clean sheets today - and the sun was out and wind blowing so a good day for washing to dry.
Volunteer day. Someone called in and it was good to catch up.
Walked 3k delighted not to need an umbrella.

Re: Getting Moving on Monday
Nice to walk without the rain, LynLee.
I'm s2s and am munching away at breakfast while I type. Will soon be time to go on the school run. Then I believe we're going to dbil/dsil's for a little bit. Then dh is going to dd's school to work on a veggie stand -a place for students to sell their produce from their hydroponics lab.
Thursday gd goes for her final interview at the Youth Ranch -and tour. If she is accepted there, it will be a good thing for her, no doubt about it.
Hoping dh's veggies made it through the night -we did get frost over night, but they're somewhat sheltered. Should warm up fairly fast as the sun is coming out bright.
Went to Ikea in Orlando yesterday after church. Place was packed. Lunch there is a 'given'. Got an outdoor rug for dd to put in front of her motorhome steps this summer -along with a few other things. Traffic was pretty heavy on I-4.
Church ended up being quite good yesterday. Pastor handled the obvious huge hole left, by our dfriend who passed away Saturday, very well. Though he was obviously struggling as well.
Haven't decided what I'll do today. If dh is going to school all day, it leaves me 'free'. I do need to type up church council minutes and get them sent in. If dh is going to be there all day, he'll be able to come home with dd. oh! no he won't -she has 'after school care' and tutoring tonight.
Off to finish getting ready to leave the house.

LynLee - Good evening, sleep tight.
Dee - have a good day, and I have my fingers crossed that GD gets into the program.
I need to get going, not much accomplished this weekend... oh well.

Re: Getting Moving on Monday
I've been up since 1 and it is almost 6 now. Slept too much during the day yesterday and I'm upset as people who took over for me thru away several of my trays. They might look like throw aways - but I have used them for many years. I know I have to get over it as they were just stuff - and I can buy more at the dollar store.
Today I need to call and make appointments for DH's follow up. I always hate to call the cardio Dr. as the lady that makes the appointments is a witch. But I will just have to be assertive and see what happens.
Somewhere/sometime after we got home, I have misplaced my car key and my wallet. It is very frustrating as I know I had them in my hand and don't know where I put them. I'll probably find them somewhere weird like the fridge or something.
Going back to my chair to see if I can get a bit more sleep.

Re: Getting Moving on Monday
Good morning!
Thanks for the lovely quotes again, Lynlee.
I do hope dgd gets into that program, Dee, especially if you think it would be best for her.
Have a good day at payroll, scattered. Maybe you needed the weekend to unwind and catch up on R and R.
I take it that dh is home again, MT. I hope you get some more sleep.
SS yesterday went pretty well. These kids are SO easy to teach. The curriculum had a skit which a few of them put on for the class, and one boy, the son of the church children's ministry director, went completely off script, meaning I couldn't make the teaching points via the skit as planned. Not a big deal and rather humorous, actually. . . .
The parents are sitting in on this session of SS so the class was half 5th/6th graders and half their parents. Everyone is helpful and has a sense of humor.
Yesterday afternoon, dh, the girls, and I dragged the bulk of the downed limbs to the curb. The city is coming by on Thursday to grind them up. They will not be happy when they see our property; the edge is very long (we have over an acre) and it is completely covered by a thick layer of branches and limbs. We even put some by our mailbox. Dh used his chainsaw to cut up the larger limbs into pieces we were able to drag. THere are still some large imbs hanging from trees, some touching the ground, that dh couldn't get to with his chainsaw. We'll wait for spring and bring in a tree company. Dh did save some of the better wood for firewood, and our property now has a lot of smaller branches scattered across it. We'll probably take care of those during spring clean up. We have lost one of the white pines by our patio, not our 100 year old one, though. Dh thinks the magnolia may not survive, but it looks better to me than I originally thought. Time will tell.
I am up, have had a mug of tea, and that's about it.
Today:
-WORK ON TEACHING - my main goal for today. I finished my Hebrew on Saturday expressly so I'd have more time to work on my teaching today.
-Hebrew class; we're meeting early, 4:45, to give us time to decide what to do next.
-pick up dd14 from synchro practice; dd17 is taking her before she heads to the church for tutoring tonight. If I took her, she'd get home from school (via the city bus today) around 4 and then need to leave again 20 minutes later so I could get her to school by 4:30 before going to my earlier Hebrew class.
-I may go to the groc. store and get that errand out of the way today
The skies are blue and the sun is shining!!
It is cold outside, but the sun makes such a big difference. It's supposed to get up to around freezing today.

Re: Getting Moving on Monday
Yesterday's little birthday party was very nice. Dstepdil opted for a cookie/pizza/cake. I had a sleeve of unopened ice cream cones that I was able to add to the ice cream she brought, which was fun. HRH was the only adult able to refuse all the sweets - he did better than I did. Our card was a "from all of us" with many little animals on the front. So dstepgd enjoyed going around the room telling everyone which animal represented them. HRH was the lion in the center with the big mane, lol.
Later dd and I went for our first visit to ds27's new house. HRH and my ddad will have to go later - it was too cold and windy. We were somewhat impressed and can see why they chose a location on a country road that serves as an out-of-the-way connection between our community and ddil's parents' community. Still, it was bittersweet because we wish they could have moved here already instead of putting that dream off.
Her kitchen is completely open to the rest of the living areas, to the point I believe most visitors will be able to see clearly all around her sink, stove, and every area of her countertop. That's the only thing I wondered about. Otherwise, very well appointed and belies the 1960-something year of construction. There is a good size freestanding garage for ds' work equipment. A huge oak tree, which they've been told could be one of the largest in the county, is in the front yard - huge trunk span. This house was built on the site of a homeplace that burned decades previously, so two of the trees are really ancient and have some history.
I hope I hid my shock that ddil was not invited to my dnephew's bridal shower that I'll attend Sunday. I blithely asked if she'd like to ride with me and she didn't know what I was talking about. That's unfortunate - I can't help but think it was an oversight.
I've made out my 5x5 with
call to cousin
renew library books
Desk Day our household
master bath spif
errands after school run
Otherwise, Focus cleaning is on Living Room this week, with Dining Room decluttering.

Re: Getting Moving on Monday
Good morning, villagers ~
We have another winter storm headed our way with lots of snow tonight and tomorrow. If it actually hits, sewing group meeting tomorrow night will be cancelled.
In the meantime, today's 5x5 in addition to 3Ds:
* menu plan for the week
* filing that did not get done over the weekend
* find old photo of DBIL on canoe trip 30 years ago
* scan and Email photo to DNiece
* finish financial reports for library group, Email to board members
Looks easy enough, but that old photo is the tricky bit. DH is the photographer in the family. I was sure he had the photo albums in his mancave. He says no.
I did not find them when I cleaned out the long-term storage closet.

Re: Getting Moving on Monday
LYNLEE, these quotes are the best!
I've had coffee, but not moving yet. The floor looks great. Had never cleaned it with vinegar, but now I will continue with that new habit! Should do the bathrooms next.
Dreamed that I met 2 of you. Can't remember which 2, though! Then, in my dream, I discovered that IVY was my in-laws neighbor!
I need to quit procrastinating and do some chores. Sometimes I try to avoid this site to save time during the day. But then I find myself back here. May have to ask to be banned!
Good luck with the approaching storm, BOOKSAVER!

Re: Getting Moving on Monday
Hmmmm, need to see if Bookie's storm will hit us later in the week.
I'm up. Woke up at 5:40 after a bad dream. It left me feeling uneasy about dd so want to hear her voice today.
I stayed in bed until 7 and made it, moved into my workout clothes and went to the basement for the Nordic Trak. In a way I'm glad my knees went out when they did because otherwise I might have sold the NT (hadn't used it in over 10 years) and kept the treadmill. Now the NT will be a higher priority 'keep' than the treadmill. Exercise gyms all have treadmills and the NT takes up about 1/3 of the space when set up, doesn't use electricity, and stores easily in a closet (or under a high bed) when not in use. Plus, at this point because I'm not running, the NT gives a better workout. (That might change as I get in better shape for the motions it uses.)
After the workout, I made my green tea, put out the garbage, folded a load of laundry and erased the weekend 'footprints' on the lower main floor. I'm almost done my tea and chocolate now so will head up for a shower.
Choir is canceled today but I still have to go out for blood work. So I might combine that with lunch. Or I might just run out on my own in the afternoon. It helps if dh drives me because I can hold the heat bag in place, rather than having to balance it while driving. But, later in the afternoon, he has a conference call so if there is a backup at the lab, he won't be able to wait.
