It is suppose to be a gorgeous day here also.

I mowed yesterday and dug dandelions. Even though I had bought a spray for the dandelions, I had been lazy and not used it when I had previously dug dandelions. Hence, I was finding a dandelion here and there with no leaves, just a stem and flower. Needless to say, I am now using the spray.

I have not been to the grocery store all week. Have been out of bananas since Monday but hated to make a trip just for them.

Dgs will graduate in 3 weeks. I really need to dig in and do some deep cleaning, since dm and dsisil will be coming. I also need to gets some flowers bought and potted. There are no flower beds here. I had 4 at the other house. I miss them but do not miss all that weeding.

Guess I better do breakfast, meds, shower, etc. Still need to make a grocery list......

It is a gorgeous day here too!! :) Highs are predicted to be in the 60s and 70s for the foreseeable future. No rain expected over the weekend.

It felt so nice to sleep on clean sheets in clean PJs last night, one of the simple pleasures of life.

My a.m. routine is mostly done. I still need to unload dw and start a load of towels. However, I'm off now to run some errands:
- WW; my scale doesn't show any movement
- bank; dd14 needs $$ for her synchro trip this weekend
- library to pick up next book club book and new book on tape
- groc. store; dd14 needs gelatin for her hair for synchro meet. Plus, I think ds may be moving back home tomorrow -- and I will need to keep a lot more food in the house.

I'll be back home for lunch and to finish the a.m. routine and may do a little puttering before dfriend B will show up at 1:15 to walk. We usually walk for about 1.5 hours; good exercise and lots of time to chat. Our neighborhoods are somewhat hilly too so that adds to the exercise. Then, dfriend S2's boys will be here at 2:45 for dd17 to babysit; hopefully, dd17 will be home from school by then. If she's not, she will be within 5 or so minutes.

Off I go! Have a fabulous morning, all!

I think we have rain coming in tonight and tomorrow here - not as clear right now as it was earlier, tho. The cooler weather is hanging on also.

DD is coming home tonight and bringing some of her stuff, but won't be home for good until May 8, maybe? I think I am getting DS in ATL next Thursday but need to firm that up. Yes, lots more groceries, Helia!

Trying to get my li$t together for the day....I have a meeting at temple that may or may not happen this afternoon, and I'm supposed to be the "pulpit officer" tonight at temple. Also must write and do prep for annual meeting on Sunday afternoon. I'd like to make challah today too. And I'm still in pajamas!

First five:
DPC re meeting today?
start challah in breadmaker
reboot laundry
change clothes
walk ddogs

Good Morning All! It is a Fab Friday here because Mr. Guy and I are finally mended from our bronchitis. Neither of us had had it for years and years and it was a doozie. Just in time now to head for SJ next Thursday to finally see new baby ggrandson. He will be 2 months old that day and we will have our first visit with him. :D Not what we wanted having to wait this long.

((((Harriet)))) living in a 3 generation situation. I feel for you - alot!

I have been following Cowinkie's plans for her Derby Party. I so wish we could be there. (I think we would be invited, right Cowinkie?) I would make some Derby Pies for all. Mr. Guy asked Sweetie if there was off site betting. Sweetie consulted with his attornies, Dewey, Cheatem' and Howe, and they advised no off site betting!  Mr Guy will just have to head down to our local casino to make his bet. Said casino's owner has a horse running in the Derby - Govenor Charlie. Yes, that is the way it is spelled. The Gov is named after one of Nevada's first governors, Charlie Russell. Just a little bit of horse/Nevada history there. We are Derby lovers and never miss watching. We will watch from dd's livingroom.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. :D

Oy, have only done the very long phone phone call. The elderly lady I need to meet with has a degree of dementia that varies day by day, so may be difficult. Almost wishing that I hadn't stirred up this particular hornet's nest, although felt it necessary since she is poor health.

Also phone calls to/from regarding our eye insurance, since dd is coming home and getting an eye exam tomorrow.

Going to start the other four on the last li%t. I still have time for challah, but I'll be running it closer.

Morning y'all....

Thirtytwo years ago today, I was in the "just shoot me and get it over with" stage of 46 hours and 40 minutes of natural labor.
Someone later said to me that I would evetually forget about those pains...Yeah right,...they must have been a man :D

Listening to great tunes while clearing off my desk. Got much accomplished yesterday while shopping, but still need to head out a little later today to see if I can find a piece of luggage I can use I'm like Goldie Locks...I have one thats too big, one that's too small and I need on that is JUST right. I will be changing planes when flying and don't want my clothes ending up in Kalamazoo while I'm in SC.

Something weird is going on in my life...I'm filling it with color. I made an arragement for my kitchen area that is orange, yellow and red. Then I traded in my navy and white dress for graduation for a blue/turquoise/pale green and white shirt jacket to wear with butter yellow capries...What you need to understand is I've NEVER owned anything yellow :o Then I bought several t-shirts..coral, bright blue and green. I'm redoing my front enterance way nitch with white and red flowers....Colors are speaking to me and I'm replying by saying Bring it on ....

I have a whole mess of piddley errands to do...need to find a new bra...uggg...why oh why can't I just insert a straw in my "girls" and just blow them up to be where they used to be. Then I need to return my dress, find a small purse, and stop at Jo Anns to find some buttons. My butter yellow capri's have growgrain bows on the bottom of the legs...I'm into the new comtemporary/taylor look, but the bows have got to go. I'm going to replace them with buttons.

Need to hit Penneys when they open so I need to get going. Norma, you're still invited to my party...so is everyone else in the village :D As far as the betting goes, we have a friend who loves to be the "Banker". We don't do anything special...I like to keep it simple. We gather around the TV to watch the parade of horses with everyone ohhhhing and ahhhing at them.

I provide a list of the horses, strips of paper and a silver bowl. We don't worry about 1st 2nd, and 3rd place. Just pick a horse, write his/her name down on one side of the paper and yours on the back, hand the banker a buck for each bet and then sit back and enjoy the race fo the roses. And then when the horses run all heck breaks out in my livingroom with 30+ people yelling for their horse to win. Makes me laugh cause sometimes the guys make the most noise. Then the horse and person who wins gets the entire pot...in case of a tie, the pot is split by the amount of winners. I think last year's winner won 48 bucks...and the year before the pot was split.

In the past hats were mandatory...a ball cap would do...but some of the women and a few of the men took it to extremes. I was going to make this party hatless but I had too many people wanting to wear their hats. I provide food, mint julips...and no-alcoholic mint julips, derby pies and chips and dips. This year people wanted to bring other foods and of course I said yes. Because I have everything on hand from years before set up takes me just about 2 hours. Easy Peasy and just the way I like it. No muss, fuss or stress...

Gotta go...I hope ya'll are having a wonderful day... cy'all later

Good morning, all.

I'm going to try posting here, again...

Looks like a lovely day, here, too. A bit cool - but it's been a very cool month (with occasional unseasonably warm days.) Spring? I remember Spring? Can we have one, please?

I have an inventory to do today. This is a short one - but it's a long trip - I spend almost as much time traveling to and from as I do on the job. I usually manage to combine it with either another store or an errand, but that didn't work out, this time.

Then, this evening, we're going to a community theatre show a friend is in - so that should be fun.

Cowinkie - I looked at the last couple of days posting - you're from Rumson? My late husband's mother lived there, when we first married... When he was a kid, they'd gotten a bungalow down there (they lived in Jersey City, which is where I met him) and she'd moved there full time after his father died. We used to visit, but I never really saw anything of the town - we were just there to visit her.

I know the Keansburg/Middletown area better - I had family there. (There's still a tiny road named after us, because it ran along my great grandfather's farm - long out of the family, by the time I remember - no farming there in the '60's!) But I spent more time on beaches at Sandy Hook than at Coney Island... and I've eaten at Bahr's... Though I haven't been down there now for probably 20 years.

Challah will be ready to shape in 30 minutes also so I need to get the cookie sheet ready for it to rise.

Waving again to City! Nice to "see" you in the PWYC village. :D
