Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Regardless of how you feel inside, always try to look like a winner. Even if you are behind, a sustained look of control and confidence can give you a mental edge that results in victory.

I think what is British about me is my feelings and awareness of others and their situations. English people are always known to be well mannered and cold but we are not cold - we don't interfere in your situation. If we are heartbroken, we don't scream in your face with tears - we go home and cry on our own.

I am a great admirer of other actors, but I never compete with other actors. I always compete with what I did last, and I'm my own most vicious critic. So I'm always trying to do it better.

Ivy lost most of that before joining here, btw. Recently she got a strong foothold :) and now is firmly above that goal. Congratulations, Ivy. Very inspiring.

Cowinkie has started a thread for sharing inspiring passages/quotations in Across the Cafe Table.

Lynlee, I like that David Byrne quote and the first Michael Caine quote today. Are you still working in the yard/garden each morning? Walking with your dog?

Harmony, has Mr. Harmony gotten back to normal routine? How ya feelin' today?

Sadie, also hoping your dh is feeling better.

Emptynester, glad to hear Mr. Emptynester is feeling better and better.

Elizabeth, I meant to tell you that sounded like an ideal time with dd the other day.

The story here is dd33's family coming in tomorrow for the weekend. So today and tomorrow are heavy cleaning days at both houses.

Neglected to say my ds27 is ds28 as of yesterday. Kathryn's dd is due a birthday soon as well. Kathryn, I hope you feel very well for her upcoming visit.

Happy trails, BookSaver. Stay safe, sew straight.

Happy trails, Mr. DeeClutter. Stay safe, judge tough.

Harriet, I think you asked yesterday if my girls wear jeans to school every day. They do wear jeans most days, but they will also wear comfortable yoga pants - not too tight fitting. Dd17 was wearing her black yoga pants this morning which made me remember your question. I noticed she is skinny enough that they are quite loose on her, sort of falling off, actually. . . . Their jeans are still all girls' sizes rather than Jrs. or women's. I suppose they should transition to adult sizes someday. Dd17 likes the buttons on the waist bands of the kid jeans; they help them fit better. It took the girls, esp. dd17, quite a while to get to the point of liking wearing jeans. She is particular about how her clothes feel on her; can't be tight. -- I will also add that my girls are no paragons of fashion. They will go for comfort over style, moreso dd17, though maybe it is fashionable for teens to wear bulky sweatshirts to school every day?

Today: Moms group this morning. I'll have 2-3 hours at home in the afternoon, and then I'll pick up dd14 from school at 3:30 and take her to her sewing/design lesson. We'll be home around 5:30 and then the banquet is at 6.

Here we go again dept.

I've been arguing with DH for the last hour (it is only 5:22 am here) about calling 911.

He didn't fall but hip is hurting so much he can't walk (or sleep).

I think I have him convinced. But he wants to wait until daylight (so the lights won't show so much).

SHEESH!!!
