I love history especially about home/farm skills. Actually I enjoy almost all history maybe because I am officially part of history (1/2 a century plus or give or take a couple years) thanks for sharing d nancy

DH just pulled a Tom Sawyer on me. He started trimming the agave plants - knowing full well that I wouldn't let him stress his back like that. So now that they are all trimmed and my arms and legs are all cactus scratches (didn't have long sleeved shirt nor heavy levies on) I can go back to what I wanted to do.

Well those computer gremlins got me for a while. I did my Brazil b*tt lift dvd and then sat down at the computer while cooling off. My df sent me two fb pages on recipes and I got sucked in big time. Not a bad thing since two of the recipes I am going to use for dinner tonight.

I'll share the pages but beware....you might end up getting sucked in as well

Retirement: My current belief is that dh will never fully retire. I need to get back to payroll work before I can retire. This is something I've been pondering more seriously lately.

x chatted briefly with a neighbor out walking his dog; he let his dog come onto our yard to play a bit with Pepper. Several neighbors do that and I'm A-OK with that! It is a nice way to meet other dog people in the neighborhood. (We have an electric fence.)

I have 2.5 hours to get enough Hebrew under my belt to cover our translation work for today. I hope that is enough time. I have a glass of water and my books on the table. Off I go!!

Back home from choir.

It is a glorious day here. No boots, hats, gloves or jackets required (I did have on a shawl.) Sunny. Dh pulled out the driveway markers (3' high sticks with reflectors on them that mark the edges of the driveway and walkways so we know where to shovel or drive in the winter.) I righted the dining set on the balcony (we store everything on their side so the snow will not break the table or chair seats by being too heavy on them.) It will be nice to look out the kitchen window and not see everything on its side. I also brought in the laundry.

My fitbit is charging now, as is my mp3 player. Dh suggested I try charging the fitbit in the car on its USB charger some time. Good idea.

Dd2 kept the girls home from daycare. Dgdalmost2 woke up with crusty eyes. It's going around the daycare, so the dr. just called in a RX. Dsonil has picked it up. Dgd16 will pick up the boys if she doesn't have cheer practice. Otherwise I will walk over and get them and then take them home.

The guy is aerating the yard. It needed it as bad as it needed power raked.

Praying for the victims in Boston. These tragedies are too common of an occurence.

I got home around 1:30 and have napped and relaxed a bit. Dh is playing tennis - he suggested going out to eat but we've been out the last two nights and I don't know if I want to do that. I also am not hungry yet as I stopped at Five Guys for a burger and fries. When I asked this morning about his plans for the evening, I was asking if he wanted us to cook something and he was pretty vague...

Yes, it is so hard to get personal stuff going again at the end of tax season. I called earlier to see if I could set up "bodywork" later this week to work on the aches I have going. Once I get that into place, I'll set up a pedicure appt also, and choose either Thursday or Friday to go to Atlanta. I have a temple Exec committee meeting on Wednesday night so will use Wednesday to get back into temple biz. And tomorrow is "free" as much as possible so far. Next Monday I go back to the office to clean out clean up desk and loose ends.

Five things to do right now:
-call my mom
-start a lol
-get my planner out of the car and transfer over to-dos from before tax season
-email social worker at dsis' hospital re visit this week
-see what we might have for supper w/o having to defrost

Lucky Kathryn putting away winter things. I was deceived by a little bit of sunshine this morning into putting on a spring blouse ... or maybe the temps have been dropping as the day progressed. I finally gave up and pulled on a heavy sweater. I'll finish the dishes while I cook supper, and that will warm up my hands.

Completed my 3 major tasks yesterday with enough time left over to wash a few loads of laundry for extra credit.

Lots of Emails to process this morning, getting ready for a sewing group meeting tomorrow night.

Took the federal tax forms to the post office today just after lunch. Also went to the dollar store to pick up something DH requested, and on the way home saw city workers flushing hydrants.

Usually they have a notice in the post office when they're going to be flushing to warn people the water in homes might be discolored. The dept. director retired last fall, though, so maybe the new person forgot about warning everyone.

Anyway, I have a couple more loads of laundry to do, but as they are light colors I will wait. Luckily I got the white blanket washed with bleach last night, and the other loads since then have been darks.

I had hoped to get my car to the mechanic this afternoon but they were too busy and could not fit it in. Appointment at 11 tomorrow morning. With no clue why the check engine light came on, I don't know how long the fix is likely to take.

That means tonight I need to finish getting ready for tomorrow night's meeting and put the files in the car in case I don't have time to come home between the mechanic and the meeting.

I hate car trouble. The only good thing is that it gives me an excuse to take my big library book along and just sit and do nothing but read while I'm waiting for the car.
