Are you setting your mind to be SUCCESSFUL in whatever you decide to do or tackle today?
Good Morning Villagers!!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful nights sleep and is able to start their day feeling great!!!! Even if you didnt, hopefully, stopping by here will give you the little pick me up you may need or incentive to achieve what ever you endeavour to do today.
I got up at a decent time this morning, but am having a hard time deciding on going to church or not. The weather is not good at all. We have had very high winds all night, and I am sitting here half waiting for the power to go out. Altho, I dont know why my sitting here will stop or prevent anything from hgappening due to the winds.
Either way, I do have rhings I need to get done today. Actually, I DON'T NEED to get them done, but I really want to. It will make my life a whole lot easier this week if I do. My psyche will be much calmer if I do.
Oh my, I just went and looked outside for the first time since the sun came up. Its is looking very very stormy out there. Just made my decison about leaving. Nope, this girl does not willingly go outside in a wind storm with a very angry looking sky.
So, without further adoooooooo.....

Dh just woke up and we took a good look around the yard (thru the windows and on the covered patio). My greenhouse had a panel that is flapping and we lost a roof tile, its sitting out in the side yard. The wind is whipping and gusting to a scary level at times.
He is getting dressed right now to go out to the greenhouse and see if he can secure the panel to prevent more damage. He will also fetch the roof tile I suppose as those are almost impossible to replace as the roof is almost 110 years old. I am going to eat some breakfast and try and calm down. After Hurricane Sandy, I am really anxious with the wind.
Edit to add....The greenhouse panel flew off before dh could get out there. He is now up on a ladder trying to fix it in 70mph wind gusts. What a lovely way to start the day huh?
Try again. Had a post & must have hit the 'onboard' mouse and poof it was gone.
Leaving shortly for DS-A's and family in Kissimmee. Have the makings for waffles & bacon with us. Bacon all cooked, waffles dry & liquid ingredients mixed separately, plates, cups, forks, waffle iron, gallon OJ all with us. Have syrup too. Just got the codes to get in the complex where they're staying. DBIL/DSIL should be here soon.
I'm not geared for this any more. GD has her stereo so loud that it is actually giving me a headache here in the office. She has her door closed and I have the office door closed, but it's just on the other side of the wall. Have to quit and go to our room.
Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for opening the thread, itneverends.
I got up early to write letters and start laundry. Also checked FB so I could wish a friend happy birthweek. Her birthday isn't until Thursday, but it's going to be such a crazy week that by Thursday I probably won't even know my own name.
I see that the sewing newsletter editor has sent me the first draft to proofread. She also wants me to write an additional article. I haven't had enough coffee yet to even think up a topic, let alone write several paragraphs.
I'll work for another couple of hours and then go back to bed for a nap. 4 hours is just not enough sleep.
clean sheets on the bed. dishes are washed
tossed a few things - and a couple of give aways.
bed time here - bath first - a must for me when sheets are clean.
Hope everyone has a successful day.
ine - the wind sounds dangerous and scarey. Hope you and yours stay safe.
Dee - safe traveling.
Just begin. Living this day, today Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do. Look for the good in all.
Dear Sweet Dee. WHY don't they make her turn down the stereo? There are 4 adults in the house - why does the child run it? Sorry if too strong, but maybe some discipline would make things better.
It is still dark here but we went to bed around 8:30. I read until after 11 but am wide awake now. Can't do much as it is too early to turn on the generator and our batteries are low.
Will try to get my blog updated.

I am up, but still feel cruddy. I need to figure out what to clean, but there is no end to the possibilities. I may go to Flylady's site to see what zone she is on and use that as a starting point. I also need to work on school work but am going to wait until later to do that.
Well, Flylady is on the MBRoom, which mine is a disaster so sounds like a good idea. Now to just find some energy. Maybe I should try a shower. Hmmmm a plan is starting to come together.

Ah the sun is shining, the generator is running and my blog is up on time. Today we are thinking of taking a road trip to an off the grid ghost town/saloon/fun place in the desert. It is called the Desert Bar and is up in the hills near Parker, AZ and the Colorado River. There is no electricity there and they use a solar array to provide power. Its just one of those crazy places that crazier RV people go to.
Next up is a quick Navy shower. We only carry about 70 gallons of fresh water with us so we are very sparing with it. I also have to wash dishes. I will harvest the dishwater and use it in the next day or so for flushing the commode. Most water is used twice. We use a lot of baby wipes in between showers.

I'm successfully up and the first church anthem went well. We have 20 minutes before we have to leave for the second service (we only stay until the anthem when we sing on both sides.)
On the way home in the car we heard Praise the Lord (and Pass the Ammunition) on the radio and are now looking into learning it for Remembrance Day Sunday. I'll have to clear it with Worship Committee and perhaps the church Boards, first, though. My reasoning is that we are honouring those who served in the 1940s and this was something they'd listen to. They probably didn't listen to any fancy anthems while over in Europe but I bet they did listen to songs like that on the wireless. On the other hand, there is a lot of irreverence in that song!
The weather here is like INE's. We had the wild wind and what we thought was freezing rain but it turned out to be just hard rain. Then it turned to rain/snow/sleet simultaneously while we had breakfast and is now snow squalls. In the 30 minutes we were in the church our car was covered in snow so we had to brush it off. There was no snow on the drive home and it is in the garage now but I just shut the garage door because the snow started up again and it is blowing into the garage.
We have a steel roof so don't worry about shingles. Not much to fall apart here, our house is only 35 years old and we've got things very battened down for winter since we are usually gone for a month at a time so can't have things flying around while we are gone. The wind here has only gusted to 20 mph so isn't really high but it looks awful when I look outside and see the trees moving. They'll be moving more than usual since they are weighted with snow.
Havent gotten very far on round one yet, bet really preoccupied with whats flyin around outside. Dh did replace the greenhouse panel but we had another tile from the roof fly off. He went to church and I am hearing DD move around upstairs, so I am heading up there to finish round one.
MT....The sun is trying peek out here too, but the wind is still blowing hard.
scattered....Will call ya in a bit
Dee....Enjoy your day and I also too, agree with MT and scattered.
Bookie....I ALWAYS vote for a nap. Rest well.
