Ah yes, bw2, I knew it was a meat sauce and am impressed by your industriousness today. :D

Long day at work and I'm home and still needing to walk these ddogs. Thirty three degrees right now - cold compared to the temps we've had lately. I had to go to a client's office today and work on straightening out their books and will need to return on Thursday. I have plenty of work now, am reviewing payroll tax returns that another dept prepares. :?
She is dabbling with the game of figuring out beforehand how low she can score on the final and still get an A in a class. . . .
Helia, I think only the smart kids figure this out – the rest are too worried to do the computation. I think I commented earlier on my ds who failed to understand the rules for one of his classes last semester and ended up with a “D” because he didn’t understand that attendance was also part of the grade. This, incidentally, was in a class unrelated to his major.
Harriet, I never realized a hen would lay eggs near fakes!
Yes, I remember my grandmothers having the fake ceramic eggs in the nests for the chickens. Had to pay attention to what was being collected. I'm loving the trip down memory lane.

I won't elaborate, but dfriend in FL got me started reading something I would not have ordinarily read. :? So I am reading a lot, trying to get through it, and neglecting some other things.

I need to make a li&t for tomorrow but don't know if I will. I need to go walk the ddogs (not dear right now!) and then will read more. Tomorrow night I am doing sleep study at hospital for possible apnea. I have some indications that I might have it.

Oy, time to change into warm clothes and take the ddogs out.....

Yes, Ivy, it was cold today. I finally pulled out the fur coat and was kicking myself for suffering at all during the cold spell when I have one. I only had a camisole and a cashmere sweater on today but was lovely and toasty all the time I was outside because of the coat. Yesterday I had an heavy turtleneck and heavy real-wool sweater on and was freezing when outside in my regular coat.

Tonight it goes to -18*F and tomorrow will be a high of -7 but windy so there'll be a windchill. I've gone around and shut all the window coverings to try and keep some of the heat in tonight. On the bright side, tomorrow is supposed to the coldest we've had it in 8 years, although I have a photo of -35*C (-31F) on our weather station that we took before leaving for Perth, Australia since it was +35 there when we arrived and we wanted to prove how cold it was at home.

Tomorrow I have to go grocery shopping. Should have gone today but opted for a nap instead.

Now I need to get moving around because I'm cold. I'm also going to put my dress boots on because they've really been helping keep me warmer. I have a fleece sweater on over top the cashmere now, too. But moving will be the best way to warm up.

sounds fancy but isn't - I think the Italians can make anything sound amazing. lol
Ivy - pancetta is an italian bacon. http://www.finecooking.com/articles/pancetta-bacon.aspx to my meat sauce I also add the left over rinds of parmesan (it gives many italian soups a richer flavor)

dd younger emptied out the dw, now refilled and washing the dishes. counters cleaned, hoping i stay awake enough to empty it out. now for a bit of paper work

It's bringing back a lot of memories for me too, with all the egg talk. We never had fake eggs, but never had a problem with them laying in the boxes either.

I went outside and watered the garden a bit and brought in some broccoli. Made dinner and did dishes.

Did 2 proposals in the office for DH. Waiting a bit to make sure the one went through on the email; he wasn't sure about the address. Need to go make lunches next.

Yes, I guess I do sound like a person with energy. I am sorta running around from one thing to the next, the way I used to do. It's been so long since I've been able to work like this, I'd almost forgotten what it feels like. I'm wondering just how long I was sick before I realized it.

The bathroom is finished and looks wonderful. In those 2 rooms I left a couple things for the next round there, the blinds, fix the curtains, some touch-up paint in the bathroom. But the major cleanout is done. I had a bunch of stuff to throw away today also.

My next space is the dining room, which needs done so I can use the table while I take everything out of the china closet and redo that with some stuff from the kitchen. I have ideas for all the spaces around here!

Oh, I wanted to say today's mail yielded the last 2 things I need for the cpa. I'll look through everything one last time and maybe give him a call tomorrow. Sure glad to have that out of the way.

Wow, that is cold, Kathryn! It is 5.5 outside here right now, but it's supposed to not get below 5 tonight. Hmmm..... Tomorrow, our high is forecast to be 18.

I shut the door on the hens tonight; dh likes to keep it open but I think they'll be warmer with it shut. Obviously, they survived last night with it open, and last night was colder than tonight is forecast to be, but still. . . .

Ah, yes, Twins, dd17 is very smart in that way. She is a schemer, as she herself says; she excels at figuring out how people and systems, usually social ones, work - especially if she can work that to her advantage. :) ((DS)) I hadn't heard of that class issue last semester. The syllabus should spell out clearly expectations for the class. Hope the sleep study goes well.

Ooh, a new semester for Harriet's dd14!! Does that mean much change to her schedule?

Dd14 reminded us that tonight is date night, so I went out with dd14 and dh went out with dd17. Dd14 chose a yummy and inexpensive sushi place on campus. We got a variety of California rolls. They taste good and are low in WW points.

I have been emailing back and forth with dd14's oboe teacher. We got her lesson this week resolved; Friday at 3:30. And then her lesson next week needed to be rescheduled b/c of her teacher's schedule, so we just go that sorted out too.

I'd say this has been a pretty relaxing day over all. I haven't been highly productive. Hopefully, that means I can be super-productive tomorrow. :)

The chickens had fun today they got out twice today the neighbors knocked on the door to let us know that the chickens were out. I got them rounded up and they were out again a couple hours later just before the bus got here I saw that they were out so our grand son helped get them back in
that time. They were scratching in the leaves in the front yard and in the neighbors front yard as well. That house is empty so it was not a
problem. We're still getting eggs yea! Got three today, four yesterday.

Well I need to do hubby's hand wash I dread it b/c my hands are cracked and hurt b/c of this cold weather.

I moved for a bit. I instantly felt warmer when I put on my dress boots.

Dh just finished his conference call. I talked with my music friend who also had kidney surgery today. So I've heard from both of them post-surgery. Did up the dishes while on the phone.

Now to empty the compostor, garbage and recycle. Those involve going to cold places but the compost bin is over full (it has been cold for a while) so has to be done.
