All ready for church -early. DD is just starting -glad she can have a relaxing morning.

GD spent yesterday & today at dd's teacher friend's. God bless this friend. We're having her and her girls here for dinner some weekend -soon. Things with gd continue to escalate (badly) so we're glad there are only 53 hours left before they have to have her at the Youth Ranch. Praying this is a really good answer for her. She doesn't have anything left for options -and the things that are out there, she definitely will not like -i.e. a group home or something of that nature. At least the ranch has some freedom. Think they have 120 acres. Each cottage has 10 girls, she will go to a larger school, have her own bike, horses. All things she loves.

Went to daunt's (& uncle) yesterday with dd. Always love getting together with her. (She's 22 days my senior!) So we've always been quite close. But we're also best friends. Then stopped about 20 minutes away to see friends from up home for about 45 minutes. Went to B ooks a M illion last night. Found a small glass angel to put in the water at S mall W orld Tuesday night (in memory of granddaughter, Zoe -her 2nd birthday would be tomorrow). Can't go tomorrow because we'll still have gd here. DD & I have annual passes to D isney so we'll just drive over (40 minutes) for a few hours Tuesday evening. This means a lot to DS-A & DDIL -that we don't forget her.

Have to zero in on finding a flight for dd around May 21st. Think we'll be leaving here May 17th.

I was thinking about the blessing of technology this morning and how it can be used to create community where none would have existed before, or maintain closer connection when distance pulls on a relationship.

That technology can be used to disrupt and destroy is undisputed, but it is used for those ends by people doing evil things, it is not evil on its own.

I'm up. Not s2s, will skip exercises (ham string is bugging me today), have taken the time to set the table and unload the dishwasher.

Now to eat breakfast or get dressed. Probably the former.

I read through the sermon completely last night and had to make lots of changes to grammar (English is not my minister's first language and she does very well but when I was reading I saw many mistakes that I may not have caught if I was just listening.) I'm leaving some words I would never, ever, say and I'll be holding my nose at the prayers of the people which seem to be a series of platitudes strung together. I suspect that was her illness stifling her creative juices.

Harmony No one is sure how long she'll be off for. At least until she gets a diagnosis or the vertigo goes away. Language may be a barrier here, she informed me she was taking 'sick leave' yesterday, not 'a few days off sick.' There is a difference in my mind but maybe not in her mind. Sick leave is actually preferable since there is an insurance policy that will pay for a replacement after one month. So tomorrow I'll phone Presbytery and get the details of what we have to do to start the clock ticking on the one month.

Well, that was productive! Found a one-way, non-stop flight for $78.90, inclusive (and 2 free checked bags -though she might have none). She hadn't been able to find any a few days ago less that about $150 and landing in Tampa -this goes to the preferred airport -Orlando. Booked it!

Now have to leave for church as soon as she's ready. Could be a 'shocker' Sunday since our coming new pastor (May 1st) decided this week to NOT come after all. Search committee is doing some scrambling, but not everybody knows that this has happened. Understand our "Interim Pastor", whom we all just loved, has said he'll come back in May, but on a more limited basis. That's probably okay over the next several months as so many of our membership are 'snow birds'.

Think I'll let dh know when we expect to be home -hoping on the 18th -except that's a lot of riding in the car for me. We plan to leave from school as soon as dd is finished on that Friday -with any luck at all perhaps her co-teacher can take her last couple of classes. Would be nice if we could get into GA that day. Long trip home from there even I'm afraid. But I also know dd wants to be able to spend at least a couple of full days up there.

Dee praying for your grand daughter and your family - I know it's hard. It sounds like her fear,stress, worry and anticipation of change is taken out strongly on the ones she loves most (I understand) - it's hard for the ones she loves (she probably hates yourself for doing it but she releases the worry fast and hard and immediately . I know she loves you all even if her outer self shows a different side - it's hard for all ). (((praying for her and for your family))) Many blessings to come for her.

Good Morning!

I'm off to a good start this morning. I slept poorly last night, but energy level was good to go this morning anyway.

I'm back among the living after a rocky couple of days. Think the contrast used in the MRI did bad things to my system. But I had a good night's sleep last night and feel pretty good this morning.

I sent an email to the lady that left me in the lurch last Sunday and told her I was taking the early shift but had to leave before clean-up. I asked her to come late and with another do the clean-up. I didn't mention how she left and I had to do it all last week. She agreed.

So I'm off to the shower and then up the hill. DH and I went up yesterday and set the tables, made the iced tea and lemonade, did all the checking, replaced candles, etc. Now all I have to do is make coffee and set out the snacks as people bring them.

I've been out to feed the hens and let them out and the pullets are out in the run. Opening up the coop now so the hens can get a break from the weather. Don't know why I did not think of that before. We still need to pick up the stuff wind we had yesterday blew around. Need to get the nest box converted so we can turn it so the hens will have more head room. Not sure if it will be warm enough or not today for that.

Yesterday we were able to get a few things done went to the library and I got a couple books on beading, then to the store for beads a couple guys were there one an Indian [Nez Perce tribe is 13 mi. from here I assumed he was one.] His pal showed me a set of beading tools, I got and then found a beading board he decided that he needed one too. When got home opened up the packet of mixed beads and spent the evening sorting them out. That was hard on my neck.

ENI've been meaning to ask where you get your beading supplies and if you took a class or not to learn.

The inside needs attn. today especially the dining room and kitchen! Looks like I have my work cut out for me here today.

Hi everybody!

Last night we went to watch dd in a roller derby game. Her team won with over 200 points! Good skating, good defense, clean hits. Plus, we finally met her boyfriend. We also went to a Flea Market yesterday and Mike got a bunch of stuff, so he was quite pleased with his purchases.

When we got home, there was a message from my dad on the answering machine. I have been calling him ever since we got home from our trip, but there has never been an answer. I know he goes to my brother's in Kitchener a lot so I wasn't too worried. I was planning to send an email to my brother and sister last night asking where he was. I called him, he had been in Kitchener (west of his home) and then went to Peterborough (east of his home) to see a dying relative and got home Saturday afternoon. For an almost 84 year old, he gets himself around and keeps very busy without constantly checking in with anyone.

It's sunny today and it's the last day of my month long vacation from work. ~sigh~

Quickie...Waving to y'all....

Want to finish up the house, meaning getting the vacuum cleaner going. I sent Lawrence and his camels home yesterday....Need to do my tile floors as well, but I've discovered a quickie, inbetween times, way to do it. In the past, when my "girls" cleaned my house they used this cleaner called Fabuloso on my tile. My floors looked far better than I could ever make them look plus it made my house smell so clean. Wal *mart now carries it and so do some of my other stores. You can buy it with pine sol in it, but I use the one without it. Plus side...much cheaper than other cleaners and it doesn't require you to rinse your floors.

Now when I'm in a hurry this is what I do....I mix it with water in a large spray bottle. I have one of those floor dusts that looks like a push broom. It has a micro fiber bottom to it. Now I spray the floors and go over it with my "broom" The pads are removable so when one gets dirty, I just switch out and use a clean one. It picks up the dust and drit and makes my tile look great. Every other week, I mop my floors with my handy dandy spin mop using the Fabuloso. I love the stuff.

I want to get everything done before noon...then I'm going to work on the garage. Can't wait to find a home for everything out there.

Here's another dandy I'll share. I've descovered an app for my iphone called trailmix. It has a pedometer and tracks your steps as you walk or run...I also use it when I'm working around the house. It keeps me going. The play list is something you can use at random, or you can select what you want to hear from the list. There's a speed dial that lets you set a working/walking pce as well. I can't remember if I had to pay for it...I think I did..It was $4.99 but worth every penny for me. Its a personal treat to myself. And I find I use it every day. Better than whistling while I work.

I'm still trying to figure out all the insand outs of the app...but I sure am enjoying it while I am learning.... Gonna turn it up and get working.......
