Wonderful day but exhausting and fattening.

Drive up was uneventful. Dh got us there 25 minutes before service. We enjoyed the organ preludes, then the service itself and coffee hour after. Dh is friendly with one of the members and she spent time complaining to me about so much of my friend's behaviour. At one point, she said something three times, thinking I'd understand what was wrong. His sin was bringing his boys to the Maundy Thursday service and having them participate. She had to say that straight-out to me because children being part of solemn services is so much a part of our church's tradition (partly encouraged by my friend) that I don't think about it as out-of-place. I simply listened. And didn't pass along her concerns.

He took his semi-annual shot to get me to move to Kingston and get my MDiv. I said I preferred being a free-agent, not tied down to anything. I pointed out he amused me by in one breath expressioning frustrations with the national church and then wanting me to join him in his misery.

He and I had a spirited discussion about the survey I'm doing. He thinks this is worthless. I took one more kick at it tonight, sending him the questions being asked and saying the national church gets this one shot of my time, energy and hopefulness. If the moderator doesn't take action with this, I'm a free agent and can cast off if the Spirit blows through.

Dh and I expressed by concerns about what to do about the fact we are leaving and do we have that written into the needs assessment for a new minister since the congregation will have a very large hole to fill in its leadership. So he gave us some ideas on how to word that.

We had a great lunch, just the four of us, at a crepe shop and then he went back to work and we took our senior friend to pick up some groceries and then we drove half-way home and stopped for schnitzel. We ended up eating at 12:10 (coffee hour), 2 (lunch) and 4:45 (dinner.) Not sure I'll eat again for a while!

We texted ds at dinner and he was still in customs but was home safe. I called after getting home but he was picking up his car from where he left it so he'll call back later.

I'm exhausted but will do a round of physio while watching The Amazing Race.

What? I'm logged in -now how did that happen? I have no idea but hope I can repeat it.

DD and I went to church today, went to breakfast with a group from church, went to the store, came home and drove to Orlando to I kea. Can we say rain? Got back here and there'd been none.

GD called dd tonight and had dd fairly upset. Just praying dd holds strong, remembering she's given gd her one chance at the opportunity to make something of her life. Certainly coming back home will not be the answer! DD knows this very well and just needs to stand tough.

Going to try to post this and see what happens then. (I'm on my new laptop.

Hi everyone, late check in. DD11 and I went to the birthday party at the indoor trampoline place. The adults were allowed to jump too, but I think that I am the only one to take advantage of it. Lots of fun, I thought. DD only remembers the birthday boy hitting her. Apparently he does that a lot. (Could it be because his mom is XDH's other woman?) Today, DD was sick, I hope it is not strep again. She spent the day lying on the sofa reading, playing games on her Kindle, and watching videos. XDH is home tomorrow getting carpet and paint installed so he can take care of her. (I do wonder if all the home remodeling that has gone on in the past year is preparatory for the other woman moving in or him selling the house. Her furniture is all over the house, but she does have her own apartment.)

This morning, one of the cats threw up all over the bed, so a LOL is drying. When things like this happen, I really miss my dryer. It will take me days to get everything washed and in the meantime, my bed is not all the way made up. When XDH came to pick up DD, he brought ANOTHER box of my stuff. I have returned some books to the library and gone to the grocery store. I have started the cube steak, it will finish in the crock pot tomorrow. Normally, Monday is my grocery day, but I have a once a month dinner with some church people, so I did it early. I am looking forward to the dinner.

I have three more days until I can crochet again, but my arm is not feeling better. Time for more ibuprofen.
