Goodnight, LYNLEE!

I'm up early for a Sunday. It seems that "early to bed, early to rise" really does work. Had my coffee and now Mr. T (Dh) is making eggs for us. Should have no trouble getting to Sunday school. We have a light dusting of snow on the road and driveway. But spring is around the corner. Have been hearing lots of birds. That is a good sign!

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

Elly, I'm another one who was early(ish) because lights out were early. I was in bed by 10 but spent 20 minutes planning the Sunday School lesson today.

I'm carefully on the treadmill. With my knees acting up so much, I'm worried I'll send them back to 'bad' (it is only this past few days that I can do stairs pain-free reliably.) On the other hand, without my daily exercise, I'm eating worse too and my weight is rising. Which will only make knees worse, so I need to nip this in the bud.

For Jan I had cut out most gluten (except my morning cereal) but for Feb I decided to watch calories instead. Except I started eating way too much and didn't bother with the calorie counting, so for the rest of March I'm going back to cutting gluten. Since I had cut baked sweets for Lent, it isn't as if I've been gorging on baked goods, it is bread (and bread coating) on foods that must be the trigger.

I might invest in gluten free bread for lunches because I find they are the hardest to do gluten-free.

I'm up and slowly getting ready for church. DD had waffles for breakfast -couldn't finish mine.

Had to wash my hair over the bathroom sink this morning -not easy. Can't do it in the shower -too afraid of falling over. Dh was doing dishes at the kitchen sink -now that's a Good thing!

Think dh, dd and I are going to make a trip to Ikea in Orlando after church. We can hop right on I-4 from church and drive in about 45 minutes. (Though I hate that I-4 corridor -but dislike it more toward Tampa0.

DDIL sent us 2 videos of dgs7months last night. They sure brought smiles to our faces. I can't believe how he's standing, walking around things and crawling to beat the band. He's saying a few words. DD finally looked up "schedules" for babies -yep, he's quite far ahead in most things. He's going to be walking before he's 9 months at this rate. Last night he was going for the cat (on a chair) and she would try to cuff him -he would sit up and giggle his head off. Sure gave us the lift we needed! Of course dh is 'teasing' us that he's getting to see him in about 3 weeks! It'll probably be mid-May before I do.

GD spent the night with dd's teacher friend & her girls. (Thus our opportunity to go do something -but more importantly, DD feels she can go to church today.)
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Good Morning!!! I have been up since 530a. Went to bed past my usual bedtime, but if I didnt get up early, then I would have trouble getting to sleep tonight. Sooooo, here I am.

Good night Lynlee!! Sleep well!

Kathryn... Be careful with your knees. This is a terrible time of year to be "'pain ridden'". Right now, I am dealing with a hip issue. And I have noticed that the damper it gets, the worse the pain is. And also, if I dont keep it moving in a 'good' way, the pain gets out of hand.

Good Morning Elly!!! You have a great Sunday also.

Like I said, been up for a couple of hours now. Its been fairly productive if I say so myself. Today is packed with things I have to do, so being productive from the start is certainly going to help.

Without further Adooooooooooo....

Tada's for today
email and boards
am meds
breakfast, of sorts
paid the bills for this round. Yay me!!! Didnt procrastinate on this. BIG STEP!!!
made out tithe check for Dh
long talk with Dh about his upcoming car purchase. Think we have finally decided which way he is going to go.

TODO's for today
s2s
gather my laundry and get it started
make bed
11a.m DD and I meeting at M's (the florist) to pick her wedding flowers cha chinggggggg
possibly dd and I getting manicures after the florist...depending on the time
home to gather the rest of the tax info so Dh and can at least start the taxes
keep laundry moving
refill med box for week
DH to clean my truck for me :D
dinner
bed by 730.

Gonna go and grab something more to eat, the first breakfast was paltry and didnt cut it, lol. Then to wake DD so we can get moving on this day. **WAVING hello* to all who follow. Have a WONDERFUL DAY!!!! Spring will be here before we know it!!!

Good morning, dear friends.

Dd was sick last night - something she ate, we think, while out all day at movie and then the meeting, which lasted 2.5 hours. So her sleep was poor, and she's sleeping in this morning. This will need to be recuperation day for her and getting ready for a week at school. She's delighted she will at least have the mini-break of a shortened day on Tues, as the school switches to ACT testing for the Juniors.

At noon today I "host" a small surprise party for dstepgd. (Dstepdil is doing most of the work.) I wrapped one gift last night and HRH did fun bubble-letter writing on another gift. He has a talent for lettering and decorative handwriting. Dstepgd recently lost her great-grandmother, but still has 4 of us Grandmas! LOL! It is funny to see dstepson try to make sure we all get to see her, lucky dear girl. But always she has had just the one old bear of a Grandpa, so she does love HRH so much. (I should think so - I'll put a bill into her card, but he sneaks back and puts in another! )

Cathy, are you bruised from your fall? :o Yikes. I hope dh can drink loads of water and both can feel better.

Thinking of Sadie and Emptynester this morning as they hover, I'm sure, over husbands and situations of hospital, medical testing, travel home. Couldn't pick two more competent partners.

Thinking of Mr. Harmony. Get well soon.

Thinking of Kathryn and itneverends with joint pains recently. So frustrating. Spring warmth may change things?

We arrived home last night about 6 after a ho hum drive home. (Like that kind) But our internet connection didn't work. This morning, I turned it on and it works - Magic.

It took about 4 hours to get checked out after the cardio Dr. said we could go home. The internal meds Dr. had ordered more tests as there were some weird numbers in a kidney function test. That test came back closer to normal and then they had to find him to sign papers. The hospital was under a "Code Purple - Phase 2" which means they were not only full, but turning people away. So the Drs. were discharging as many as possible, that is why discharge was taking so long.

DH hardly got any sleep in the hospital as the guy in the bed next to him was not "with it" and tried to get out of bed all night. Since he couldn't walk (probably weighed about 400) alarms were going off all night and people running in to get him back in bed. I expect DH to sleep in today, so we won't go to church.

I'm going to go make myself a bowl of oatmeal. I know I didn't eat correctly - skipped meals and a lot of latte coffee. My BS has been up the last two days. Of course, stress sends it sky high, too.

Booksaver I just cuop from yesterday and your idea about buying dd a sofa she loves is brilliant. She doesn't want anything new that she loves because she is convinced that her (still hypothetical) kids will ruin it. Her friend is on her third sofa and her oldest child is just coming up on 5 but I had the same sofa for 20 years and only got rid of it because I was friggin tired of it. It was still in great shape and the only stain on it was some nail polish (so you can guess who did that!) and that stain was easily hidden by a pillow since the bottle was on the arm and got knocked off and the stain was along the inside of the arm.

I ran a home day care so it wasn't as if there weren't kids on it all the time - in fact, it served the roll of fort, space ship, boat, truck, hospital bed and assorted other imaginative roles in their play.

I think the key was that it was extremely good quality. Dh bought the first one, L-shaped, before we lived together and I bought a matching love seat with the intention that when we moved in together we'd have the U-shape. Dh only had three pieces of furniture but they were all high quality and lasted. The sofas were sold when Dad died because I was tired of them (they were sooooo 80's), the dining room table is still in use in our kitchen and both kids have expressed interest in it for their homes, and though his waterbed is now gone (we cut it down to make a bed for ds when he was 2 because he slept so much better in the warmth and motion of the waterbed), the drawer units underneath it are among the things I'm freecycling out of here since they've been used under other beds. The drawer units left when the kids moved out, but came back when ds moved from a town house to an apartment and bought himself a bed.

Dh thinks we might hear by the end of next month if dsil is getting the job because that is the government year-end. So I'll hold onto it until May and then sell it.

I've been up since around 8 a.m. - read the paper and have surfed and caught up online a little. DH has gone to Birmingham AL today for a funeral - this is the father of the dfriend we visited in Tampa in Jan, and the spouse of the lady who passed away in Birmingham right before Thanksgiving when we went to that funeral. Since this is the only day I take off I really need to be at home doing some things for myself today.

DD is home for the weekend - we talked awhile on Friday night and snuggled on the couch some last night while she watched TV and I read. I worked until 8:45ish yesterday - long day but I don't think I got going until 10:30 yesterday a.m. at work. I am finishing things and moving work along, there's just such a volume and I do prefer to be busy, so I've asked them not to move any of my work to others if possible.

Today's PODA:
-routines
-probably groc store
-nap
-get ready for week

I need to get rolling here:
-wake up dd (she asked me to check on her around 10 so she didn't sleep in too late
-walk the poor suffering ddogs who have waited not so patiently
-clear kitchen table
-start a lol
-get dressed warmly before walking dogs (still in pajamas and it's 32 degrees, feels like 24 out there)
