Just begin.
Living this day, today

Good morning, Lynlee! I like Anthony Burgess, "Take a method and try it...."
Thank you, too, for this quote last night, lucylee: from Winston Churchill: “the most beautiful voice in the world is that of an educated Southern woman.” Although I imagine educated Southern women had enough sense to let statesmen of that day talk about themselves, and therefore sounded beautiful in the listening.
Elizabeth, I hope you feel better and it's just some short-lived cold. Thank you for the invitation to cake!
OKay, true, if you are doing that much in the garden you will have enough of movement/activity, especially if you have muscle aches now!
Starting Kitchen Week for Focus Cleaning this morning and Living Room declutter to get ready for next week. I've got a focus project to continue today from last week, and then am freed up to plow in to those two rooms.

Re: Monday Motivation
Good morning! I actually have time to post this morning! Unusual. I'm normally barely navigating much before 7am and have to be ready to take gd to school by 7:30. BUT, last night I slept all night! What a concept. Woke briefly at 4:15 and went right back to sleep -never got up. But definitely was ready when the alarm went off at 6.
Going to seem so nice when I no longer have to get up to get on the road. We're kinda thinking that may come after Spring break. Remains to be seen.
Foggy out this morning, but at least it doesn't seem to be at road level -at least not right here. Know it's worse toward the Gulf.
Been seeing pictures of DS-A cropping up on FB and dh and I both think he's lost quite a bit of weight this winter. I rather thought he'd lost some when he was down here last month, but pics look like quite a bit more. I'm also seeing a lot of our DGS7months in his face. Last night ddil sent a pic of dgs donning a fire helmet, captioned "ready for a fire call". I noted he must be his father's son -inherited genes? DDIL replied, "More than you know -he's an exact replica of Daddy". To which I said, we'd best keep him away from cell phones
, only to learn he's already fascinated with them and remotes. Too late.
DD went back to school today -she was off all last week for seminars at Daytona and on Friday she had her "Solid Works" class (a computer program she had to learn to be able to teach it -not an easy road). Her co-teacher who does much better in it and taught dd a lot, had to leave early as she wasn't feeling well. DD decided to take the test for "practice", knowing full well she'd not pass. Wallah! She did pass it and is now certified and wonders what she's doing teaching!
She's just a real good "test taker". Her co-teacher OTOH, is a poor tester and knows her stuff, but will probably take it a few times. At any rate we celebrated this milestone with her on Friday night by taking them out to dinner.
Need to get ready to go -I've rambled long enough here. Have a good day.

LynLee - Good Evening and thanks for starting us off with such great quotes.
Harriet - Good Morning and have fun tackling those rooms.
Ever have one of those morning where you actually wake up just before the alarm yet hit the snooze bar when it goes off? That was me this morning. I need to get a move on it. Two weeks left until spring break.
Have a Great Day Villagers!

Re: Monday Motivation
Good morning! I'm up and at 'em.
It is sunny with clear blue skies. today. Lovely! Dh went for a morning run.
I was happy to send the girls off this a.m. My introverted side is craving time alone, exacerbated by a very social day yesterday - church, lunch out, home at 2:15, met w/ dfriends for wine and appetizers 4-6:15, came home, S and R were here for dinner 7-9:00. . . .
I have a fairly open week in terms of appts., etc. I did a lot of that last week. However, I am teaching at the moms group on Thursday, and I'm teaching the 5th/6th ss class this Sunday. So, I have 2 lessons to prepare. Dd14's synchro team is participating in a charity show Wed. night and I'd like to go -- so I need to be ready for Thursday morning moms group before then. Dh will be out wed. - Thurs. this week, just one night.
My evenings have been/continue to be full, however. . . .
Today:
- finish a.m. routine
- finish Hebrew translation
- work on ironing out details for teaching this week
- maybe get to groc. store?
- maybe get to the gym? -- probably not
- Heb. class 5-6
- book club is meeting tonight. I have not read the book, plus have been out/had someone over the last 3 nights - and will be out (for a short time) on a girl dinner date tues., out to dd14's show Wed., and may have friends here for dinner Thursday. . . . . SO I'm considering skipping to have a free evening at home for a change.

Re: Monday Motivation
Good Morning!
OH MY! I am at my wits end. I don't know what to do about LO and his desire to stay home with me. He is crying everyday when I take him to school and begging to not leave him. The weird thing is he loves school. He adores his teacher and has several good friends. He always comes home in a good mood with lots of "exciting" things to tell. Now I'm thinking yesterday staying home from church had nothing to do with being sick. I didn't realize it at the time, but now I think he just doesn't want to leave home or me for any reason. His teacher and I have talked several times about this change. It started about 3 weeks ago. We hope it is a phase that will pass quickly. I am letting him ride the school bus home today (something he has asked to do since beginning of school) as a "carrot" to get him excited about school. I'm almost to the point of taking him to the doctor and or counselor. Part of me thinks that is way overkill. What to do? Should I just wait this out? The only thing I am sure about is not giving in to his begging to stay home with me. It would set a bad precedence for the next time he begs to do something.
I have a goal of having tax information ready for CPA by March 1 (Friday). With the status of paper stacks, multiple unreconciled financial accounts and spreadsheets that are out-of-date it is crazy to think it can be brought up to date that quickly. It is an unrealistic and outlandish goal. Just the reason I like it. It inspires me to attempt the impossible.

((OK and LO)) I don't have any advice, just empathy. It sounds like you are in close communication with the teacher over this, and that has got to be important. Maybe this is just a phase. Yes, I think you are wise in not setting a precedent.
Dh fixed my email yesterday, so now I can reply in thunderbird.
It looks like we might finally get a proper snowstorm this winter!!! Up to 6 inches are forecast for Tuesday night. . . .
I'm sure the schoolkids will be beside themselves with the possibility of a s now d ay Wed. We'll see; it is just Monday.
My morning tasks are done, a bit late - but done. That means the MBR is tidy, kitchen is tidy, laundry has been gathered and is going, I'm clean, including my teeth, and I've had some tag time. I'm going to work on Hebrew for a while and then have lunch. I need to send some emails, but might do that later.

Re: Monday Motivation
OKay, does the school bus trip include only the students who are LO's grade, after their shortened schedule, or is this the time the whole school leaves and he'll be on a bus with many older kids? I think I remember a shortened schedule for LO. I hope the "carrot" of the bus ride works out well - it certainly will be a change, and if he perceives it as fun, and a treat, it could give him enough optimism about his school days to really change things. What I'm hoping is that it's not just a long time with people he doesn't like, which could have the opposite effect. Will you be waiting, looking for the bus to come over the horizon?
If he is allowed snacks from home at some point during the day (I remember that was the plan a few times here) perhaps you could surprise with favorites and let him know just before school?
Everyone ready for more childhood questions?
Ds27 called and his little family was up from 1 to 3 a.m. after dgs1.5 awakened with what may be a night terror.
They are both familiar with the term but neither has ever seen one. So they're not sure. Ds27 said he wouldn't be consoled, was pushing away both parents, was screaming and crying ... "sounds I didn't know he could make" ... for longer than any other long cry he's ever had. The only explanation they can come up with is pain, but he had no fever. They wonder if possibly constipation. Ddil gave him applesauce for breakfast - he would take nothing last night.
Our rain is coming in tonight, will last literally all day tomorrow, but I haven't heard mention of ice - not sure. I'm trying to think what I should get accomplished before then. It's probably a good time to get as much recyclables/trash work done as I can, since that pick up is Wed a.m. Anyone else need a Trash Day Reminder?

Good morning Ladies! Harriet thanks for that reminder!
I'm up have s2s fed chickens had breakfast & made coffee and the bed is made as well. Got up late so missed one bit of my morning devo. show and ex. opportunity.
Found how to get the Bing search engine and tool bar off my chrome one by unchecking a box for an app that was using it the scripture verse one go figure.
It's cloudy here but not frosty a great morning to get out to where I left off on some of the yard work this weekend.
Okay dgd has been saying she does not want to go to school [she loves school as well but does not like the crowd when it's time to pick them up] or shopping she just wants to go to "your house Grandma" she loves school as well but seems its much more fun to sit at home watch movies and eat cookies at gma's house!
I think I might be part of the problem here!

Re: Monday Motivation
Hello everybody!
(OKay & LO) If you are in contact with his counselor, do you think a phone call is in order re: does she think that's an important stage he's going through or something? I'm spposing he does not know things are still in limbo...
I'm on social overload and enjoying my quiet house today. Several times recently I've thought that I can't keep up this schedule of bible studies, classes, people things...
Sat I got house all cleaned up and the teenager who wanted to have her birthday party showed up here. Her parents did all the party work, with food, decorations, etc., but still I had all the house work to do. These girls kept coming in and out (why do females need an entourage to go to the bathroom?) and my floors were filthy. I had to clean the bathroom twice during the evening and take up the throw rugs...and clean a couple chairs (hosed them) on the back porch when they got blue icing on them..I just think it was all too much for me.
Sun. I woke up with a "sick" headache, almost a migraine and spent time in and out of bed. DH had to redo the worst of the floors before small group came and I had to get all the food prep done, coffee / tea made.
I feel ok today and I'm having some soup from yesterday. I've caught up my other Bible study and got spreadsheets set up for this year and one filled in to date.
There was a house auction and someone is flipping that house. It's caddy-cornered in back of us and former owner had a lot of bushes between us at that corner which they've cleared out. I have no privacy anywhere now. The guy in back bought the lot next to him on the other side and cleared it. We really need a fence but haven't been able to decide on which kind and/or save the money for it. I'm going to ask DH if we can at least put some bushes on our side of property line in that corner.
Harriet, poor DGS, night terrors are awful, I was having them this past summer, can't imagine a little one. I put a scripture in my brain that I would repeat over and over, but he's too little for that...
Nancy, I can't get BING off my IE. I don't know how I got mine. Indiana tried to help me, but she was going step by step and it seemed like a long long process and I felt bad because I knew she wasn't feeling well... good luck!
