K in C that sounds yummy! Looking forward to when I have enough eggs for that!

We are back from church they have grown from 30 to 130 now so that was good news and had some thing like 330 for the Christmas Eve service.
Dgd did not want to go to her class and enjoyed the movie clip that illustrated the sermon. It was on tithing we were glad to take ours and get it in the offering. Got notes from the business meeting last week it was good to look that over. They are anticipating another offer on the building in the near future from the same church that submitted the other one.

Dgd got two eggs today. Will take her to the other grannys this afternoon and get dgson later on. It's movie time now for dgd & H. I will try to get the kitchen spiffed up as it needs that now. Dgson went to church with the other granny and they will go to visit her dad in the nursing home so we will need to give them time for that.

It's 35* here snow is slowly melting very slowly drip drip drip chickens water was all frozen this morning.

Booksaver--I only heard one family story about rationing. My grandmother and her cousin combined their coupons one week to get what they thought was a beautiful roast. It turned out to be beef tongue and they wouldn't eat it. I guess they weren't hungry enough for that.

blessed--I would love to hear any stories you can share with us!

Having a quiet day, except for the howling wind outside. Tonight we have several baptisms at church. Then home for Downton Abbey. Managed to complete one lol. Talked to DD and in-laws.

We got home around 9:30 this morning, after waking up at five a.m. and a 7:20 flight. Ddogs are fine but somewhat needy. I went back to bed this morning (didn't sleep much on plane) and when I got up around noon dh had gone to grocery and stocked up on healthy stuff. Just wishing he had waited to allow me to add some things to list. We walked ddogs and since then have mostly been relaxing. We're watching the ATL - SF game right now; when it's half time I'll go out and do some pooper-scooping in the yard.

We left rain and a little snow here and FL was unseasonably cool as Harmony has noted. Mostly relaxed with these friends - she has Chronic fatigue syndrome and fibro so needs a lot of rest and not too much running around, which was fine with me. Because of the cool weather, we didn't even sit out by the pool. We went to the synagogue on Friday night after eating out with their dd, who is Exec director of synagogue, and then had a fancy schmancy dinner out last night. Wonderfully relaxing few days, hard to return to reality today/tomorrow.

Almost half-time, I will get busy then, perhaps do a handful of other things also.

Oh, they DID make gd turn down the stereo, MT. DSonil was out in his shed at the time and DD was in her end of the house where she couldn't hear it. As soon as she came out that's the first thing I heard. She gets plenty of discipline believe me. She tries to get away with things, but doesn't succeed.

We're back from visiting with ds's family in Kissimmee. They have a nice hotel suite right across the street -easy, easy walk to "Old Town". Walked over there for lunch. DD had a seminar at Disney today. She almost cancelled but it was one she needed to take and it was going to cost her $350 to do it on her own. Saw 2 deer behind the hotel near the swimming pool and a gator in a pond not too far from the fenced swimming pools. DBIL & DSIL went with us so we're back and I don't expect dd & gd till late tonight. Tomorrow we're supposed to meet them at EPCOT. Planning on it.

DS wants us all to come meet them for dinner at a restaurant near to Disney later this week. So we'll see if DBIL/DSIL decide to join us.

Have to relate a 'funny'. Last night dh showed me a fire call up home and I said "that's the fire hall". They have a fairly new one and someone evidently could smell something burning. As it turns out, DS-A was telling us today that this gal called him & wanted him to come investigate. He told her he was in FL but would call the chief (DS is Deputy Chief). So he tried and didn't get him immediately so decided to go through 911 with his transponder. So the the dispatcher put it through as "Strong smell of smoke in a room at 24 ______ St. Called in by 4c32 from Kissimmee, FL". Sure they all got a laugh out of that. Not sure what the burning smell was.

Sure this is a good week for them to be down here but DS's guys will be plenty busy with the kind of weather they're to have. Very cold for sure! Stay warm all you northerners.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Feeling nervous nervous nervous, and a little depressed, -- no reason -- all is well re: ddad, all things considered -- but
:D TA-DA :D
I got myself off the couch...
took allergy shots
washed lunch dishes
wrote check for paper man
& helped dh get the garbage together.

Maybe a good movie will help my state of mind tonight.
Tomorrow is another day.

Dinner was a HUGE success. Dh loved it and the recipe was relatively easy and turned out exactly as advertised.

Here's a link (you have to page down for the recipe):

http://www.thenakedkitchen.net/2012/05/ ... chops.html

The only modification I made was to use garlic salt instead of regular salt. And we cooked them for longer because our chops were 1.75" thick, not .75". I cut a chop in half to make my serving 3 oz. So I have leftovers for me, dh ate his whole chop!

For Christmas, dh gave me a pocket scale that is just a shade bigger than my phone. Because it is battery powered, it is easier to use than our old scale, since the scale can go to the food instead of having to carry the food over to the plugged in scale. And it is so tiny, it takes up no room on counter, unlike the old scale. So I've been good about weighing food these days.

New couch was finally delivered late this afternoon. Looks good, dh doesn't think we've gained any real room, tho.

Grilled chicken and roasted broccoli for supper. Dh cleaned up the kitchen while I walked the ddogs. We went around the circle twice, both times going through the middle once so each lap was 50% longer. I am heading toward bed...tired. Going to be an early morning tomorrow.
