We've taken time to relax and renew over the weekend, and unfortunately, it's Monday again. What can you do today to give your motivation level a big boost to get the week well underway?People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.

Re: Motivated Monday
Monday morning, and I haven't/didn't get my to dos and priorities sorted out yesterday. By the time I finally ended up walking ddogs and straightening up, I just needed down time and some time to think. I didn't get anything written for temple bulletin, but can probably go to tonight with that. I have some thoughts spinning out - change in seasons, how Judaism is in touch with seasons through our festivals (just celebrated Tu b'shevat) and ending with the info that I will be somewhat out of touch for busy season, but when it ends, will be beginning my last year as temple president with lots to do. Anyway, we'll see where I can go with this. The other thought to weave in is the seasons of life, i.e. young people, young marrieds w or w/o children, with older children, older people - all come and go from our community - and that one that I have depended upon will be leaving us this summer....
Back to work today - I suspect I may need to work every day this week? Tax season hours don't officially start until next week but I don't want to get behind to start. I need to do some mental prioritizing because I picked up two more "tasks" on Thursday afternoon when I was back at the office. At that point I was mentally throwing up my hands and saying "Monday!" and putting my head under the covers.
Going to read the paper quickly and then get busy.

Re: Motivated Monday
thank you for the start Twins
today.
rain has mostly stopped bar the odd shower.
major flooding lots of places.
DBro - hoping the flood height for his riverfront farm stops below his yards, and that he has feed for cattle. Hoping the chook yard is high enough. It will be higher than the 2011 floods on that river. peaking shortly tonight. Upstream city peaked at 20.8metre. Lots are underwater today tonight . the water will stay up a couple of days.
Lots of problems up and down the coast for well over a thousand kilometres. Roof top evacuations of an entire northside of one town, and the evacuation center and city hospital are needing evacuated too in Bundaberg.
3 deaths so far - mostly people driving into water.
a neighbour needed to sandbag. Another would have had basement filled.
Coastal esplanade had 3 ft deep foam blown in from the wild surf. 10m waves out at sea.
dd.1 was finding water inside her home. maybe the wind blew it in under the roof or windows.
dd2 was ok when I checked.
dm had 22" in maybe 3-4 days. She has been out digging drains to try and let the water get away from under the house.
My last habit focus was getting dishes washed daily. I am mostly getting there.
I'm thinking the next habit focus will be about bed times. Last night I turned K and LR light out at 10 and was sound asleep by midnight and slept thru. (after reading for an hour.) I'm not sure how I will state the change as a goal.
Walked 3k today after many days with short token walks. Wouldn't you know - It rained. Luckily I had a brolly. Home and washed and dried dog.
i need to hit the kitchen if I am to get dishes done and be ready for lights out soon.
good night

Twins - Good Morning and thank you for the wonderful quote to start us off, have a great day.
LynLee - stay dry & safe... I assume a "brolly" is an umbrella, I love the different words we "English" speaking countries use to mean the same things.
I am up I think but struggling to wake up. I have an extremely busy week with at least 27 patients to see. My first patient this morning is way out in the county and we are having freezing rain so I am going to have to take it slow.
Tonight I have class and need to get to the grocery store afterward. Yesterday I did not get to everything I wanted to get done partially because the Card-file took longer than I expected and partially due to a headache that forced me to take something and lay down.
ToDo/TaDa's
SDR & GRWR
Work
School (get there early to work on homework)
Groceries
home
Navy project
Bed NLT 11pm
Have a Great Day Villagers

Good Morning!
Twins - Great start! Thank you
I'm eating my breakfast while CUOP. LO did well working his AM cards this morning so he has 17 minutes to watch Curious George before we leave for school run. Thanks to the cards keeping me on track, his school items are packed and ready to go.....nap blanket has been freshly washed, folded and put into his backpack, library book has been read to him, 16 individual fruit/veg drinks along with 2 kinds of cookies are packed to take for his snack day. YES! I have lived through enough times of running around at the last moment to appreciate being *Organized* and ready to go.
LO loved yesterdays birthday party environment so I just looked up what it cost. Eeeks! It is over $200. That would definitely bust our current birthday party budget. I didn't care for the party environment - not only because of the noise and flashing lights, but because the children didn't get to play together. Everyone was going their own way - running from one video game to another. It took us at least 5 minutes to find the birthday boy to say our goodbyes when we were ready to leave. I give it a 1% chance LO will be having his birthday party there. Everyone has an opinion and that is mine.

Re: Motivated Monday
Good morning! Happy Monday!
I am motivated to get to the grocery store as we are now out of milk. I added chocolate to my coffee...not as good, IMO! I have a can of milk (per Indiana), but didn't want to open that yet.
Talked to DS yesterday. He gave me some good advice, saying "Mom, do not argue about important things on the internet!" He is right that no one changes anyone's mind...people just get mad. His comments reminded me of how remarkable it is that there is no nastiness on this site!
Must also get to the post office with DMIL's birthday gift. We had a "wintry mix" overnight, so I will wait for things to melt a little before leaving.
Time for devotions and Bible reading now...

Re: Motivated Monday
I am feeling unmotivated today too, so the quote is very a propos for me too, Twins!
ellly, you reminded me that I got 2 political emails yesterday from friends. Yes, I'll say they are friends, even though they know we don't see eye-to-eye on all political issues. I was quite irritated though; IMHO, that is not what friends do when they respect each other's opinions. Dh is so very level-headed about these things though; in my initial hurt and anger, I told him of a couple possible responses that came to the top of my head, and he just asked me what I thought would be the effect of my responses, what was my purpose - and did I want to become just like these friends - or did I want to be able to love and respect better than they? The frustrating thing for me is both these friends are much older than me; I expect better behavior from those who are older. One is also a church leader (not in our specific church), and that really disappointed me. Yes - I am utterly amazed at this site and how the women here respect and love each other, divergent opinions and all! I know there is a wide range on some issues. It doesn't matter; we're here to love and support each other in our growth as home executives - and as women. Amazing in real life; almost unreal online.
It is a sloppy mess outside; schools that are in session here are closed due to ice. We got a couple more inches snow last night, but it has been warming up, and I think the snow turned to freezing rain in the night. Currently, it is above freezing, and there is dripping everywhere and drizzle from the sky on our 4 or so inches snow - and now some ice. We're supposed to get up to 48 today. Tomorrow, the forecast is for highs around 60.
It is supposed to be back in the 20s, normal for us, by Thursday. Bizarre . . . .I'm curious to see what will really happen.
I read more of my book club book yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, there was a very disturbing 2 page murder scene which has stuck with me. Ugh! It disrupted my sleep a bit last night. I will finish the book today and then the book club is meeting tonight. The way the story is set up, that should be the only disturbing scene; it is the main event that threw the characters (Nigerian and British) together. It is a well-written book, though written by a man through the view point of 2 female characters, one a teenager. He has done a great job, but I think one could still tell that a man had written it. . .I'll see what my friends in the book club think tonight.
Goals for the day:
a.m. routine
pick up dd14 from sleepover at 11:30
menu plan and groc. list
groc. store
finish book
do a little more Hebrew; b/c we didn't meet last week, I should be done with translation work for today. I'll try to get a little ahead, though
more New Year cards in the mail
exercise? --the perennial question
dd14 to synchro; I'll need to drop her off early so I can get to Hebrew
Hebrew 5 - 6
say good bye to dh who is off again on another trip today
pick up dd14 from synchro at 7:40
book club 8 - 9:30-ish at dfriend's house; I will leave early at 9:30.
movie date!! We should be getting a netflix DVD in the mail today of a film that the girls want to watch, and dfriend S should be joining us too around 9:45.
BBL with progress to report!!

Re: Motivated Monday
I'm up. Not moving fast, knee is very sore. I suspect that is from the hike on Saturday. I know I couldn't do the physical hike of Machu Picchu, let alone manage the heights so I'm extra glad I'm not going on that trip.
No treadmill for me today. I did do my ab and back exercises, though.
Yesterday was a bad day for eating so I've written down what I will eat today so that I'm sure I'll stay within the amount of food I'm allowed. There's no flex in my food choices today.
I spent a while tidying the upstairs - putting away the clothes on the drying rack, remaking the guest bed neatly (ds makes it when he leaves but he doesn't do a good job and there's no point changing sheets right now because he'll probably ask to sleep over again soon), putting away the now-dried summer duvets and tidying my own room. I'll do another load of laundry tonight.
I've had my cereal and am having tea now. By flipping the order, I can skip the chocolate and not feel as hard done by. I'm doing my light therapy as well right now.
Heavy snow today, so no sun but it does look pretty when I glance out a window.
We have choir practice at 1:30 but aside from that it is a quiet day at home. Perfect for doing lots of writing. I have minutes to write up from yesterday and then three services to write for February. I've spent enough time thinking about the services and now have to put fingers to keyboard and start writing.

Re: Motivated Monday
I just confirmed the next couple of days are good to visit DSon and family. I'll leave after taking LO to school in the morning. He won't like me going without him AT ALL, but I know he will be just fine with DH. I need to spend some one-on-one Nana time with DGS6 and DGD2 which is impossible if I am also caring for LO. I am always hesitant about leaving DParents ....even for just 24 hours. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a whole 24 hours alone......I am a little giddy with the thought of having 8 hours of driving time in the car all by myself.
That means today is my only day to get things done at home this week. Need to utilize the timer/cards today to stay on track and not let the time slip by.
