Be unselfish. That is the first and final commandment for those who would be useful and happy in their usefulness. If you think of yourself only, you cannot develop because you are choking the source of development, which is spiritual expansion through thought for others.

If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges.

Each Warrior wants to leave the mark of his will, his signature, on important acts he touches. This is not the voice of ego but of the human spirit, rising up and declaring that it has something to contribute to the solution of the hardest problems, no matter how vexing!

I dreamed last night that mamapiano was actively chatting away online, just at various internet places I don't frequent, like facebook pages. In the dream I came upon her chat and enjoyed it. I noticed she was using her own first name and the color green. I suppose I had her on my mind, thinking of her bday! No proper color for her musical notes, of course, except black and white!
Good morning, Lynlee! Thanks so much for interesting knowledge of Australia yesterday. I immediately thought of Nancy and how so often she and I will somehow have the same weather, time after time, though we are nearly on opposite sides of a continent and sort of diagonal. We could think "small world" and not give it another thought, except others in the village, mid-way between us, are reporting the opposite (or 3 different reports). Hard to wrap our minds around the great length and breadth of our continents/countries, isn't it?
I did not get as much sleep last night as I did the night before. Kinda dragging around this morning... and I have a little bit of a headache. Aunt Flo will be here soon, so that probably accounts for some of it.
Waving to all! Hope your Wednesday is wondrous in every way!!!
I'm haven't spent time on PC the last 3 days. Five more days of stay-cation left. This morning I'll take LO to his dental checkup. We should be done by 9:00am so the rest of the day is for fun.
Prayer is when you talk to God. Meditation is when you're listening. Playing the piano allows you to do both at the same time.

Harriet - your birthday greetings are magnifico.
Its interesting too that there is often "interesting" weather here and in US at same time too. Its interesting now forecasting does look at the world as they make predictions.
A little drizzle spread over 2 days and I had puddles again.
I did some more Singapore daisy today - not for long though as I wanted to get to yoga. Also took the stand off the tv, delivered it to the dump, then to town, paid bills, posted a form, bought lunch, mtg and home. waked dog, found I was without poo bags so walked - then drove the route to do PU. My 3k rout is 2.8k. I guess if I walked on other side of the road it would be closer to 3. Caught up with dishes tonight after being revolting last night and leaving them til today.
Curfew calls.
Goodnight.

Yesterday I did 6 loads of laundry start to finish. 3 of the loads were bathrobes and one was towels.
In the past 2 days Mike has asked me to sew a pair of pants where the seam ripped near the pocket and to put a button on a dress shirt. They were both (secretly) taken to Stitch It and repaired by them. Not expensive and not a huge deal. I found out yesterday that he isn't taking either thing on our trip. Grrr...
I couldn't sleep last night because of stuff on my mind. Got up at around 7 and did a few things including consolidating all of my mess to 3 places. My dresser (all trip stuff) tabletop in spare room (stuff the gets stored in suitcases) and my desk. Now that all the rest of the mess is Mike's, he can't tell me to clean it up. (various piles of paper) Underneath it all the place is clean.
When I go for mammo and bone scan, I will drop off all library books on the way there and go to the bank on the way home.
I think I'm going back to bed for a bit.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.
For some unknown reason I was wide awake at 3. I tossed and turned for 45 minutes before I gave up and got up. Started a load of laundry, put dishes in to soak, and answered several Emails. I've been reading blogs since.
Monday's snow is still hanging around in spite of a lot of sunshine yesterday. Today for first day of spring we will be "blustery & frigid" with actual high around 20F and wind making it feel like 9 or 10. At least that's above zero!
Oops, this has been sitting over an hour while I did a few more chores and saw DH off to work.
Today's goals:
* Purge enough papers to fill the recycle bin again
* Sewing group newsletter article(s)
I had a 3rd item but erased it. Decluttering and writing both take so much time that trying to do a 3rd big job in the same day will only set me up for failure.
Harriet, dh is feeling well enough to work. When I went to pick up dh's prescription, there were 2. One for the shingles and Chantix. They had discussed him quitting smoking, but he wasn't committed to it. Evidently his dr.was giving him a strong push by prescribing it. The pharmacist said that a lot of insurance companies don't pay for the Chantix, but ours does. One of dh's coworkers used it, successfully. So I am hoping that will encourage him. He CAN and has quit smoking for as long as 6 months and then gets stressed and starts again. He had quit in the spring of 2001 and bought a new K awasaki motorcycle as an incentive. Then 9/11 happened and he went back to smoking. In the following almost 12 years, he has made a few feeble attempts. I don't nag about it though, because it is a waste of my time. At least he doesn't smoke in the house or our vehicles. I always laugh to myself, because after he comes in from the garage or outside from smoking, he washes like he is a surgeon preparing for surgery. If he hates the smell that bad, why smoke?
Today, dgs8 in now dgs9. The boys are at their dads until Friday. Dd2 is having a birthday party for him at they YMCA. The boys will be swimming and playing basketball. She is having pizza and cake. I can't think of a thing to get him, so he may just get money, unless she can come up with an idea.
Dd2s ex and his wife took the 3 kids skiing. They left Saturday and came back Monday. He told dd2 that he had ski clothes for dgd16. Dgd16 said she looked like an old man in the get up he had for her. It was old rejects from his wife. Dd2 and her kids all waste soft drinks. Her ex had soft drinks in bottles and him and his wife kept watch and if one of the kids didn't drink theirs it was refrigerated until the next time. They only got a new one, when they finished the last one. I don't blame them, because I always shudder at the amount of soft drinks that they waste. Then horror of horrors, they had sandwiches one night and again for lunch the next day. Exsil would NEVER eat sandwiches when he was married to dd2, therefore the kids have never liked them either. The one thing that happened that I thought was not acceptable was on the way home, they stopped at a S onic and him and his wife got soft drinks and the kids got nothing. Dgd16 told her mom that he has gotten so cheap, that she might quit going with them. His wife is high maintenance, so no wonder that they have to watch their money. She tans excessively, has her nails and toenails done and has quite a wardrobe of getups. After knowing him for almost 22 years, I am always surprised that he is still with her. She is a control freak. She has to be the driver, always. He would have never let dd2 treat him the way he gets treated now. I guess that is his karma!
The weather is suppose to be colder starting tomorrow, with a chance for snow over the weekend. I am debating buying groceries today or waiting until tomorrow or Friday.
Last night dh and I took the counter/sink combo off of the bathroom sink. I could lift it off but it was too heavy for me to help carry out. He is going to see if his friend can help him carry it out and then put the new one on. I am anxious to see it.
Dd1 took dgd16 to the orthopedic dr. today. Yesterday they had been there for nerve induction testing. Dgd16 has something wrong with her elbow and it will lock up on her. She has to be in a brace at a 90 degree angle for 2 months. She has to be in it 23 out of 24 hours. She starts 3 weeks of PT, starting tomorrow. She is really upset because this will probably prevent her from trying out for varsity cheerleader. They have to be able to lift someone and extend their arm straight up. She can do that but with this issue, she won't be able to do it for tryouts. If she did and her elbow locked up, someone could get seriously hurt. She works at the movie theatre and usually she is doing the popcorn. With this issue, she won't be able to do that, fix soft drinks or run the register. They do have "runners", who run for supplies and she should be able to do that. I hope so because she really likes this job.
