A New Month on Wednesday

I slept in a bit today and am behind just a tiny bit on my routines,
the baby got here just after I did the morning chicken chores glad I got that out of the way before she arrived.
Journaling is done, I made the bed, and coffee is gone.

Our son was just here he's a pest control applicator got a weed control applications lisc. and put weed killer on the drive way here. Yea I can check that off the list. I'll have to be sure and remember to tell hubby as he's been talking about doing that.

I've done a spiff in each room I've been in today, dining room got some dishes moved I cleared off the top of the china hutch to dust, and picked up stuff in the living room, got donation items loaded in to a laundry basket for the church yd. sale later on this month.

I need to rinse out a couple of shirts next.
P/C is not working as good as I'd like today.

The baby crawled in her car seat on the floor in my office for her nap today while I was on the p/c she fussed a bit and then settled down for a nap after I covered her up. Wonders never cease her parents have been driving her around to get her to take naps! Who knew they did not even have to put it in the car just leave the car seat out for her to crawl into!

Nancy - Smart baby!

I made and cooked 144 meatballs from scratch. Nine meals are now ready to serve with very little prep. I put eight meals into the freezer.

Our weather is gonna be a bit crazy the next 36 hours. It is 80 degrees now.....but not for long. It is suppose to freeze the next couple of nights.....almost a full month past the last typical freeze date. They are predicting this will break 100 year old record. If the weatherman is right, I have about 2 hours to cover up the garden before the cold front arrives with a blast. There is no way I can protect all of the garden, but will just have to do the best I can. It is times like this that I question my sanity of having 20 garden beds.

Alrighty! mounds of hay are piled next to plants. I can't cover the plants yet because it just keeps getting warmer (currently sunny & 83 degrees). The cold weather should be here in about an hour, so when it arrives I'll make a dash out to the garden and dump the hay on top of the plants and hope for the best. If the freeze doesn't get them the 50 mph wind might. I'm not very hopeful, but there is always a chance they could make it. Same with the baby birds. I'm sitting here listening to them chirp..chirp..chirp. It seems we find dead baby birds on the ground after every storm.

Spaghetti is cooking. Meatballs are ready. Asparagus is cooked. Supper will be served soon

Day spent dithering around... I was going to go do an inventory, but instead got caught in a paperwork problem (something I need to do the job had been sent in an unusable form.) That's corrected, now, and then I had the migraine, so the stores will be tomorrow.

Today I've done my stuff for the most part h. is home now I don't know what to do with myself now that dgson is not here. Church night so dd took him with her and will drop him off for that.

I've figured out a plan for dinner at least so that helps.

Chickens are fine I did not have to check on them so much today, I guess I just do it for fun but was not able to as much with the baby here today.

We went for a walk that was nice I pushed her in the stroller. Love the sunshine for that but we still needed a jacket it was a bit chilly at noon when we went b/c of the frost last night.

I'm looking forward to warmer days when we can be out side enjoying it with out having to bundle up.

Neighbors are getting a new roof so I hear the workers putting the bundles of roofing up this afternoon.

Did not get the bathroom done. Did get the van cleaned. Did get dd14 to her oboe lesson.

We had a grand adventure tonight -- we ate at ds' dorm cafeteria. It ended up being very enjoyable, despite some worry by some kids it would be awkward. Many families were eating there together in the cafeteria, picking up their kids. It is a very nice cafeteria, new, nicely done - one wall was just floor to ceiling windows looking west across a grassy field. I was very impressed by the quality and variety of food! Things sure have changed since I ate dorm cafeteria food! There was a huge salad bar with very fresh good looking veggies. There were a couple Korean dishes to choose from, several varieties of pizza, grilled sandwiches, chicken garden salad, and apparently turkey and mashed potatoes somewhere, though i never figured out where. Most of us chose Korean or pizza. There was also a stall of desserts; I had a small piece of dh's chocolate cake. And nutrition info was posted by each entree, which I found helpful. A friend from church, a friend more specifically of dd17's though ds19's age - also at the Univ., met us at the cafeteria and ate with us. It was nice to see her! She is the eldest child of our skiing friends.

We had a hot day today, 81. It is interesting to hear of OK maybe freezing the next 2 nights since we are warmer here, even though we're much farther north.

That's a lot of meatballs!

I've done some puppy care this evening. Now, I'm going to update laundry, clean up the kitchen, and maybe see about that bathroom.

Back from the stress test and I didn't fall off the treadmill. Thought I was going to pass out, however. Took over 10 minutes to get my breathing back to almost normal. I am WAY outta shape.

Stopped by D e n n y s for lunch/supper and could hardly find anything under 1000 mg of salt. Won't eat there again for a long time.

Now time to watch the news and then start cleaning the bathroom. Contractor will be over at 1 tomorrow to make final arrangements.

Home from our evening out with friends. Really nice time with them. Dh is hiking in Peru with the husband so they talked a lot about what gear they were buying, etc.

Ds has gone back to his house. He moved another load out today and then cleaned out his car, complete with vacuuming.

I feel like I didn't get much done. I did laundry and the seasonal clothing swap. Also got a bit of paperwork done. In the car I worked on getting my email in-box cleared out. That's a good task for in the car since it doesn't require internet access.

Now I'm going to ice and do physio. Knees are quite sore today.

It started out with a heavy cloud cover here this morning, then has been raining since early afternoon. We had a heavy downpour with thunder, but it is quiet once again. We've needed the rain! I see yet another winter storm heading across country!

You sure do pack a lot into that first 1/2 hour OKay! That's an extreme temp. change....Hope your plants survive!

I've checked out a few of the threads for May; I think I have a lion hiding in my house, too. Next is to decide what the plan of action will be for the month.

Nancy, so cute of little baby. She must be getting used to the carseat. I remember taking our dsons in the car a few times.

I had a nice talk with my youngest dniece this morning. It was nice to catch up with her family. Her boys are all close in age with our dgkids.

I had a short nap this afternoon...just could not keep my eyes open. But now at 9:30 pm I'm ready to snuggle down with my kindle.

Long day here. Small funeral, then meal at temple and I stayed around cleaning up afterwards. Ended up vacuuming to get up crumbs also. Exhausted when I got home so napped a bit. Dh picked me up and we had a big barbecue meal w friends. Another evening I ate too much.

Ddogs walked and I'll head off to sleep also.

Another long day tomorrow. Will go to ATL to see dsis and p/u ds at school. Also meeting w rabbi in the am.

My cough turned into a full blown cold yesterday. Fun, fun.

It was cloudy and very windy all day. The highest temp was 39. I just fixed the coffee pot for dh and I could hear something frozen hitting the windows. The low is to be 28, so dh drained the sprinkler system again. Suppose to be cruddy again tomorrow.

Early this evening the phone rang and the guy asked for dh. He was in his garage, so I gave the man his cell number. Dh came in really excited. He had bought raffle tickets in Feb. for a drawing for a M1 Garand rifle. These were last used in the Korean war. Anyway, dh won the gun.

I have been sleeping on the sofa, so that I don't keep dh awake. He keeps saying I don't have to, but he needs his rest.
