Dgs is sleeping somewhat fretfully... maybe teething is bothering him? He has had his usual happy moments most all afternoon, but has also been a little "quieter" than normal -- after napping 30 minutes or so in bassinet this afternoon, he lay on the couch with me & slept another hour or so. VERY unusual. Very fretful & fussy while eating his baby food a little while ago. That's very unusual too. Most of the time, we just can't feed him fast enough. So -- I'm kinda perplexed, but I think he's doing okay.

And dmom said tonight... "If we have to stay out here 4 or 5 months..."
OH MY GOODNESS... I'm on the verge of spinning off into a worry cycle... oh my goodness... I am already ready for this to be OVER & for them to come HOME & life to be NORMAL again. AUUUGUGGGGHHH!!!!!
Oh, Lucylee, I hope your dparents don't have to stay out there that long. I'm sure they're anxious to come home. How is DGS's rash? Maybe he's starting to teethe again?
Kathryn, we all need a quiet slow day now and then.
I got a lot done finally. My crock pot never did work, and I discovered the special circuit in the kitchen had been snapped off by something so there was no electric to the pot. I dumped it all back into a big saucepan which boiled over on the stove and made a huge mess, then I got out the chicken fryer (deep) frypan and put it all in there to cook. MMM it was very good, but I had a mess to clean up and extra dishes.
DW unloaded, today's kitchen messes and dishes all cleaned up.
Did some hand wash, tops that needed pre-spotted, then I got them washed in washer and hung up. All the spots came out. I like Ox i C l e an in hot water for that, it really brightened up the colors too.
Gave DH a haircut. He always seems to pick a time when I'm busy or tired.
Looking for lost earring, I went into bedroom where I knew it came out of my ear and I pulled all the furniture out and mopped everything including baseboards, etc., but no earring. I was sad until I found it in the next room (bathroom) on the floor. It must have been there a few days. I sprayed those baseboards where I'd cleaned them.
Harmony -- the rash is MUCH better. I think he must be teething. Just talked to ds on the phone and he said he had acted the same way at home this morning.
Oh my goodness... I've finished off the Valentine's Day candy... and now I need to go to sleep... and there is laundry to do and papers to grade and bottles to wash... I'm so stupid. Should have done all this a long time ago.
I don't know "where" to post this, but I had an idea. I thought, if only I could take my big bin out of the spare room closet, on the floor, which had small bins on it, and take all the journals out! DH helped carry the big bin of journals to our master bedroom. I put them all in the hope chest. I wanted to slowly go through my journals, for short story ideas and a possible novel idea, for writing. They date back to 1993. Then, I counted them! I counted 3 times and came up with the same number! I have 43 journals to go through, slowly, in my spare time. It's going to take me back to the old days, when DH worked, the kids were in school, I still drove, made handmade noodles, chicken soup by scratch, baked my own bread, by hand without a bread machine, and wow! It'll be such a heart-warming journey! Of course, there will also be those times of trials and tribulations, too. It will be fun to read about the weather, the storms, surving them, vacations, guests coming to visit and taking classes at the college, too. Oh, my! I'm SO looking forward to this year! I'm so excited I have 43 and they date back to 1993 when the kids were still at home. This is the same date that I started formally pen palling, too. This is going to be a fun journey of self-discovery.
