Jumping into Monday

Good morning, villagers ~
All night long as soon as I dropped off to sleep, DH would snore really loud and wake me up. At 4 I gave up and decided I might as well do some chores.

So far:
1) took meds
2) carried dirty clothes to laundry room
3) sorted laundry
4) mixed a jug of fabric softener (1 part commercial softener to 3 parts plain vinegar)
5) started 1st load in washer
6) put dishes in the sink to soak
7) fed patiently waiting cats
8) folded dish towels and put away
9) emptied and refilled ice cube trays
10) washed half of the dishes
11) poached eggs
12) 1st draft of state taxes
13) flipped clothes from washer to dryer
14) started 2nd load in washer
15) checked tv listings for tonight
16) ate breakfast while reading a couple blog entries
17) washed a few dishes, found a few more dirty ones to add to the sink
18) hung up 1st load of shirts from dryer
19) flipped 2nd load of clothes from washer to dryer
20) started 3rd load in washer
21) wrote out this list

Not bad for the first 2 3/4 hours of a Monday. So far I have also drunk 2 large glasses of water and 1 tiny glass of V8.

I am hoping to go back to bed shortly after DH leaves for work.

I'm up, bed is made, dish drainer is emptied and I've cleaned half the stove top (the grills are soaking.)

Sent an email to the accountant.

I had a rough night's sleep due to emotions. Got an email before bed saying Worship Committee has covered all the services until the end of June and they only want to use me for Anniversary Sunday (when we have a guest preacher coming in.) I feel rather insulted. I'm also questioning the point of going to a preaching conference when I can't get work with my own congregation when they are in a pinch and have the funds to pay for me. In my mind, there is no excuse for this except they don't like my work. I had to wake dh up in the night for a pep talk. At least I know he's in my corner.

Hi, Twins' Mom and Kathryn. I'm sorry you're both feeling bad.

I had the image more of splashing into a big ol' rain puddle, or jumping into the deep end of the pool ... but if the term jump-starting gives you a better picture, go for it!

Beautiful sunshine streaming in the kitchen window this morning, gorgeous after all the rain we've had. I just checked the weather forecast to see how long this will last. Probably rain again tonight. Good grief, there's a chance of snow on Thursday!

I've finished washing dishes and a few other chores. I hear the dryer buzzing. I will fold or hang up those clothes and do a couple more things, then go back to bed. I'm running on less than 4 hours sleep, which isn't nearly enough. BBL.

Jumping right in here! I'm s2s and have had breakfast. Meds & bed are done. Did my PODA for today. Been going through drawers, etc to remove things I need to pack. Figured I'd just start puttering along and hopefully not be rushed at the end. Also trying to figure things I really DON'T need to take with me.

Dh had called yesterday to see if dd might want to rent out their motorhome from mid-July to mid-August. I pretty well knew the answer to that one. DD won't be leaving up there until August 8th or 9th and that last week gd will be flying up. Dh didn't know that part of the equation yet when he asked. Means she would have the black lab, gd and herself -all staying where? In our RV of course. Neither of us think that's a good idea! Neither does dh for that matter. Don't think I'm ready to tolerate gd for a whole week in close quarters. Wouldn't be good for me OR for dd for that matter. DD's druthers would be if gd wasn't coming up at all, but it seemed the best solution for her since gd 'comes home' the 1st and last week of summer vacation. Then she comes home for other vacations, but not weekends. Hopefully she'll do well for only a week at a time, but we have to keep her occupied. She'll be able to fly by herself since she'll be 15 by the time she comes north. DD didn't want to cut her vacation short by a week and try to keep her out of trouble here.

I think I'm doing much better as time goes on. Can see the effects of constant stress melting away.

Going to call db/dsisil in the Villages later today to see about going to visit them for a day or 2 this week or next.

I did get a good night's sleep last night and feel almost like 'jumping' into today. But not sure my knees will take even 1 jump!

Meant to say that dd is also going to put their MH up for sale and it might not even be there by mid-July -hopefully. She plans to buy a smaller tow-behind that she can bring back here to use through the winter months. They have a membership in a campground group that they never use anymore.

Oh, Kathryn, I'll commiserate with you! I'm feeling pretty lousy about the vocal handful of congregants from yesterday. I'm sick of dealing with them and feeling unappreciated for what I do. I suspect yesterday's meeting will go down in our oral history as one of the most mean-spirited discussions ever.

Twins, maybe you should just quit and tell them to "jump" in a lake. You have so much on your plate with your dsis, dm and 2 college age children. Life is too short to be tied down to a position that causes you so much stress and leaves you feeling unappreciated. Not to mention that the work involved seems never ending.

I finished my errands about 1 pm Friday afternoon. Once I was home I realized that I had developed a weird cough. It is barky and I don't have a cold. I guess it is the virus that dgd2 has had. Now dgd3 has it. They both ran fevers with theirs but I haven't had a fever.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow the temps have been/will be in the high 80's. Wednesday and Thursday the high's are to be in the 40's with a chance for rain. The crazy weather continues. I opened up the house first thing and turned on the ceiling fans. I am trying to cool the house and then can shut it up and hopefully it won't get too hot. I just can't make myself turn on the ac, when I know I will have to run the furnace again. Everytime I have turned it off these last few weeks, I thought that I would not be needing to heat the house again until late fall.

Guess I better get a shower. I need to run some errands and then hope that I can spend most of the week at home. Hopefully I can get started on all that deep cleaning that needs done.

Yesterday I slept in a couple hrs. longer than I usually do, fighting an ear thing setting me behind on my day. We had a nice time at the Dogwood blossom festival, a couple of vendors had tents coverings blown down in the wind on Sat. night but were still there Sun. when we went to art under the elms.

Then saw a couple of movies on our list "Snitch" h.'s choice and "Safe Haven" my choice; took me through the emotional knot hole on those, both good but a bit too much two in one day for me on that day.

Today I'm up on time I was stiff and achy when I first got up but have worked out the kinks now so that's good. I've fed the chickens they are all fine, no eggs yesterday we have one that's gone broody. So at one point there were three hens in the same nest. [One of the birds is a male I'm thinking b/c I'm finding fertile eggs still.] He does not crow sort of squawks and is gentle with the girls.]

My day is progressing nicely! We have another 40 mph wind advisory for this afternoon. First few things done.

I am just jumping into immediate needs of today. That seems to be how life with a puppy works. She seems to potty 4x the first 1.5 hours of each day. We're doing really well getting the majority of that outside. She still needs to be watched continuously. And she wants to be with someone continuously, which means I am pretty tied down to the kitchen floor as the person who is home most during the day. I will just crate her as needed, and dh is going to build a small pen outside, like a mini-yard for her, so she can also have some free time outside. There, she needs to be watched too b/c I'm not convinced she wouldn't look interesting to a hawk. We can leave Pepper outside with her. She is a cutie. She is a lot more vocal than Pepper was at this age, which I'm not thrilled with. One of the things we like about Pepper is that she is not bark-y. She didn't bark at all until about 11 weeks of age when she had her first puppy play date with Tori. We thought there might be something wrong with her at the time, actually. . . Maia, the pup, also seems to be more or a retriever than Pepper ever was/is.

Besides puppy care (feeding, pottying, playing), I have done about 1/2 my a.m. routine, fielded some couple phone calls, written an email to our pastor asking for wisdom on my next moms group teaching topic, and taken dd14 in for her last pg test for isotretinoin. She finished up her treatment a month ago. So far so good! She has a cream in case the acne re-appears, and if it is severe again, she can go back on the drug again. Not sure I'm so keen on that. Hoping that won't be an issue.

I'm going to move ds out around 12/12:30 today. I have Hebrew at 5:05; we are doing Ruth for our 6 week spring session. I did Ruth in my UMich classes, and the synagogue teacher (a Hebrew prof at UM but in modern Hebrew, not biblical Hebrew; she is Israeli and English is clearly her 2nd language. I really like her!) has asked me to bring my notes. I should review them and Ruth 1 before I go.

I need to go to the groc. store, but I'm not sure that is going to happen today. I do have a lot of frozen leftover kima which we can eat for dinner tonight. Dh thinks we should all go eat in the dorms later this week since ds apparently has a lot of meals left on his card.

OK, pup is sleeping. I'm going to make some lunch for myself, grab suitcases and bins to help ds pack, and then head over to his dorm soon. I'm not sure how to manage the pup; I may feed and potty her before I go. She will just have to stay in her crate while I'm out. She won't like it, but she will need to learn. I may move Pepper's crate into the kitchen too so she can see Pepper. Pepper loves her crate now!
