Good Morning!

No showers here. I just read that last weeks rain/snow didn't move the needle any in drought relief. However, it did give us hope. We are going to have beautiful weather today with sunny and mid 70 degrees. We are in Red Flag Warning status today because of fire danger......high winds & dry

I'm looking forward to attending church this morning after missing the last 2 weeks due to virus.

Yesterday ended up being somewhat of a bust, but I really needed it. I didn't really get anything done, but DS14 got a lot done. After resting all day yesterday I woke up shortly after 7am this morning. I have had my coffee and read my meditation verses, now I need to get moving.

and good morning to all that come here today and thinking of all who won't be able to be here today with a warm heart.

I have to drive soon to take dd younger to her volunteer work. It's amazing how different each church is. the week before last she went to a unhappy unfriendly church, yesterday everyone at this church couldn't be nicer and happy.

hoping to do more sanding and painting. church at 5 for me.

((harriet - having to make sure medical work is done))) I know we had great doctors and nurses 98 % of the time but we had to watch out for those who had no idea what to do. very scary.

Showers were in the forecast last night we got a few sprinkles while I was at prayer group at our church last night.

Laundry is sorted and going.
We got another green egg yesterday.
Coffee is made.

H. cooked home grown chicken on the fire pit, it was good lean and had a diff. texture than the store one.

I did 10 mi. on the ex. bike yesterday.
I cleaned the coop and run & got the leaves raked up for bedding. That was great for an arms work out as well!

A classmate friend just sent me a message that she is considering chicks this spring too. She's thinking six.

The movie we wanted to rent was gone so had to wait to see that one.

Read a book in the afternoon yesterday so I did not get to the house work I wanted to.

Hello Dear Ladies,

The night was cold but it is sunny again and temperatures are already heading for 50 degrees.

There is a little bit of fire left in the stove but I'm not stirring it up or adding to it, just going to let it go out.

On my lunch break yesterday I bought 5 more cards to send to Daunt. There is some funny 47 cent cards and some 97 cent cards so I don't break my budget doing this. Dson17 has a picture of one of the dogs sitting in one of the seats in the van, it's a cute picture so I'll use that and write a few big print lines with it. I try to send something every two weeks to her.

Got to help Dbrother with his morning routine and then get ready for work.

I'll elaborate in Outdoor Spaces and Gardens, but wanted to quickly tell Nancy and helia that we lost our Barred Rock hen. Sigh. I mentioned when we got her what a homebody we'd noticed she was, never wanting to leave the coop, while her "sister" Red who came with her was off on jaunts with the others right away. She never changed. and even though she was fat and pretty she wouldn't go out to eat grasses, just feed. HRH said any hen that didn't run for the gate when offered the clover was an old one, and asked if I was sure of her age, and of course I have no way to be really sure, just the lady's description on craigslist.

Lynlee, the quote from Eberhardt is needlepointable! The last one from Jordan is good for students, immediately made me think to show it to dd.

OKay, what a disappointment to even get snow and still be in a drought. I'm sure it was a big encouragement, though.

Sadie, at our pharmacy's photo area, they sell backings for photos to make them into post cards for 10 cents. That might give her a conversation piece to share with her nurses. Add a 33 cent postcard stamp and that's a bargain to get a little something fun and personal into the mail.

We parents all got a "bad note" in formal PDF form from school administrators. They are cracking down on those who don't drop students off correctly in the morning, mostly because some try to make left turns when leaving, and that's a posted no-no. I am blessed with only needing to turn right to leave, so I'm off that hook. But they have about a dozen long-winded rules for all aspects of the short trip through their driveways. I especially liked this one:

"If you are all by yourself, do not stop to drop off your children before you get to the end of the sidewalk. This creates problems for everyone."



Now, either we have parents who are stopping to drop off children they actually forgot at home (quite possible), or the administration has started seeing imaginary parents. Or, maybe mischievous community members get up in the morning to drive through the school property alone, just to mess with the vice-principals.

I don't think I've done a real CUOP since maybe Thurs p.m. - things are busy here. Was out of the house from 8 a.m. until 9:30 on Friday, with 45 min at home to let dogs out, walk them a little and dress for services. Was out again yesterday from 9 until 10 p.m. last night, with 3:30 to 6 at home for a nap, s2s and getting ready to go to dfriends for a small family wedding.

I would be very happy to not leave the house today but dh is impatient for me to go somewhere with him so I'm not allowed that luxury. So the plans are to be out for awhile, to clean up here and do laundry and to aim for a nice nap. Will also send dh to the store and make some chili, I hope.

We have walked the ddogs three time around - it's a beautiful but cold day - and I played with them in the back yard some also.

lol dharriet.... parents coming through to mess with vice principal. I know by us when we had a overly rule focused principal - some mischievous parents would do little things to slightly annoy her because she would get overly protective of some of her way out rules. I never did but I did see some parents, esp. the dads with little smiles on their faces when they did little things when she wasn't looking.

dd younger had that yesterday with one of women form the local church. she got their 15 minutes before mass as she is required. The woman at the church berated her because she had been waiting for her. All dd could do is apologize for something she didn't have to do and say she was sorry that the woman felt inconvenienced. Glad she has manners.

i painted a bit but now need to get some washing solution for rest of walls.

so I have to get dressed (to be out in public in non junk cloths lol) take care and wishing you a wonderful morning if I don't get back until later

Last night dd2 had to work 5 -9, so the little girls came here. Her dh went to a mens benefit dinner. There was a birthday party at 5. She was so short on help that one of the kiln loaders, a guy, had to work with her. I tell you, young kids do NOT want to work. Dgd16 and another friend/coworker were out of town for a forensics tournament. So that was acceptable. But another girl had to work on making/ selling bierrocks for her church, so she knew she would be too tired to work. Another for some reason thinks she can't work on Saturdays. The college girl that dd2 wanted to promote, told dd2 on Friday that she needed off on Saturday to babysit her uncles children. Huh? When you have a job that should come first unless it is an absolute emergency. This is the 2nd time this college girl has done this and she always takes a weekend off every month. Even though she only works Saturdays. The other college girl had told dd2 3 months ago that she can't work at all during spring break. Dd2 has told the kids that she needs to know now, what their spring break plans are so she can figure out a schedule. Friday and Saturday, her business was swamped. Hopefully, it will stay busy.

Last night dgd22mos wanted her diaper changed. It was dry, so I asked her if she wanted to try using the potty and she said yes. I put her on there and she went. She was so excited. She forever wants to be on the potty for her mommy but has never produced anything. In true kid fashion, her first time had to be for grandma and not mommy. She constantly says grandpa to get dhs attention. I told her that she never says grandma. Usually it is gee-ma. But last night it was grandma Lilac!

We went to the Sweetheart Dinner Friday evening. The meal was delicious. They had a live auction and have added a silent auction. Dd1 and her dh had donated a health/exercise related basket. We won the bid for it but it was $30 less than she had spent, so we gave them the full amount when we paid. Dd1 and her dh won the bid on 5 auction items and 1 silent auction item. This is dgs18 last year. When he was in the 4th grade they started a Jr. Bible Bowl division and he joined then. He has spent half of his life being a Bible Bowler.

It is suppose to be upper 60's today. Then tomorrow 40's and very windy. They are calling for snow on Wednesday. We are in severe drought conditions, like Okays area. We need moisture so bad that no one cares what form it comes in. Well the exception is hail or freezing rain.

Dds and I are going to see Safe Haven today.
