I'm trying to order something for dh for Valentines day -- just for fun. He has requested no chocolate b/c his weight is up. He now weighs 141. Well, he can tell a difference. . ..
I need to start dinner in aobout 30 minutes so that dd17 can eat before heading off to a babysitting job. I've changed my menu plan: I'm going to make pasta w/ homemade tomato sauce, salad, rolls.

Hello again. I have arranged some scheduling with XDH and finished editing a document for payroll. I have also decluttered more than a hundred emails! One of the emails said that my Valentine's Day present to MYSELF has shipped. I got myself a DVD with 10 years worth of patterns from Crochet World. DD wants me to make her a sweater. I'll bet somewhere in there is a sweater pattern for her.
HaHa, Nancy, I was picturing chickens walking around with boots on! Although, they do have little rose colored sunglasses for chickens you can clip them on their noses and it causes them not to fight with each other. I saw them on a stor age wars episode!
LOL about the chicken boots and the Whack-a-mole today. Spirits lifted later in the day - fairly productive at work with more stuff coming in constantly.
Meeting tonight at temple with some follow up to do now. But I (and others) did successfully get across the message that I can't take on any more. The rabbi will have to step up for one of the projects that is dear to his heart and put together a committee.
I've decided I can't make a 1 p.m. wedding shower on Sat. Will attend an event that evening. Also have a Jewish event Friday night that is obligatory, so I'm breaking my rule of no more than one event per weekend during tax season.
I think I mentioned that dsis' SSI has been "presumptively" approved; yesterday I got word that she is approved for MEdicaid back to Dec 1. I am making progress there. As I suspected last week, I need a trip to dMom's to sort out meds. She was almost out of two so I contacted doc to get refills sent to Medco for her today.
In other ta-das I got valentine packages for dkids in the mail - except that dd also has a package coming from an internet purchase, so her mailed package today is only candy and a note.
I am waiting for a pizza delivery. I still need to get ddogs out after that for a walk.

I normally resist commenting on typos since I make so many myself, but it was very amusing and almost poetic to see how the 'day' disappeared from Blessed's post!
I made it to the meeting.
Dinner was turkey casserole. You have to understand that 5 years ago I would have run from that but 6 years ago I made myself a promise to try new foods and while I would never make a casserole for myself, I can eat one now. Given that I hadn't eaten much in the last 24 - 48 hours, I actually enjoyed the 1/2 cup serving I had and turkey and rice was probably the best choice for dinner tonight, although I was craving pancakes and bacon. Actually, I'm still craving bacon so may fry up a slice or two for myself.
Left the meeting 30 minutes early because I was fading fast and it was a 30 minute drive home. Two books and 3 videos were taken out by attendees so it was worth the effort to go.
As well, there was some business that was important to vote on and my minister didn't get there (she had a sick kid) so I'm pleased that I was there.
I have a load of laundry in the washer and once it is done and hung up to dry, I'm off to bed. Dh is practicing his drum now.
Hello again! DD10 decided not to go out because she had a sore throat. We did eat Chinese, but ate it at home. We watched two episodes of Hogan's Heroes, then she played games on her school's website. We did get her Girl Scout homework done, too. She also got out my fabric boxes (down to two), so I have some clean up of that in the LR. Still left to do: put away dry LOL, put bedspread on the drying rack, cat care, me care, trash out. I may wrap DD's valentines and birthday presents.
FlyLady has a challenge of getting rid of 40 boxes in the 40 days of Lent. I don't have that many boxes, but I think I will work on the boxes I do have. I started today and put away some things in a box that has lived in my bedroom for a long time. I also have a box and some bags in my LR that need my attention, but I will work slowly.
I am off to deal with the aforementioned LOLs and trash. Bye!
Funny, I was thinking of it as a fill-in-the-blank. The day, the hour, the week, the month are all disappearing fast.

My evening has been spent helping with the math project, making pizza and hot chocolate, entertaining a friend with HRH, reassuring my ddad, who evidently slept on his arm wrong until it fell asleep, trying to be all things to all people. My idea for the project - dangers of fishermen a la Deadliest Catch and other reality shows - was shot down as too complicated and so we've been into animated movie budgets. If anyone's interested, dd's projected budget for Monsters University, which will premier in June, is $220 million dollars.

TaDas today include getting the truck inspected, getting copies made, picking up a prescription, making the mail, trash out, sweeping, and more I can't remember.
Embarrassment today - found, while HRH was watching me, a check from the satellite people reimbursement to my ddad 3 months old. Thankfully valid 180 days. I asked HRH if he had put it on my desk and he said no he had put it in my hand. Sigh. Even that is not a good place to put something unless I am, at that moment, able to turn my attention to it. This was the hard-fought reimbursement HRH managed to wrestle from them proving that they had overcharged my ddad previously.
Strange event today - gunshot as I opened my car window at the (urban) pharmacy drive-through window. I recited the time with clerk at window to document their customer heard the shot at that time and was confident it was not a backfire but a gunshot. The adrenaline put a knot in my chest and the reverberation, since I was directly beside a brick wall, bothered my ears. That's how close it was. Never found out what happened, but both county and city police vehicles driving around within a half-mile as I drove away.

But would have been so SCARED to have heard gunshots so close!
