Dishes half done - load of laundry has been washed and in dryer and sun film put on west window in living room. This time of year the sun is north enough to shine in my eyes when I'm in my chair. So we bought some sun film to put on that window and maybe others if this works out. We can't put the shiny silver reflective on per HOA rules, so we got the limo smoke color.

DH is struggling with getting the door knob installed. I'm not sure what is happening to his cognitive thinking - he used to put together nuclear reactors and now he can't figure out a really simple door knob. His reaction is that it is defective and we should drive 100 miles to take it back. My reaction is to use the parts from the front door (that works) on the back door as we don't use the front door anyway. We can lock it with the dead bolt so really don't need a working door knob there except for looks.

Time to go finish the dishes.

That sounds like a wonderful outlet for dd's creativity and talents, Harriet. It sounds like a good use of the art club too! Dd17 is a member of the art club at her hs, but she has been frustrated b/c she feels like they don't do anything, and the current leadership (all seniors) is not open to suggestions. She thinks she is going to take over next year and reform it.

I'm back from the groc. store. Dfriend went with me. Groceries have been put away, and dfriend is off to meet dfriend S2 for coffee.

Dfriend S has just arrived; she brought a couple of her students with her to do some woodworking in dh's shop. They need stands for some signs. Dh is in his workshop (aka the garage) with them now. . .. .

I'm off now to pick up ds; he has some things he needs to do here.

I cooked omelettes for our breakfast this morning. Then spiffed up the kitchen. I've had zero success getting to post in P.W.Y.C. this morning until now. Bed is made.

Back in from the chicken barn I mean coop! I got the out side nest boxes cleaned up and spiffed up the roost. Got the ice off the water buckets. Rounded up the broody hen from her recess break next door that was frantic to get back to her nest. I got a look at the eggs and no sign of chicks yet. It's too cold for gardening still. ~sigh~

I did get a new blog post up http://speedflyer.blogspot.com/ today.

x ds fetched and home now
x dd14's prescription picked up

Dh has recruited dd14 to help in the garage; last I looked, she was using one of the power saws by herself; dh trusts her - probably more than the students, just b/c he has trained her and knows she knows what she's about. Ds is in there too, helping dh and the students.

OK, I'm off to start a lol, empty the dw, and do my vacuuming chore for the weekend.

It's beautiful and sunny, after a frosty morning. I woke at 6:30 a.m. coughing, but I'm not sick. Just was morning congestion. We got up early, I took a nap later for about 50 min.

I got the 1st load of master bathroom rugs washing, now they're drying and the 2nd load of master bathroom rugs are washing. DH swept and mopped the tile bathroom floor. :D He's cooking his lunch now. I just ate.

The mail came, from an older lady. She writes for a pen pal newsletter occasionally, so I wrote her to tell her how good of a writer she is. :) :!: She wrote back, so today's letter was the 2nd from her. She wrote about where she grew up, places her family lived in olden days, and roughing it, how her mom and dad earned a living, chores she'd do, etc... Her handwriting is so beautiful, her letter spoken from the heart shows how nice of a lady she is. She said she just wanted to show me how she grew up poor (me, too!) and how she's so thankful for all she has today! (Me, too!) It was so well-done and lovely, I let DH read the letter, too. It was like reading a chapter in a book about the olden days. It was a joy to read, she's amazing, and quite colorful and entertaining. What a doll! :D

The day on Sun. will be sunny, too. DH will try to do yard work tomorrow. He's tired from getting up today, did the mopping and does the fireplace insert 24/7. His Mariners game's on, too. I'm working on a story, but think I'll take this afternoon to walk, write on letters, read, and crochet while the game's on and finish up the rugs and get them back on the floor. It's a job we keep putting off, for some reason.

Hope everybody's having Success on Saturday! :D I LOVE that theme! :!:

It's cold here, today. Made homemade hot chocolate. Dh is sick again with sinus pressure and sore throat that is going around amongst his coworkers. He is taking a nap. He sounds terrible.

Got our estimate from tree company. Looks like we will be cutting some small and medium-sized trees on our own. Will have to see how much for just the two big trees from this company.

Talked to Dd. She has applied for 3 jobs in other states. Being a teacher, she will be paid through the summer. I'm sure she will find something as she is very mobile. She learned that from seeing Dh go wherever he needed to for a job.

So nice to see the sun today, even if it is freezing outside! That's interesting, HELIA, about your DFIL. Waving to all the rest of you!

Crazy kind of day - no particular reason. Things just didn't move along as expected. I had hoped to get here earlier but no dice. Weather here is still cold - 34 degrees right now. First we had 2-3 weeks of warmer than normal temperatures and now we are having a week at least of below the norm. I can't wait till it gets warmer and stays that way.

Lynlee, I love the quotes you post every day. Where in the world do you find these quotes? Thank you for posting them. I got a chuckle out of your rant over politics. Believe me that goes on here too. Big time. Both in email and in person right here in the house.

Twins, thanks for reminding me that I need to get started on MY income tax return. I believe I have received all the information I need to do it. For some reason when I get here to the computer I never think about it. Maybe I should make a To-Do list! I don't do that much any more.

MamaP - http://brainyquote.com/ I found this site after tracking some quotes posted elsewhere. Zillions of quotes there and I make no claims to find the best.. Anyway - one day I just started going to quotes of birthday people. Its interesting to see who shares a birthday. Mostly I do not recognise the names.

Saturday news - washing came in and half is away. Bathroom floor is cleaned.
Lights off at 11.45 - listened - no - Played a Louise Hays tape without necessarily listening. Then couldn't sleep. Ended up reading.

Sunday news. slept past prep for Palm Sunday service time.
bed sheets ate in the w/m. I need process them to the line.
Storms forecast for this afternoon.
Currently 93f inside, 75% humidity this autumn day. Summer ensuring we don't forget it.

ok - washing calls
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.
