I'm actually doing the laundry today.

Sheets are in the dryer and first load of towels are in the washer.

Of course as soon as I started the laundry, dh decided he had to finally cook breakfast, so I have to work around him... (I store the laundry supplies on the kitchen counter until I'm finished with each one and then they get put away. Sounds silly but it works.)

Books - I have been working on that too, was actually able to say "No" at work Thursday and then had the pleasure of my Boss and Lead RN back my decision.

Twins - Sounds like a fun night last night, I too am dreading Monday and the work week... I have almost as many patients to see this coming week as last week.

Cathy - I should do Laundry but I just don't wanna.

I promised myself a "day off" today, so far I am not sticking to that. I have been working on Navy Taskers since I got up. I am now wanting to take a nap. I bought some hair color that was on clearance and am thinking that I may use it today, I don't really want to get rid of my gray because it is a silver/platinum color and looks like thick highlights but I want to brighten my red. I figure the color will cover the gray but will wash out of it quickly as my gray is very color resistant.

Before I do any of that I truly think I need to take a nap.

Since it is my "day off" I am not going to post a ToDo/TaDa list today.

Twins - You have such a wonderful well rounded social life. I always enjoy hearing about your outings.

MT - your renovations look almost done. POTB!!! I'm thrilled for you that it turned out well.

I have been moving around and don't feel worse for the activity. Head is still pounding with limited mental thought process. Eyes are red & blurry. Body still aches. Otherwise I feel fine. LO continues to lose everything he has tried to eat for the past 48 hours. Unfortunately (for my weight gain) I have a cast iron stomach.

January decorations all had their photo taken and documented (in OneNote), taken down and packed into plastic tubs then put into cellar for storage. I also packed the shirts/PJ's that I had chosen to be January clothing. They are primarily blue or gray in very warm material (fleece/flannel). I have worn then continually the past 4 weeks so i am ready to see them go and move on to February clothing capsule colors.

February decorations are up. I have chosen Hot pink and black as my primary clothing colors for this month.

Okay - I'm glad your feeling better, wow I wish I had time to decorate much less change it up every month, and you change your clothing colors too... color me truly impressed.

I have made my Navy Director very happy today as I have; updated Flow sheet, created Instructor Database, updated and sent her Outlook Distribution List, and updated the TO roster... and this is what I do on my "day off" I truly am an IT Geek.

Time for a nap now.

3 loads of laundry finished but not put away yet.

Cleaned/polished all the sinks and the tub.

Emptied, wiped off everything and put it all back into the "linen" closet which only has one shelf for towels and the rest are health and beauty aids (lotions, shampoos, magical age removing potions, loofa sponges and assorted cotton balls etc.) all done except for the "travel shelf". Picture numerous clear makeup bags full of various travel needs like the first aid stuff, the "sharp" stuff that goes in a non carry on and my actual make up bag. There were teeny tiny little bits of hair from Mike's shaver all over everything. We need to agree on a new home for that. I have an idea Michael... how about the bathroom in the medicine cabinet...

Neither Mike nor myself use conditioner, but we had 4 partially used bottles on the top shelf. All brands that we have used in the past that have been taking up real estate for about 2 years...

Back from my day out at church and then lunch. Need to pull the dinner meat from the freezer to start defrosting. (Or better yet, send dh down to do it for me - he wandered into my peripheral vision at the wrong time!)

The anthem at church went well but the choir end of the day was full of confusion. First, we were to be there at 8:45 but no one told us so we showed up at 9:10. Secondly, it was the whole choir doing the piece. So that made my job way easier.

After church was the annual meeting for the second church. That went as well as can be expected (since financial reports were incomplete and unaudited.)

Arriving home, a member of my church came up the driveway and chatted for a while about me being accused of stuff. As he is an auditor of the books and the audit meeting is to take place tomorrow, I told him how the other church handled the report (they split off the joint board financial report and rejected it, and put forth a motion that the church treasurers go over the audited numbers and figure out a new budget for 2013.) The individual congregations don't approve the joint budget but I gave them the option of requesting their board members on the joint board re-open the budget and they took that option.

That conversation went well.

Now I just have next week's meeting to look forward to. I was to chair it but I can't figure out how I'll get back to my church in time so have told the minister I can't chair the meeting. This is what happens when things are changed - for the 22 years the annual meetings have been after the church service if the church has the 11:00 service. So that meant, my church's meeting couldn't start until 12 at the earliest. As the service I'm preaching at ends at 11, I knew there would be no problem making the meeting. Then I find out that Worship Committee moved our service to 9:30, with the meeting to start at 10:30. Even having throw in a brunch so the meeting could start at 11:30 isn't enough, since I have to stay after service to greet people, listen to concerns and tidy up my stuff, plus I have a 20 minute drive back to may church.

After being home long enough for dh to send off a quote to New Zealand for their Monday morning, we headed off for lunch and picked up some groceries.

Home again and I'll start work on the next week's sermon now.

Kathryn - Don't you love when illogical people set the schedule, for some reason they always seem to forget to check with the important attendees.

Had a good nap, actually woke up before the alarm. Now waiting for DS14 to finish cleaning up the Kitchen so that I can cook dinner. While it's cooking I will color my hair... maybe.

Not sure if I am going to watch the super bowl or not.

Since I'm trying to not do anything today (as few of regular chores as possible) I have continued to piddle with monthly decorating & clothing containers. I have 9 of the months tubs started. May, June and August don't have a color theme decided for them yet. I've started going through the collection of homemade treasures (quilts, table clothes, crocheted items, aprons, etc) passed down from previous generations and assigning them a month to be used. This process is going to take awhile. I'll be extremely happy if I can get it done in a year.

I'm stumped about washing & storing things. Do I wash everything before storing or wash everything upon taking out of storage? I'm leaning toward wash and immediately start using. If something gets soiled or dirty while being used, i immediately wash it. For example Shower curtains......they are easiest to wash and immediately iron/hang up. If I wash, iron and immediately store it will have wrinkles /creases/fold marks when I pull it out of the tub next year. I don't want to wash Shower curtain twice in one month....which leaves me in quandary. Wash before using and pack it unwashed to be washed before use next year? Somehow that gives me the willies to pack unwashed items. However, there is no way I'm going to pull an item out of storage and not wash it before using.

Its past 8.30am if anyone wants a time check from here. My curfew for computer is 10pm and mostly people come in here later than that. I'm hoping everyone is ok with me starting the PWYC thread.

Scattered - I am safe. Here like there you are - we have to live with the elements that exist each day. Where you live demands respect for the extremes and whims of nature doing its thing, just as here. Though I think it is more ever present when winters have ice and snow all winter long.
Storms come and go. We can only do what we can do. Live with nature, not against it.
Some people want everything flood proof, but I do not think that is really feasible. Urban design can help, but really - Major towns and cities grew around ports. Often ports have a river flowing into a harbour.
Our town grew around a mill when planners had a town planned for elsewhere.
Anyway - there is a bit of a bun fight here about things at the moment - if I care to listen.
Many things are on flood plains. Mostly its ok. But you don't need to study much geography to know possibilities.
I guess looking at flood levels is essential when buying. And not depending on dams and levies. And building codes - though some of our old time designs with tongue and grove boards tacked all over floor, walls, ceilings really are the ones that do best under and after floods - - just hose them out and wait for it to dry - so long as its still where you left it.
Mum had a home like that that suffered under her cyclonic type winds /tornado like cell that hit amid huge gales. The roof partially came off. Mostly it got wet inside apart from 2 rooms. The structure twisted a bit. It needed a new roof. And the replacement ceiling along one built in "veranda" will not survive if the same happened again. (DM put rain coats on some solid wood furniture. Already had plastics dust protection on top of wardrobes. Kept sweeping the water out and wiping the water off the silky oak table between going back to her hidey hole under a bench with another solid table pulled across. packed suitcase at the ready. Water pouring on her head if she was out dealing with water, and always - the noise of metal on metal screeching in the gale force wind. The weather radar station nearby was broken so who knows the velocity.
2am til 6 at daylight - a long time alone before she rang for help.Wind and rain lessened but kept up for days. It was months before a settlement came thru, over a year before she could get back home. Her house could have remained abandoned.)
When everyone/ or many affected the delays are much longer.
My house and me - both would be wrecked I think given same circumstance.

My Monday
tmeds and sups are boxed. Both are done for 8 days due to 1/2 tablets needed from foil containers.
and a 4 day cycle with my thyroid meds.
Dog has been out and in.

I'm due for volunteer work today. I'll cook seed cereal to eat there. Take some books. My readings I haven't done for a week, and library books. I'm reading one on ADHD. One educators view.
gotta go - poof.

OKay - I'd wash and fold before putting away. Hang on line and iron? when it comes out of tub. maybe mist spray it for wrinkles. Really - are you going to change curtains monthly? That seems like a lot of work to me?
