AND one of the teachers on the moms group teaching team. She is a couple years older than me, but she is so godly and wise, the kind of woman who is a natural leader without being pushy or prideful about it. She has a lot of wisdom in working with different people and gives a lot of grace to others. The time just flew by, but I wanted to be at the high school at 11:50.

After coffee, I flew home (I seem to be "flying" a lot lately! LOL!) to use the restroom and grab an apple to eat in the car. I was at the high school from 11:55 - 2. I am just finishing my lunch at 2:55 pm. . . .

Next for me: finish a.m. routine.

Girls should be home in about 50 minutes.

Yes, I agree that Harriet's words to OK's dgs17 were humorous. ((OK)) It must be hard to see parental nonchalance - or even condonement - of unhealthy and potentially negative habits in dgs17. Hopefully, he'll figure out things on his own. Regarding dgs17's friend, great intelligence is not necessarily synonymous with great wisdom, as I know you know. Glad LO is feeling better!

Which floor plan is yours, Twins? I think I've looked at it before, but I can't remember. When we redid our upper bathrooms last spring, we did a WACKY configuration of the bathrooms. We took 2 full baths and made them into 1 full bath + 1 half bath (toilet and sink only) with a door in between. The half bath is off the MBR. I think the shower is now equidistant for us whether we walk through the half bath or we walk out the bedroom door into the full bathroom. Usually there is not a problem with locking or unlocking that door, and honestly, b/c all the kids sleep downstairs (walk out basement - can't tell it's a basement in most rooms) now and there is a nice renovated full bathroom down there too, no one uses the full bathroom on this floor so dh and I usually have both bathrooms to ourselves and pretty much treat the 2 rooms as 1 big room, if that makes sense. . . .

Hi everyone! I am at work doing payroll tasks, taking a lunch/CUOP break. Last night got what I needed to do done. Tonight I need to CALL MY MOM, it is her birthday! Other things to do are: figure out lunches (I have only one left in freezer), fold LOL on drying rack, run sheets load with loud dryer. I need to find out what the menu is for church dinner and decide if I am going or not. If it is cheese filled it is a no-go. I need to work on the border of my crocheted jacket and see if I have enough yarn. It doesn't look good. If it doesn't work out, I can modify the border pattern or perhaps change color. Either one would mean ripping out the border and starting over with it. I have ripped so much on this jacket!!! I am looking forward to doing another project.

Cowinkie, it's in the back corner of the room by the doors to the patio, facing on a diagonal in the room so it can be seen from the kitchen as well. It's on a stand - don't know how big it is, maybe 42 inch?

We have couch facing fireplace (and this is a very deep couch) with two side chairs square to the couch with a table and lap between them. The new couch was supposed to have been delivered by 4 p.m today and nothing is happening, and I need to leave soon.

I see your problem in the great room, Twins. Every house has something not quite right, don't you think? Rest of it is GREAT! I can see nice landscaping right outside the kitchen table area being nice to sit there and look out...

Not much time. I'm working in bedroom today. It's a disaster. I clean one spot then have to tackle another as I move stuff around, all in an attempt to get at the closet which at this point should be walk-in but is not.. and I have stuff laundered and hanging outside...and another quilt to wash... amazing how stuff can get spots on it when it's just sitting in a hope chest..

Hope to BBL.

Elizabeth: thanks for the reminder about call mom. I haven't called my senior friend for a few days so did that before posting here.

I'm making progress on taming some of the church papers. Just finished drawing up the new sign up sheet. If each parent would volunteer one week, they'd only have to do it once every 6 weeks because we have five regularly attending families.

Dinner is heating up now. Good, because I'm hungry.

We need to have a new decorating thread in The Creative Home - haven't had one in a while. Both Lilac and Twins' Mom have mentioned they might want to share photos.

Hmmm... ... OKay, I knew I was grasping at straws, lol, but didn't bargain for that - a friend whose parents just keep offering plenty of resources no matter what. Sigh. How helpful. Also, this young friend has a plan to take tests in the future I assume, like other homeschool students, and get his diploma? So he has several options. Well, maybe he could draft a potential plan for dgs17, starting where he is now.

My dining room is a school zone as dd14 and her girlfriend study for the engineering exam tomorrow. Unusual for me to suggest a study session here, and they will just have to move over when my ddad wants supper. But their teacher has been out sick for several days and some opportunities for asking him questions have been lost. So between the two of them, these girls might be able to fill in some blanks for each other. Other students are ringing in on their phones... ...
