Morning y'all...
Boy, I love sleeping in the cold especially with an eletric blanket and down comforter. When I'm at my mom's house we always sleep with the heat way down...60 and a window cracked. I don't like sheets or pjs. Sweetie on the other hand needs both. Night house temps are something, the only thing really, that we battle over. If I had my way I would turn the night time heat off during the cooler months and have the heat come on 20 minutes prior to getting up. I hate summers because we set the air at 79 and I have to sleep with a fan blowing around me. Can't use the ceiling fan because Sweetie complains about it. There's been times when I've threatened to put our blow up bed outside and sleep there. Since we don't have bugs...too hot for them...it would be doable.
In the past I wore undershirts under my knit sweaters just to keep the chill off, but I was always freezing at work. I fixed that problem this year by buying long-sleeved thermal tops to wear under my sweaters...now why did I wait so long. I own 4 every day cashmere sweaters that I wear over my thermal tops. If I lived in the north I would wear everything cashmere if I could afford it. Its light wear, soft and keeps me warm. The part of my body from my shoulder/neck area is where I tend to get cold. I hate turtle neck shirts. I feel like I am choking in them. However they prevent those drafty feelings around my neck. When I get chilled you'll see me walking around the house with a long scarf wrapped around me. I usually put my electric blanket on high 15 minutes before I go to bed. Once I get in, I turn it off.
Funny story...Willis get to sleep out of the kennel every other night. He's suppose to sleep in his bed on the floor which is right next to me. Every once in awhile he sneaks up on the lower part of my side of the bed and hopes that I don't discover him till morning. The other night he decided to try something different. Instead of choosing the bottom of the bed he got up into the middle part and snuggled up to the curve of my back. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling particularly hot. I keep the controls of the blanket right next to my head and spent most of the night turning the blanket down and wondering why I was still so hot. Turns out Willis' hot body had generated so much heat that it had penetrated the area underneath me. I woke up in a sweat, saw the blanket was completely turned off and Willis sleeping next to me in a ball. Geesh i guess that's why they call them Hot Dogs
I have picked up all footprints, have my working clothes on and am ready to start my house blessing.
I try to be kind to every one every day. I do little things for Sweetie all through the day. I always talk to the clerk at the grocery store....shes usually mean to everyone, but Sweetie has started teasing me about "seeing" my friend when we go in there. I say hi and thank you to everyone...the other day I gave a woman in front of me a 50% off coupon at Hobbie Lobby because her bill was really high and I didn't need it...think I saved her close to $50. Most of the time I don't care if people say anything back. It makes me feel good to do it and thats what I care about. The other day I left the waitress a hugh tip. My friend and I sat at her table for 3 hours talking. I was a waitress for many years, so I understand how the system works. If we had been normal customers we would hve been through in an hour ...that mean she could have turned that table 3 times making tips. Whenever I take up extra time on a table I always compensate for it. Know she was thinking about the tip money she was loosing as we sat there. Bet she had a huge smile on her face when she saw her tip. And that made me happy.
