Hello Dear Ladies,
It's windy but sunny here. Temps in the 60's. But the weather is changing and my body is not liking it. Feeling achey today so not doing any sprints or marathons either. Am working on laundry and just puttering otherwise.
I don't know why I feel so bad about not getting much done on Mondays. It's like a Saturday to me with my work schedule and I just feel tired most of the time. By Wednesday which is like a Monday to me, I usually feel so much better and get some things done but then it's time to go back to work.
A former co-worker came by last night at work. She gave me her new cell phone number and said she wanted to chat. I called today but she didn't answer so left a message for her to call me when she can. I have a number of co-workers that stop by to see me at work. One lady I worked with 10 years ago for 6 months and we have kept in touch all these years.
Well back to the laundry.

Re: Monday Motivation
Sadie, you must be a friendly person to work with if others want to keep in touch with you after they've gone.
((Elizabeth)) I would be willing to bet money on it that XDH's attitude about your DD and you is contributing. Even if there is an underlying problem, DD's personality might somewhat be a learned thing. I had similar due to unsupportive XDH. My 2 DD's learned to call me a very hurtful name. Many years later they learned not to do that when a friend called them on it. Parenting is not a bed of roses. It is hard work. Sometimes one doesn't see benefits until very much later. I hope you are able to work it out somehow and things get easier.
Also hope things are going easier in DHarriet's household.
Twins, are you having troubles getting taxes done with those forms not being available yet? Ours is in limbo on account of it.
Have we seen Dee around here the last couple days? Hope everything is ok there.
It's cold here. The house has been chilly. We had the little room heater going in the kitchen and the oven on and for 2 days we're using the fireplace. I fell asleep in the big chair pulled up close to the fire last evening. It was in the 30's last night and my flowers in the planter are a bit damaged on their tops.
Mondays are quiet regroup days here for me since Sunday is busy and stressful to me these days. So I haven't pushed myself much. I did help Dh a bit in his shop this morning. Big truck wouldn't start until they discovered a loose wire. He's working out on an island today with a canal in the back and beach across the street, so I imagine the wind is chilly.
Wanted to go to bank and stop at library, but nope it's a holiday and all are closed. Put that off till tomorrow. Cleaned everything up from our group last night and did some paperwork. So the day isn't a complete loss.

Re: Monday Motivation
I don't know what to say other than my shoulder and back hurts, so I'm baby-stepping the day, while enlisting DH to help. He put the dark clothes in the washer for me, I got it set up, pushed the buttons, and he dust mopped.
I think I have a small mouse in my office because when I coughed 2 different times this a.m., just to clear my throat (am not sick), it sounded like a little creature jumped in here, on papers or inside something with papers.
My small office across from the main bathroom, where the mice come in. DH put some sticky pad mouse traps under the bathroom sink, MONTHS ago, which the mice are not getting caught on. They've out-smarted DH!
So the mouse eventually gets caught by our kitty, she brings it into the great room, to show me,
and DH puts on his welding gloves and gets a long stick. So kitty lets go of the mouse, DH and kitty run all over the great room, dining room, and kitchen, try to catch the mouse and this scene can last up to anywhere from 15 - 25 min.!
When DH catches the mouse, he puts it outdoors. Then, kitty keeps wandering around the great room, etc.. with such a dumb soulful look on her face, like she's asking, "What's up? Where's my mouse?"
I'm keeping my office door open, so kitty can come in and if there is a mouse in here, she'll eventually get it, never-ever kills them, but plays with them. Why? I just can't figure it out!
I did "Quietude", s2s, emails, and wrote out titles for stories. Sometimes my titles are really catchy, sometimes they're duds, so the editor picks something grand for me. I looked on-line and WHY didn't I do this before? I did a search on how to find a catchy title to a short story. 1- Write the story first, 2- The title will come to you when you're done. Duh! I should have been able to figure this out on my own.
I need to run. It's lunchtime. I'll be reading, writing, and baby stepping the day. Am waiting for someone in my inbox, need to be more patient, so I'll just go occupy my mind with my day.
It's cloudy, dunno if we'll get showers or not. Waving to all of you!

Re: Monday Motivation
Yay! I'm connected again!
We've had nothing but trouble with the internet service this weekend. Finally got it fixed today, but first I've had a chance to get here.
DD has gone to Daytona this afternoon -for classes at the track. This is sponsored by C lemson Univ and the school board. She has infield/garage passes for the week. She & her co-teacher have a gorgeous hotel room on the beach side. Wasn't a bad price either. They offered to go to another hotel closer to the track but the school wanted them in a safer area. That's nice to know.
Have supper cooking.
Have to take gd to school in the morning and pick her up and take her to a teacher friend of dd's for the night. Doing the same again on Wednesday (except we'll have her for a few hours Wed afternoon -there's Early Release at noon). So we should be able to make it through the week. DD will be back Thursday night.
Dh is in our room watching the news. Didn't want to 'disturb the peace' in the living room.
Hoping we can get gd to bed at a decent hour tonight. dh will give her the night time meds.
Time to go stir dinner. Might just take dsonil out for dinner tomorrow night or Wed. Meeting a couple for breakfast Wed. morning.

Re: Monday Motivation
Nancy, I've always just fed the chick-starter or chick-mash and just accepted whatever vitamins were in that as all they needed - it usually says it's "complete". I've never provided grit separately and never fed corn meal or worried about meds. I didn't have a brooder, either. You may remember I did it by the (indoors) method of switching out 2 gallon jugs of hot water into their big cardboard box, waking up in the night to change for new hot gallon jug(s) and take away the one(s) that were getting cold. That worked perfectly for 9 chicks or even more. The heat stays in that gallon jug real well. Of course, heating water costs money, but I figured lots cheaper than buying something. Chicks will be coming in throughout the early spring. Check around and you may find that the ones your dh wants are coming in later. I know you check the internet for good ideas. You might find opinions on corn meal there. The later you wait to buy, the faster you can have weather good enough to get them out the door.
Sounds like you are handling this well, ellyphant. Get well wishes to the Mister. Hate to tell you two this, but another oddity about the norovirus is that you are contagious longer after symptoms have ended than you are with other viruses. (Ducking and running after telling bad news!)

Re: Monday Motivation
Well, I am certainly glad that this day has come to a close. Still need to call dparents, but otherwise, I am FINISHED for the day. Kids are wild; I am crazy... good gracious it has been Monday all day long.
* Called dmil (at her request) this morning to make sure she was awake in time to go to funeral visitation. LOL.
* All my grades are posted except the make-up work assignments that may still come in through Wed. morning.
(Students are out tomorrow.)
* Called substitute for Wed.
* Faculty meeting.
* Called allergy doctor for refill.
* DH's clothes are with the ironing lady.
* Went to the bank.
* Returned one phone call & one e-mail re: ddad.
* Supper, vitamins.
* Back to school for parent meeting.
Sooo terrified that when I retire, dmom & dad will expect me to be "on call" 24/7...
Sooo glad I do NOT have to think about all the changes coming at our school for next year.
After I call dparents, maybe I will exercise. Maybe I will go to BED.

Re: Monday Motivation
Glad to see Dee checked in. I've been standing on the front porch, scanning the southern horizon, watching for flares from her!
Dinner was good and is now cleaned up. Cleared a few more things out of the fridge. Not necessarily a good idea because now you can see how dirty the shelves are. When they are covered with things, you can't!
In total, I did two loads of laundry today. One is still hanging to dry (inside), the sheets are off the outside line, warmed in the dryer, folded and put away. I also dusted the laundry room which was awfully dirty. It needs to be dejunked too, but all I've done is pulled two decorations off a shelf and put one in the giveaway pile. The second one is a decorative candle which I'll use.
Listened to my friend's church service from Feb. 3. It made me smile. He has a great harmony for one of my favourite hymns so I need to pull out my hymn book and figure out what he's singing. I'd ask him to teach me except he doesn't know the new mike picks him up when he's singing (in fact, he "knows" it doesn't and said so to me) and I love listening to his singing voice so much, I don't want him to know and have it changed back to the old way.
I'm going to make copies of five services for my senior friend. I've been meaning to do that for a while.

Sheets are clean and back on the bed.
Dgd & I made cookies that we cut out with a cookie cutter with the egg shaped one she decorated them with chocolate chips. They turned out huge! LOL! Every one loved that.
Harriet re; Chicks thanks for letting me know about the gallon jugs, info. & tips, I can't get the kind h. wanted but will have to do a special order so we can just get a diff. kind instead. They range in price here from $2.99 to $3.49 ; dd raised some in a bath tub but we do not have an extra one!
I put the chicken coop back the way it was before I cleaned it had the roosts sort of rearranged.
It was a not school day here so dgson was here also. He napped then watched a movie and a friend came over they playedgs todaiy ot ball out side too.
We got three eggs today one pullet.
They other granny is out of surgery and things are going as they expected.
Dson started his new job today.

Re: Monday Motivation
Hello everyone. I was extremely foolish today. I stayed in bed until 4 pm. Yes, you read that right. Yesterday, I did some useful stuff: paid all bills and updated Quicken. I had money leftover to put in savings, not as much as I want, but some. What I did get done today: treat myself to dinner out, buy and put away groceries, called DD11, and called DD's friend's mother to arrange him to come to Chuck E Cheese tomorrow. I guess it won't be Girls' Night Out with him, but she did want him to come. She also wants me to pick her up earlier tomorrow, which I will do. I have found a new timewaster: the game of hearts is on my computer. In fact, I hear it calling out to me now. Tomorrow, I need to get an appointment to have my taxes done.
What I still need to do tonight:
LOL (running now)
Bible study
box work
shampoo
cat care (dFosterCat13 has already had her pills, she thinks they are a treat)
put away the dry laundry
fix tomorrow's lunch
I was going to do some cooking, but have decided to postpone that. I also need to clean up the sewing room, also postponed.
kathryn: Did my PM to you ever make it?
