You reminded me, MT, that I have to call dh's Dr's office to get a new prescription for his o meprazole. They should have a "prior authorization" from the insurance company to go with it. I'm praying!! They would only authorize one prescription at a time. (90 day supply at 2x a day). We'll see how this works.

I've been fussing with anniversary pictures from dbil/dsil's 50th anniversary. She wants prints and I finally got them sent off to W al mart and will pick up later. Have a whole box of things to mail to dh so will go to the post office first & get an "if it fits...." box. They just wouldn't fit in an envelope. Don't want to wait for another 3 weeks to get some of this stuff for him. Think I'll also mail his investment notebook so he can use that for some of this stuff that has come.

Have a LOL ready to fold, did dishes, picked up the living room and entryway and vacuumed. There's so much less to do when gd isn't around. I really cleaned the glass cooktop yesterday -looks pretty good! Someone here recommended a paste that begins with "C". Works good!

Guess I'll head to the laundry room -cleaned that up yesterday. DSIL had lots of shirts from when he worked for the city and dd had them piled in the dining room. I found a large clothes basket we don't use & folded them all and put them in there & stored them on top of a 4-drawer thing in the laundry room. Made lots of room in his closet. He did finally consent to letting her in his walk-in closet (because there is no room and his stuff has spread big time to the bedroom). She ordered several magazine holders (he has tons he refuses to let go of) and she will put them in those & on a bookcase that's in his closet. Hopefully that will give her some space.

I went to a friend's home in a village about 20 miles away for a haircut and style. This was dh's Valentine's Day gift to me! She is wonderful; she attends our church, and so many women have been showing up in church with her flattering cuts! She has an amazing gift of knowing what to do for each woman, taking into account her tastes, her lifestyle, her face, her hair type, etc. I'm SO tickled to have one of her cuts now too! She's a bit more on the pricey side, but I think it was worth it. Now, the quandary will be: do I return to her for my next cut or do I go back to my regular in-town and less expensive stylist with whom I've developed a casual friendship over the past 11.5 years?

I left at 9:25 and got home a little before noon, so that haircut did take up my entire morning. Before I left, I managed to get on dpastor's schedule with a Wed. a.m. appointment, so that is helpful.

I've had some lunch.

My next meeting is in about 2 hours; I'm meeting with 2 moms at the high school re: band uniform responsibilities. One mom is passing on the job (and advice and binders), the other mom is receiving the job (and advice and binders) with me.

Dd14's oboe lesson has been moved to tomorrow afternoon. I have to go to the groc. store, so figuring out my list and getting that done will be next. I'd like to exercise, maybe after the 3 pm meeting? Our sunshine has turned to drizzle, but it is not drizzling now, nor is it very cold. It might be perfect weather for a jog outside! If anything, maybe a bit warm. . . .Also need to finish am routine and get some laundry going. Ds is currently using the machines. --And puppy care will take up a portion of my day too.

MT - will you have access to other computers at the various places along your travels? I have to think hard about being separated from my laptop for an overnight stay. I'm sure I could survive without it, but I don't want to try and find out I'm wrong.

I had more stops than I anticipated, however I still was able to make it home with 3 minutes to spare. The medical supply place really helped me out by giving me a replacement CPAP mask for DH without a prescription. They knew the prescription was being faxed to them (they had heard me call the doctor office twice from their office) but they didn't make me wait for it to arrive. I didn't ask for them to break the rules, they volunteered. However, I guess I'm as guilty as them since I went along with them. [/i

I bought a potted plant and a cute vintage tub with miniature roses blooming to give to DSIsIL. However, when I arrived at her hospital room she had been dismissed. I would take them to her home, but know it would make her uncomfortable (a bit of hoarder situation). I'm not sure what I will do with these plants now. I tried the think of someone I knew in the hospital/nursing homes but didn't think of anyone. I'll continue to keep my ears open for someone who needs a little pampering.

Change of plans. . I took a high-traffic route home from the meeting. Traffic was awful (?) and one intersection was fairly backed up. I arrived home at 4:35. I needed to make a vet appt. for Pepper. Did that and then decided I didn't quite have time to go jogging before I needed to start cooking. Dd17 needs to leave at 7 for a babysitting job, so dinner needs to be done by then. Also, I was never able to get back to the a.m. routine and laundry and a few groceries (non-perishables) still needed to be put away. . .I'm feeling boxed in by my schedule + puppy this week; not much wiggle room. I'm not getting to work on my teaching for next week either. SO, instead of jogging, I'm going to get caught up on the a.m. routine and hope to go to the gym tonight + at least start reading commentaries on the passage I'm going to use.

Off to check on the laundry and then tidy the kitchen.

Been busy today & I feel so much better for it. I'm able to get more done here now that we're not gone at 7:30 every morning. I can do more if dsonil goes out to the shed to work however.

I put a whole bunch of stuff together to send to dh in a flat rate box. Even sent his investment notebook so he can continue to file away reports -some of which I just sent on to him. I'd rather not look (at least not often). Let him do it. Found a b'day card for my daunt (22 days older than me!) and mailed that and the box. Found dd's emails to me with pictures from dbil/dsil's anniversary -figured out how to save them on here & sent them on to W mart and picked them up. Did a load of wash & cleaned the dining room. DSonil has a lot of stuff on the table & came back home just as I was doing it. Assured him I didn't remove anything -just straightened papers into piles. Will seem good to be able to use our table for eating again (up home). Dsonil often eats in front of the tv, but I and often DD, choose to sit at the table. My preference. And I'm sure that will be the rule again once gd is home. They fell into some not so great habits with her and she usually chose to eat on the floor in the living room -and generally made a mess which was very hard to get her to pick up. (If she did).

Hot today -86 I think. Have windows open and fans going.

Just sent dh the instructions for making hummingbird food. Almost time to get the feeders out up there. We don't keep any bird seed because it may call some of those unfriendly creatures.

Actually, OKay brought the cake and it would have had less calories if I had left it alone. I just brought the frosting.

I've been collecting PocketMod knowledge as I traveled upon the internet, some new, some that's older but updated, some that's just under-appreciated. It's posted in the regular thread of the Household Notebook/Planner, and PocketMod forum and if any of it seems like a "keeper", we can post more permanently in the forum's links section.

OKay, could you ask someone who is traveling to her home to pick it up from you? Could you add to the gift by having it delivered?

Productive day.

Dd was dropped off at her friend's place. We got there in time to take her to a local store to pick up some groceries so she didn't have to go out later.

Got to our hair appointments 15 minutes early but were taken immediately. We were the only clients in the shop so there was more hilarity than usual. They were all excited because Martin Sheen had got his hair cut at their sister shop on the weekend so they were showing us photos. He upped their celebrity count (Shannon Tweed and Gene Simmons wandered in to pick up hair products a few years ago.)

We had an early lunch. No lineup at the chip wagon meant a better visit with the owner.

After lunch we took a detour and drove around the area where we intend to move and downtown to get an idea of what our walk downtown will be like. It isn't as bad as I thought. We ran errands, successfully. At Presbytery, I picked up email on my phone and realized I had stuff to respond to so we went to a McD's and I used my computer. I will be going to the Reservation to survey the church there so we are now planning our days more fully. The contact I needed for help with our congregation problems is away for a while so I got another name and emailed the church board chair and had her follow up.

The visit with the accountant went smoothly. From there we backtracked into the city to hit the Chinese grocery store and CAA (AAA in Canada) to pick up maps for the trip and a guidebook for Nashville.

Stopped at the general store for mail and found out my lunch with the postmistress is canceled because she has more medical appointments. I'm very worried about her and wish I was going to be home after her biopsy but it can't be helped.

Dinner was easy (Chinese for dh, frozen lasagna for me) and now I'm dealing with more emails. Dh has a conference call in thirty minutes. I'm thinking I'm might do my clothing swap then.

I need an attitude adjustment! I guess I am over-tired from walking about the store today. DH has been "needy" asking for this and that. Last time he went shopping he got a pork roast that I had to cook and I swear I had all the pots and pans going to get dinner made. I would not have picked something so labor intensive to cook, but he does sometimes when he finds something on sale.

When I did up the dishes, I had the 1 section of sink and counter beside it piled up with dishes drying. Beside this, I cleaned out the refrigerator, made chicken broth from bones & some chicken; I also got the last broccoli from the garden processed. It was a lot of work.

One section of our county got a very hard rain, but all we got was thunder. I should have watered new plants out there but I'm too tired.

Did manage to find 2 pairs of shoes that are more summery looking. I do notice how I don't "fit in" sometimes now that I'm part of a ladies group. It was easier before I was, nobody else cares what I'm wearing I guess. Some of these gals look really put together.

Going to go put my feet up for a bit now.

At least I thought about time zones before I left!!!!

It appears that while Twins is in my time zone, Nashville is not! Doesn't matter for our trip down (we have loads of time) but it means there is one less hour for us to get home because we lose the house when we cross back into EST.

Oh well, what will be will be.
