Good morning villagers!

Wow it's cold here. For us. Mid 50's still. House is chilly, I am still in my flannel PJ's, taking them off to get dressed sounds chilling to me!

I had plans to hose off back porch and clean/hose furniture out there first thing...now it'll wait till it warms up. I need to do a whole house conga. I've been doing focus type work, not the basics. Yesterday as I had furniture pushed out of the way for my ladder, I mopped the family room floor under the rug and under/around the love seat. The rest of that room still needs done.

My February goal is to finish the rest of the house, the decluttering and the focus cleaning. I thought it would have been done by now, but so far I have only the master bedroom and bath, closets, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and family room done. The other 2 bathrooms need done and 2 bedrooms and the office; the porches, the garage (oh my!) and lots of outside work. So it will be a busy month. And there is stuff I left for the next sweep through in each room... I'm trying not to focus on that.

Wow, Nancy, I hope she is alright. There you are with more granny duty. Nice that you are there to step in.

Walked ddogs - I would have been too warm except for just a little bit of wind that chilled me when I went in some directions. I saw postman across the way, so I'm going to ck mailbox. I also need to print off documents before I to - the downside to storing them electronically.

Good morning!

I need to buy groceries today. Didn't make it Tuesday or Wednesday as planned, so I have to do it today.

Dh is really kicking himself that he had to have a custom shower. The shower system we paid so much for has a problem. The drain doesn't line up with the existing drain. If we had just replaced the tub and tiled the walls there would be no problem. Between the cost of the shower system and the shower doors, we are in too far now to change course. So dh is going to call the expensive plumbing company and have them come out for a consultation and estimate to change the drain. He wanted to go with the plumbing company dd2 has used. She says that if the top guy does the work you are fine, if others do it, forget it. After she paid over $1000.00 for work at her business, the last work left her with a leak. She was so irritated that she called another plumber. He charged her $100.00 to tighten a pipe. Her advice was go for the expensive plumbing company that will do it right the first time and quickly. She said the only reason she hasn't used our company is because they put her on a waiting list, since she hasn't done business with them. Usually she needs it done ASAP and doesn't want to to wait, so goes with someone else. Just yesterday our paper printed the results of their favorite businesses poll that they had conducted. Dd2s first company is listed 1st and she doesn't know how. Anyway, at each new step in the process, we run into issues. It is slowing us down, but the end results should be worth it, due to the fact that dh is doing it right and not cutting corners.

Yesterday after school, I went with dd2 to take the 4 youngest to buy them new shoes. By the time we were done, it was cutting it close, timewise, to get to their house so the boys could change into clothes for basketball practice and she needed gas. So rather than having her take the time to take me home, I told her I would just go with her. Their practice is at the school across the street from my house. As we drove up to side entrance to the school, I could see a pickup in front of my house. I knew that dh must have had someone from work look at the drain situation. I hadn't felt real good yesterday and hadn't made the bed. I made the comment that "oh no, my bed isn't made". Dd2 thought that was no big deal, but they had to go in my bedroom to get to the master bath. Oh well, that will teach me.

The morning is getting away from me, so I better hit the shower.....

My computer is acting stupid today. I had to reboot it to get Evernote to sync so I could print some of these documents. Still printing now, then I will head out.

Good Morning!

I am attempting to get back on schedule. Everything seems to be in chaos at this moment. Makes me think of that "Well, Today I didn't do it" funny. Just taking care of the daily routine things keeps the home from turning into shambles. When that isn't done for a couple of days it's not good.

I'm seeing results of being away for 3 days everywhere I turn ..... When i took LO to school this morning his teacher pulled me aside and said LO has been stressing this week. He isn't finishing his work and had to give up his free time to finish it. She said that a couple of times he was actually physically shaking because he was so stressed. I told her that I had been gone to visit the other grandchildren and his routine had been all out of whack. LO doesn't handle change well. He was a horrible traveler when he was younger and would get physically sick every time. He likes order. Hopefully as LO gets older he will be able to deal with change. He can't expect not to face change, it is part of life and he needs learn to relax and not to melt down.

good morning! Love all the quotes today!

I slept late today. Need to make lasagna for tonight and might go to library. They have a new book sale room...not that I need books, but you never know what might be there! So pleased with my cleaning yesterday. Also moved a couple of lamps. Now my cozy reading corner looks even more inviting!

Will try to "just begin" as DEE says and file a few papers. Why do I let them pile up??? Maybe DH can get taxes done early if I get the papers in order...

Small miracle yesterday...toilet wouldn't flush and DH had just the part to fix it. It needed a new flapper valve. That is one time his spare parts collection came in handy!

Happy February to all!

Waving to every one.
My lower back has been out and is gradually getting better so that is a relief! Yea for improvement.
First round done;
Breakfast & s2s done.
I've folded the last load of laundry but I still need to put it away.
I've spiffed the living room.
Dishes just finished.
Now I'm trying to decide on exercise it's foggy and damp looking out here this morning and a bit cool for a walk yet.

H. was stressed last night filling out some 14 page farm census [ick] SO glad I did not have to do that he's put it off that did not help any.

Breathe ~ the house is quiet for a few min. before I have granny duty errands etc.

(((Poor little one))) I don't like change either.

I'm slow going this morning. Did make the bed and then realized it was Friday so stripped and remade it with clean sheets. But aside from that and devotions, I've not got much done.

Had to create a 'cover my butt' email in response to the snarky one I got. Another church member asked what the background was to the snarky remark. I haven't spoken to the sender in over a year and have sent just 10 emails in the last 15 months so I made up a copy of the contents of all 10 and sent them back to the person requiring about background. They range from 'thank you for sending me the financials for the annual report' to 'thank you for the invite to your house warming, but it is on the night of a church supper and we may be too tired to come.' Oh, and how to hook up a projector to her computer (in response to a phone message from her.) Really, there's nothing to show why she dislikes me so much, but she does (which is why there is so little communication between us - I don't say a word to her if I can avoid it.)

The minister called to talk about it too, wanting to know if there was background and to make sure I'm ok.

I must say it makes the decision to move away from here a lot easier, even when everyone is being so supportive. The weird thing is that this person has disconnected entirely with the congregations but still seems intent on causing trouble amongst us.

I found the perfect apartment in the perfect location (except for height) so dh and I are day-dreaming about that. I've sent an email inquiring about when we need to go on a waiting list since there are no vacancies for that unit coming up. Not sure how many they have of that floor plan in the building. Dh was wondering about a church in the area and I mentioned Dominion Chalmers was close and he started to get excited (that's where the mass choir sang in the summer.) It is a HUGE church building and used for all kinds of concerts, etc. but the congregation is small and active in the street community in the area. It would be quite the switch to be focusing on the social gospel and putting the Word into action. Dh had said that he liked being a big fish in a small pond and didn't want to give up our church but I pointed out that a downtown church might still be a small pond.
