Re: Living Well on Wednesday
On my netbook this morning. DD has taken my computer into work with her. Her co-teacher is even more of a computer geek, so see what she comes up with. Thanks to everyone twirling windows 8 in their minds. Thank HRH for me, Harriet -waiting to see what he says.
Have to do school run in a few minutes. I'm not even sure gd is anywhere near ready. Not even sure at this point that she's "up". 15 more runs to go (morning & afternoon).
I'm off to make sure she's actually up off the couch. She'll say she's 'ready' until it's time to go.

Good Morning!
LynLee - Thank you for the start today
Today's hip pad is short compared to yesterdays. Although I didn't finish all of yesterday's items so they are patiently waiting for me to give them some focus.
After taking LO to school this morning I will make a run to the grocery store. I need items to make up vegetable tray for DFriend family funeral meal before noon today. I keep a variety of ingredients on hand to easily make up side dishes and/or desserts for these meals. However when DH delivered the funds from the church to hostess yesterday, he signed me up for the first item on the need list. It is all okay, but it adds an extra hour of effort on my part (shopping/chopping).
After delivering the food for funeral lunch, I will pick up papers from DMom and work on them for her. Yesterday she called to tell me there was two more papers that need attention.
Yesterday DNephew brought a dump trailer to DMom's house and left it sitting next to the garage for other DNephews to toss items into. The project of sorting/tossing items in DDaddy's workshop has begun. Daddy kept a large collection of "stuff" to use in repairing a slew of items (wood, metal, motors, etc). This process isn't going to be quick (like the outside items) but at least it is started. Everyone is being encouraged to go through DDaddy's tools and take whatever they want. Daddy kept everything organized but there is just so much of it.

Re: Living Well on Wednesday
Spent 9.5 hours in bed. Getting up in the morning is so hard. Dh woke me at 6 but I went back to sleep once he left the bed (and probably dozed before he left!) Woke up at 7:20 and looked at my smart phone but my eyes hurt to be open, they just ached for more rest so I shut them until 8:15.
My leg hurt when I got out of bed and as I wondered about whether or not to do my physio exercises that work on that muscle, I realized I have a physio appointment today so that got me moving slightly faster. I have just 2 hours until I have to be there.
I've made the bed, emptied the dish rack and tidied the kitchen a little. Having my tea now.
Today's focus has got to be on getting focused. I have too much to do this month.

Re: Living Well on Wednesday
Today I got up and was seeing spots so I knew I'd better not mess around and checked my blood sugar it was low 54* so I ate usually I do not eat at five a.m.
Then I went to the basement to check on the newest baby chicks they were out of water some one had put the plastic water transporter container in that I'd specifically said not to use in the bin for them because it was too light and would tip over when they tried to perch on it when drinking. [I guess h. was not here for that bummer! He knows now!]
Next I need to get the food ready for the outside chickens and pullets.
I loaded the dishes and coffee is made h. just got up and I can hear the song birds outside the window.

Re: Living Well on Wednesday
Good morning!
Thank you Kathryn and Twins for the tax advice. I appreciate your input. I am just thankful that when we (dh because he didn't listen to me) goofed up that it was in the governments favor and not ours. I have always been very careful about my tax returns. If I am ever audited, I have all the necessary documentation, so that it is just a matter of showing them and I don't have to be panicking, because I have done nothing wrong. Dh feels the same way and that's why this happened. He would rather cheat us than someone else and that is why he insisted on adding that figure again..................
Better do meds and breakfast.

Re: Living Well on Wednesday
Good morning! Sunshine and blue skies!! Nippy temps, but it is going to warm into the 40s today. I hit a number on the scale this morning that I haven't seen for - I want to say years.
But I think I actually hit it once a year or so ago and had to work back down. So, apparently I cannot eat cake and candy and cookies at will without gaining weight.
Thinking of Harriet's aunt's surgery today and duncle too. . .
Dgirls went to bed last night after I did - and left all the egg dying stuff on the table, a bag of chips on the coffee table + glasses. The kitchen is only sort of cleaned up after cookie making last night too. . . . . I'm not thrilled. Dd14 said they left out the egg coloring things b/c they're going to continue that activity this morning - but dfriend S and her visiting Aussie friend A will be here for bfast in 5 minutes. Dd14 is making crepes, I believe. However, currently, she's on the sofa on her netbook. . . . Dd17's friend's mother has already called, but she was still asleep.
Dh emailed me yesterday another set of info. for taxes - and asked me to find some more numbers. I had already mailed the package. Dh emailed back today that he had already emailed the info to the CPA so I don't need to send another fed*x package. I just need to send him those numbers and he'll email them on to the CPA as well. They should be easy to find.
Dh did call me during dd14's oboe lesson. He did have some business in NL after all; I had forgotten he was on someone's PhD committee (likely the student of someone he knows there), and he had to attend the defense yesterday first thing, jetlagged as he was. He then visited a sister in Utrecht, and then took the train to his father's house, where he is today. He leaves tomorrow.
Dfriend S just called, and they are on their way. Grand Central Station - here we come!

Re: Living Well on Wednesday
Yesterday morning I called our insurance company in regards to getting dh a glucometer. His RX for one, did not specify a brand. The nurse said it was our decision and to discuss it with our insurance co. or pharmacist. The lady at the insurance co told me the Preferred brands and gave me two models of each. She then told me to call the company of whichever I decided and they would send a free meter. So I did and in talking to a lady from that company, I mentioned that I was an insulin dependant diabetic and that I was thinking of switching brands of glucometer for me because of the higher copay for my brand of test strips. So she said she would send me a free meter also. I go to the dr. later this month and I need to have all my RXs renewed and this would be a good time to change.
So I take dhs RX to the pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist and explain the situation. They don't carry the brand of strips that I selected but will order them. But they carry a generic brand K roger, did I want to go with that? He finally said they would check into both and for me to call later and see what they found out.
Later I decide to call the insurance company again and talk to a different gal. Then dh came home and when I told him all this and that he would be getting a free meter in the mail. He said just call the pharmacy and go with the generic. So I called and talked to an assistant and told her we would go with the generic for dh. Shortly the pharmacist called back and said that he had checked and it would cost $25.00 for the name brand test strips and $36.00 for the generic. Just recently they had started advertising that with most insurance companies you could get their generic brand for $4.00 a month. This. drives. me. crazy! This is why our health care costs and insurance premiums are so HIGH! It just blows my mind that an insurance company can determine the cost, instead of the pharmacy. The price should be the same for everyone and then the insurance company decides what your co-pay is and they pay the rest. 7 years ago +, I received the right RX with someone elses name on it and insurance info. When I returned it and got mine, the price of theirs was cheaper for the same thing. Not the co-pay but the actual price that their RX was.
The way this is set up if everything else worked that way, here is an example. My dh works at X, so my milk at say WM, is $2.00. Your dh works at B, then your milk at WM is $2.50, because my dhs employer and your dhs employer have decided that it what we should pay. See how crazy that is? It is no wonder our health care costs and insurance premiums are skyrocketing with such un-uniformed pricing. Okay, I better get off my soapbox on this subject.........

Re: Living Well on Wednesday
Good morning, villagers ~
I'm having the same weather today as Helia.
Sunny and dry = wonderful, even when it's cold and windy.
Sewing group meeting last night was inspirational. We had a short presentation about the county fair's current quilt block contest. Then the main program was about Quilts of Valor. Several members brought a variety of projects to show -- curtain valances, quilts, scarves for teenagers, woman's dress, toddler's dress, woman's jacket, decorative pillows, kitchen towels with applique embellishments and hand embroidery. I felt a bit intimidated showing my simple travel slippers and sewing machine mat, but wanted to prove the point that members don't always have to show complicated projects.
CI from Monday's posted goals for the week after I went back and corrected the numbered list -- a rough morning when I couldn't even count to 10!
:
1) Sewing group financial files = updated to the point that I was prepared to answer questions at last night's meeting. No one asked, but I was ready.
2) Library group financial files = updated to the point that I could send out preliminary reports this morning. I'm missing a piece of info that I need for tomorrow night's meeting. Luckily it is not crucial so I can print reports tomorrow even if I don't have it by then.
4) and 5) Meeting prep and Meeting = Completed for sewing group
9) Bills = Done!
3) Filing, 4) Meeting prep and 6) Meeting for library group = in process, scheduled for finishing tomorrow.
Today is Apron Day at home so the trash and recycle bins can be full when they go to the curb tonight.
