I'm having a bit of a "time" of it with the antibiotic eye ointment, seeing and that rot. But I wanted you to know how I was decluttering the main office and I found three quotes to share.

Anyway, I just wanted to share those 3 quotes with you, which I found while decluttering.

Ivy, I liked that comic you described last night.

I'm back home now. We drove in, leaving here at 3:10, picking up the minister and getting there at 4:10 (record fast due to spring break here so no rush hour traffic.)

Dh went off to the library and worked and picked me up 90 minutes later. We had dinner at a pub (I had Irish stew that was very good, he had meatloaf) and then we drove home, driving by our desired new place on the way. It was interesting approaching it from the East and realizing that it is really in a perfect location to anywhere we'd want to go in the area. The more we think about it, the more we are convinced it is the place for us. It took us 34 minutes to drive the 35km door to door so it isn't impossible to keep coming back here for church. I'm not sure about the local churches, I don't think there is one within walking distance so we'd have to drive or take a bus.

I'm exhausted and my cold is starting to come out of me now so I can barely breathe.

To doctor today. Blood work. Nice chat with him. He just likes HRH so much, he admitted to me talking to him way too long at his last visit, chatting about everything in the world. I'm to call nurse back tomorrow at her lunchtime to make sure of his opinion on thyroid med dosage. I told her he'd said it could be several days to a week before the results were back. She rolled her eyes and said, "they always say that. Believe me, we get the results back the next morning. You just call me." It's not that it was anything I didn't already suspect, I was just surprised she was so candid. I thought of all the times we here in the village have talked about waiting and waiting on a dr callback about blood work, and I wondered....

Darling 4-year niece came with HRH's brother to visit. She is so shy! But he faithfully (as always) reminded her, "Aunt Harriet made your quilt." And she frowned at him. " I know that, Daddy!" Eventually, she brought me a book from the grandboys' stack and I read to her while she sat on my lap! Such a sweetie. Then I took her to give apple to the chickens and gather the eggs. She walked right in and found the nest herself, gathered the 2 eggs herself. She's not really fearful, just the shyness. Her blonde hair is still just as light as when she was a baby. They say she sleeps with the quilt I made her every night.

Email from dd33 and her family hopes to drive in by midnight Friday night, so my days are cut out for me.

Took dd14 to Goodwill. She was desperate for jeans fast, and found 2 pair, but they are certainly not perfect. They get her through the current crisis! I found tee-shirts for the grandboys and 2 books.

Hello, villagers ~
Lots of running around yesterday, so today I stayed home and quiet. A little laundry, lots of desk work. Started to gather what I'll need for sewing retreat. Trying to finish a library book that is due in a few days.

We had waffles and bacon for supper so I could try out a tip about cooking bacon in the waffle iron. I hadn't made waffles in so many years that it was all experimentation. Definitely an easy way to cook bacon.

Tomorrow will be all about final preparations to be able to be away at sewing retreat Thurs-Fri-Sat. I will be home each night to sleep, but leaving early and getting home too late to do much in the way of chores.

Harriet ~ Such a sweet story about your DNiece. Isn't it wonderful to know that she will always think of Aunt Harriet Who Made My Quilt as lovingly as you think of your Aunt of the Daily Aprons.

I noticed dh has cut across yard @ turn-around spot and sorta marred up some mud
DH & I went to eat supper, my first visit to new Mexican restaurant
They messed up my order
Came home, ate ice cream & read about Dustin Hoffman in AARP magazine. I love Dustin Hoffman.
Talked to ddad on phone ("business" call re: relaying phone # he wanted)

I am just exhausted. I know I need to exercise, but I think I'm going to get in the bed and read. Between daylight savings time, and the hectic/stressful days I'm having lately, PLUS the expectation of the coming 4 days/nights... yep. I'm going to bed.

OH -- Harriet -- re: extra adult in the room w/the F-troop. * sigh * I already HAVE one!!! Special ed aide comes to class every day w/one of my students. She's not exactly a drill sargeant (sp? -- I did say I was exhausted, didn't I?) but she IS an extra pair of eyes, and she doesn't mind speaking up & correcting someone if need be. This bunch is just... past motivation, I think. 10th-11th graders, in a remedial reading class, which they were placed in b/c of low scores in reading. Either they can't read or won't read, and either case, they don't want to, and they certainly don't want to be in this class. There's about 20 students total, and there are 11 boys. When I start naming the boys to other teachers, after the first 6 or 7 names, invariably the reaction is, "OH MY GOODNESS... you have ALL of them... in the SAME class???"
Yep. Special ed aide says it's basically the same story all day.
