Well today is my first day of my new position, we got about 4" of wet snow last night but the road in front of my house doesn't look to bad. School is closed for both DS14 and myself so that is nice.

SO nice to see you again, scattered!!

I'm pretty socialized out right now; dfriend is still here but will be leaving for a work meeting in about an hour. She telecommutes for UMich (graphic design) long distance in NY, nice for her!

Yesterday: church, SS, lunch with dh (dd17 went home early w/ dfriend and dd14 had small group), back to the church to pick up dd14, a lovely 2 hour nap , a phone call to my parents to touch base. Then dh and I did our weekly walk (all of 5 minutes) to WF for bread and then S and R were here for dinner. 15 minutes after they left at 9:45, dfriend returned and we chatted for another 2 hours.

Saturday was pretty much non-stop socializing between dfriend, S and R being here in the afternoon with the students S brought over, and small group. SO. . .it has been a good weekend, but I'll be ready to be alone when dfriend and dh leave this morning.

No Hebrew class today b/c of pesach. I am taking dfriend S shopping for maternity tops late this afternoon, though.

My day:

- catch up on laundry
- groc. list and menu plan - will probably buy the Easter lamb roast today; I think we're feeding 15-16 on Easter Sunday.
- groc. store
-exercise in some form?
- other tasks which I can't think of right now
- shopping with dfriend S at 4:30
- supper: leftover chicken and artichokes, rice, rolls, veggie - not sure what sort yet

This morning I worked in the yard an hour - pruning a line of shrubs so that I can get to a section of singapore daisy another day. There was a place under vegetation where it was spilling onto the lawn. I chopped up the branches to squash as many as possible into the bin.
Rang dm today. Talked for an age.

Good morning, villagers ~

Quiet day yesterday to make up for Saturday's activity.

We have received invitations for Saturday supper with DH's family and Sunday lunch with my family. It's going to be a really fun weekend. Must figure out what to wear. A challenge because while last year at Easter we were helping the kids hunt for eggs outdoors in summer clothes, this year we are more likely to have a blizzard.

Today will be mostly desk work. I think I'll put some ham & potatoes in the crock pot for supper.

Yesterday we got the coop doors tweaked so the latches are working on them again now yea! We also got the coop cleaned & did chicken fix it stuff. I dug up some more crab grass so hens had worms for dinner.
We rested and napped & watched "The Bible" with me most of the afternoon H. watched it with me as he had not seen it yet.

It was sunny but cool here yesterday. I got a short walk in and did my miles on the ex. bike as well.

Today coffee & bed are made. h. said he needed a bit a prayer fighting a bit of flu like stuff, his glasses broke and his spare pair are broke too.
My BS was excellent today at #94 I'm happy.

At physio. A short night because I stayed up late writing. The service is almost done but I need to shorten the sermon. It is too long for an outside service.

Dfriend has left. Dh has left. I am ALONE in my house! Aaaahhhh....... (The sound of welcome relief.) I love dh and dfriend very much, but they are both extroverts, dfriend quite strongly so, and I do get over-socialized.

While going through our tax papers this weekend, dh found a sizable check, written in December for some consulting work? he had done for a University in California. One of us didn't bother to open it, assuming it was tax info., filing it with the tax papers instead . . I think that may have been me. Anyhow, I need to see if we can still deposit it over 3 months after it was written.

Not only are we hosting 15 or 16 for Easter, but we will have both dd14 and dd17's small groups here Friday afternoon to dye Easter eggs. Possible 13 girls here to dye eggs!

Off to work on the a.m. routine and then head to the groc. store. I think I will buy for Easter dinner later; I may ask a friend to bring a ham or something to help with the meat.

Kathryn, if I was sitting outside in cold windy weather, I'd appreciate a shorter sermon too!

Went to Sunday School and church yesterday, but I went to the smaller room to watch the service and found that very very nice. Not as much crowding and standing and the music not so loud there. I really liked it except DH still went into the big sanctuary because he sits with the Youth Group. We had a big congregational meeting last eve. about the building program going on...

Sat. we had the insurance agent & his wife here... I tried to tweak my policy too, trying to get something else, but with the new Health Care law they've had to add lots of things to policies and new policies are all much more expensive...so that is the result of our O. Care...and I am better staying with the old one (also too expensive) which is grandfathered in...people think it's good we're getting all these new things with these policies; however, that stuff does not come free... ok off my soapbox

And some very important emails back and forth re: this stuff today... I'll be glad when everything is all set up permanently. DH goes on Medicare in a few months...

We went to dinner with DFiL and his wife Sat. We don't get together very often, but try to stay in touch and visit now and then... their house is a bit unpleasant, needing a good deep cleaning, it's so dusty and full of pet hair, etc., because he is very ill and she has problems too... though they are perfectly comfortable. In the summer they don't run any a/c because he gets too cold and it's like a sauna in there... I'd go help but I don't think they want it..

Today I'm catching up on my accounting chores and I really should go out to visit my ladies in the nursing homes, but I might wait till another day (procrastinating on that).

Nancy, helia and Harriet, Saturday dh and I were in Tractor Supply and we spent quite awhile watching the baby chicks and ducks. It made us wish we could have some. There were quite a selection of chicken themed magazines to pick from.

We had about an inch of snow Saturday evening. It is suppose to be in the low 30's today and will continue to warm up thru the week.

I need to color my hair today. Tonight is the cheerleader banquet. With both dgds16 involved, I am going. Dd2 is doing the video (music and pictures) for it. She has to make 30 copies. This year she is doing varsity and JV. Last year it was just JV.

The brace that dgd16 has to wear for 2 months makes it look like she has a robotic arm.

We had chili for supper last night. So tonight dh can have chili dogs, since I will be gone.

Dms area received so much snow that they had to cancel church yesterday. She had already bought and taken to the church, the palms for the service. She said they were calling for snow, but you never know if it will and she had to be prepared. The town where she attends church also didn't have power, so that was the deciding factor.

Guess I better try to get busy............
