Sadness for Harmony's friend and hopes for her future as a page turns.

I hadn't thought of it that way. But, yes, an advanced concept. thank you, blessed. Really, when I ponder it, it could be on a test for advanced homemaking skills. "Host a family of 5, one a toddler, in a house other than your own, but for which you are responsible. They need cleanliness, freshened linens for two beds and a bath, and a refrigerator stocked with the items they can't bring from home. They will want to visit your house often as well, for meals, diaper changing/naps in your bedroom, and family time. Before they arrive, make sure you and your child will be clean, well-dressed and prepared for accompanying them to other destinations or family, and that your child's room is ready in case someone begs for a sleepover. Stock your own refrigerator, remembering everyone doesn't eat the same foods, and don't slack off on your regular caregiving, child care/homework attention, or your own health/fitness goals."

Now I think I'm going to take a nap. No! Continuing general pick-up here. Trash and recyclables to the cans. Second load of laundry right now is dd14's hoodie sweatshirt to match weather this weekend as we do our running around together. My ddad just went to take a nap so I can run the vacuum an continue the work on floors started yesterday. HRH will be present here after dd is home from school, so she and I can come home to the other house and work.

Coffee date with dfriend went much longer than I thought it would - 3 hours. It was good, but I didn't really have 3 hours. . . I didn't track time, which was my fault. Anyhow, I ran to the post office afterward.

Now, it is almost 1:30. I need to leave in 1:40 to take dd14 to her sewing/design lesson. I think I'll just work in the house until then; I might run an errand while dd14 is there, not sure.

Yes, sadness for Harmony's friend is just the way to say it. ((HUGS)) That must be hard to see her going through this.

That IS quite the concept, Harriet, much farther advanced than my current concepts! I don't think dd17's room has been sleepover ready for. . months. She still has sleepovers, though.

Dd17's friend just arrived; it sounds like they are planning on baking something complicated. And her friends 5yo brother will be arriving at 2:40 for the girls to watch. I will be out and about during the time he will be here.

Argh!! Now, dd14 needs to go to JoAnn's to buy a zipper for the swimsuit of a team member which she is repairing. It would have been nice to know this beforehand. So, that will be my afternoon - driving dd14 to JoAnn's and back, driving her to her lesson (I haven't yet decided if I will hang out in the library or go run an errand) and back, and then driving her to and from synchro. She doesn't want to run to JoAnn's en route to her lesson b/c she wants to have the suit finished by synchro tonight; she will only have about 15 minutes at home between her lesson and when we need to leave for synchro.

-OK, she has just agreed to stopping by en route to her lesson. *phew* That saves me 2 trips since JoAnn's is on the way to her lesson.

So, now I have maybe an hour before I need to leave. I'm going to work on a.m. routine stuff and try not to feel grumpy that my day has been scheduled for me.

(((my heart goes to your dear friend harmony))) We see that a lot in our area. many young women looking for established men hence older - my d dad used to say those women and those men also pay the piper - the new wives want families besides the wealth - the women end up with old men in 10 to 20 years. the men here that are in their 60's end up with women who no longer believe that the wife does it all especially with the kids. A girl my oldest dd knew had an 86 year old dad when she was 13. her mom was very very young. The pain and hurt right now is so hard. My prayers are truly with your friend.

- Hung clothes up
- Put dirty laundry in utility room laundry basket
- s2s, dressed, got pain patches on.
- Filled & ran DW
- Novena, Our Father, Prayers, and journal writing
- Trimmed toenails.
- Put the desk files, patterns, etc. in a big box to sort at my leisure. The desk is pretty again, but the box is not.
- I put b-day cards away. Got 35 or so, want to cut up some for scrap booking.
- Dumped trash

To Do:
- Make 2 preemie caps
- Sort the box of files
- Help DH put groceries away when he returns
- Sort mail, when it arrives later.
- MT DW
- Put button gallon jar away.
- Put spools of thread and pin cushion away.
- Walk 30 minutes.
- Try to finish the rest of my started yesterday, house blessing, today.

apple free tart is in the oven, chicken and veggies in fridge with gravy for dd tonight and to bring to dmil later

Well I've done car pool duty got netting for the deck to keep chickens in the back yard I hope if not time to do some re thinking about range time and consider culling the prob. ones are the good layers I think! Got most of the rounded up after an hour or so of range time. The other three can be out till dgson gets here after school to help me round the one in the pen that was out. If not they can go in when the lights come on at dusk. For now they have settled down for nap time.

We made the bed at dd's got a couple things I'd left there and shirt for dgson, fed cats so that's good progress. I got the dust bunnies swept up under the table.

Dd called from Atlanta and is anxious to be home. Said she would call again at the next lay over when both the kids would be here so she could talk to them.

Dgson has a bball game but it's very late for a school night will have to see how he did at school before we know if he is going or not.

Both gkids seemed to have thrived on the one on one time with grand parents and we were able to focus on some things like math and be on time so that helps.

I hope OK is having safe travels today. --I think she is traveling today?

I feel frustrated with my day. I am just home now from dropping off dd14 and then returning a book on tape to the library - and it is a little before 6 pm. I have spent 6:40 out of the house so far today, and I will need to spend another 25 minutes - or more, depending on whether they're running late = picking up dd14 from synchro. If I go to the gym this evening, as I should, that will be another hour out of the house. And I didn't get my GFS errand done. I think my frustration stems mainly from the fact that I didn't know this day would be like this when I got up this morning. Some of this is my fault - I should have kept tabs on the coffee date time better. Also, I should have estimated time out of the house better with the knowledge I did have of errands and driving dd14 around to be done today. The JoAnn run was a surprise but really the only surprise. . . .

I'm tired, that is adding to the grumpiness. I might just veg and enjoy being alone in my house (!) until dd17 gets home from the pregnancy center (where she volunteers). Then, I'll cook up the chicken stove top and finish getting dinner together. I put the baked potatoes in the oven over an hour ago. . . .

I'm reading about Booksaver's weather with interest b/c we seem to get something similar about 24 hours after she does. We had a rainy day today, even had some thunder and lightning. It got up to 55 and a similar high is predicted for tomorrow. The snow is pretty much gone. Thursday, highs are supposed to be back down in the 20s, which is normal for us.

I ran the DW and DH went shopping. I picked up a few things and put away others. I helped him put things away when he got home. He brought home 3 knit caps with 3 matching knit socks, so I won't need to crochet more than the 3 hats done, 3 flower headbands done, and 1 dress done for now for gdg. It's just as well. I can't seem to shake a terribly nauseous stomach this afternoon, even after a 1-hour nap.

I am not going to make it to this meeting. I left work at 5:30 and had to get a new battery for my car key (since dh lost the other one) and pick up ddog food. Got home, fed dogs, then walked them and just walked back in, and meeting is starting right now 15 - 20 min from here. I'm a little put out with dh that he just blew off needing to come home and walk ddogs because he was "so busy" like I'm not busy also. He wants me to work but doesn't want to make an accommodation to assist me.

And I'm just worn out and frustrated. Still have very, very large payroll tax return to review, the bookkeeper for other work that is wanted tomorrow apparently took off today so couldn't answer any questions for us. Phone call that dsis is apparently nearly approved for SSI, but she will receive very little. At least she will qualify for Medicaid. While dh and I might could help her financially, we are very hesitant to do so as there "should be" safety net programs in place that will assist her. We have two kids in college, and are paying bills for her house (taxes, insurance electricity and water) and have paid an attorney a chunk for the legal filings. I'm supposed to call SSA tomorrow (like I have time to hold forever for them) and I'm just feelin' there's not enough of me to go around right now.

I don't know if I mentioned, but also having difficulties with document that dsis signed two weeks ago and inadvertently dated 1/9/12. The social worker who witnessed signed it as 1/9/13 but GA bureaucracy wants me to have it signed all over again.

I didn't mean to turn this into a vent, it just all fell out when I got started.

We are to have strong storms beginning overnight, I think.

I have been sleeping poorly with aching hips and back the last two nights. Tomorrow afternoon I have the appt with the doc for the follow up to the sleep study.
