I was actually pretty shy in school. My defense mechanism was to be the class clown. I remember getting into a lot of trouble for being disruptive, and I was brought in front of the headteacher, who said: 'What's going to happen to you; what are you going to do when you grow up?' and I said: 'Well, I'm obviously going to be a comedian.'

Good morning.
I was thinking of some recent posts as I found today's quotes. Its interesting to see some of the views from long ago too.
Work performance reviews and a multitude of assessments exist these days.

my day
My morning gardening seems to have possibilities as a new habit. I can really see the strip I've been working along. In winter I may try seeking out afternoon sunshine though. Both would be nice.
yoga this morning
Walked 3k route with ddog.
I'm going to see if I can keep at keeping up with dishes without skipping a day. Day 2 complete.

Good night

Praying, Dee!!!

Slow starting this morning, but I am sooo glad I got... hmmm... about 7 hours sleep last night, maybe a little more!
For someone who regularly gets 5-6 at best, this is GREAT.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Tomorrow is another day.

Good Morning!

I didn't sleep well last night. My tooth keeps waking me up. I finally got up and took OTC med but then had to wait for it to take affect. That cost me at least an hour of sleep in the middle of the night. This too will pass....

Yesterday I completed my highest # of cards EVER!! 143. I was pleased with my effort all day and am looking forward to trying my best today.

and.....TIME....less than 24 hours. Nurse just called, I'm to keep my thyroid med the same, already called in to pharmacy, and she has the stamp on my hard copy of all my blood work just waiting for the mail.

Wanted to tell that HRH mentioned yesterday it was James Taylor's bday and I was able to say that I'd already learned it here in our village. :) I had neglected to mention yesterday how we do enjoy him in our house. I was so grateful for him during and after the inauguration, when there was so much focus on the shoulds and shouldn'ts of performance and who-knew-what-when, for just approaching the microphone, reaching out as somebody handed him probably the most beat-up guitar in the city, and singing so simply. Rolling Stone (not an outlet usually quoted by me) said, : "In a touching rendition of 'America the Beautiful', Taylor took the stage with an acoustic guitar and wrapped his vocals around shimmering, plucked chords." Reporters said it was the only time everyone in the crowd got quiet!

again, this is not a caught-up post, still working on that... bbl

Struggling here but I'm awake. Slept a bit better last night but still was in bed over 10 hours and haven't done anything but eat so far today. Still have to exercise and s2s.

James Taylor is well-loved in this house too, Harriet. :)

a.m. routine is not quite done, but I've had a different morning.
x dd14 in for bloodwork and then to school
x gassed the van
x checked online bills and paid a couple that were due
x stripped MBR sheets and changed out towels in upstairs bathrooms
x load of towels and bedding going
x I am s2s and have basically had bfast

Off to finish the a.m. routine.

The rest of my day:
-a.m. routine
-at 2, stop by synagogue to pick up my Hebrew lexicon; I left it there on Monday. The teacher emailed me. She is teaching a class there this afternoon.
-2:30 pick up dd14 from school to go to her. .
-3:00 dermatology appt. They told us this (the month we're completing) was her last month on the drug, so we're very near the end!! So excited. Her complexion is beautiful now; it has worked well.
-gym for 30 minutes on elliptical or go for a walk
-supper: ground beef kima over rice, salad, rolls. I'm doubling the kima recipe to bring some to the synchro team banquet tomorrow night over fresh rice.
-perhaps actually get to reconciling the accounts. . .

I need to email the Thursday dinner crew. Dh is not going to dd14's synchro banquet; she apparently told him not to bother - bit of a story behind that, but I won't share details here. I'll just say that dh has not been the most supportive parent of dd14's sports involvement, but he has been trying to be more supportive at the end of the season. Thank goodness synchro is very low time commitment as high school sports go. . . . Anyhow, the POINT to my tangential story is that dh is going to stay home and cook for the Thursday crew, and I need to let them know that.

Off I go.
