Re: Thursday Thrills
Good morning! LYNLEE, I like that link...esp. the quote about waking up and eating leftovers from dinner, which is what I just did. Have a dentist appt. this morning.
I feel good in spite of being awake half the night. Forced myself to stay in bed and finally went to sleep. Was in a funk yesterday, but all is well today. DMIL is in a long term care facility, now that she has stabilized. DD did lose her job due to budget cuts, but she has a plan...and options. It is doubtful she will move back home, as she doesn't like our cold weather! I am ok with this! I love her dearly, but she is an adult and has her own way of doing things.
Will finish Bible reading and then get ready to leave the house. Will be praying for the MTs today. My Dh has hip pain too and I know a hip replacement is in his future.

The bug guy finally called. He is coming tomorrow morning. Now I need to get in gear and be ready for him.

(((Mt)))
I'm up and moving around more than usual. Maybe I'm turning the corner on the cold. Knees are getting worse.
Just realized I'm double booked tomorrow - meeting with insurance agent and physio. Will make a phone call.
Going out for dinner and concert tonight at the church where I preached in February.
In the meantime, I have housework to do. Especially since there are two meetings in the house tomorrow.

Re: Thursday Thrills
Hello everyone.
Harriet, DH is doing better. Better than I am for sure. He has been back to work, but he comes home and usually goes right to bed. He says his head still feels funny, like slightly woozy. He's not using as many tissues as I am that's for sure.
Lynlee, a couple days ago I looked up those daisies you are pulling. Reminded me of the creeping charlie viney weed I have in my rental house yard. They sure take over. And spread the same way. I wish you luck with them.
Ivy, yes congratulations on your weight loss. I have no idea where I am right now. I wondered if Elizabeth read your post about giving a cat a pill.
(MT & DH) how is he doing? And in the sore hip department, more hugs for (Ellyphant and DH). Boy, I sure understand all that. Sometimes DH can hardly move.
I had so much office work to do last evening and I did start, but 6:00 I decided I'd just lay down for a few minutes as my rib was hurting very badly from whatever I pulled coughing. Got up 10:00 this morning. Yep, nothing in between. I was aware I was trying to get myself awake to at least go out and take medicines, but nope, couldn't do it. I feel better, rib is half as sore as last evening. I am working on that paperwork now.
Kathryn, wondering how you are feeling. Are you doing too much these days?

Re: Thursday Thrills
We are home. X-rays showed hip is fine. No fracture and lots of cartilage. So the problem isn't ortho. They gave him a cortisone shot and sent us home. He still can't put weight on that leg, so I picked up a walker at the office. They have a whole room with walkers, crutches and canes.
He is now napping in his big chair - and I will join him in a minute.

MT, by any chance, has your dh had his sciatic nerve nicked at some point? I had that experience in Nov. I hadn't had problems until Tuesday. I was better yesterday. Just an idea.

Re: Thursday Thrills
I worked on the basement for several hours and got my creative room whipped into something approaching 'shape.' Vacuumed all three rooms (and hall and stairs), including around the edges in the room ds is moving into (the last chance for that until we move) and in my creative room (because I'm piling things up, semi-permanently in there.)
Listened to the remainder of disc 2 of my Saving Jesus video (goal is to watch it all by the end of Lent.) One more disc and I'm done. It is really enjoyable to listen to that while working since it helps me think about the big picture and not focus on the little things ("I've got abundance to share" vs. "how can I live without this?") Really puts things into prospective, almost like asking WWJD while decluttering each item!
Dh called to say he's on his way home now. I didn't have lunch until 2:30 so I need to get my act together and start in on the main floor. I did move a stack of empty boxes down to the basement, and a few other things were put away in the basement where they belong but there's major dusting and tidying as well as vacuuming to do still.
Moved my physio a bit later. It is still in conflict with my meeting but less so.
