Back from lunch and errands. Knee is really sore but not on stairs, the rest of the time (this is the reverse of 'normal.')

Car cabin filter has been looked at and vacuumed (needs replacing but I can buy a new filter on the road.) Last bathroom cleaned. Upstairs dusted. Dh topped up the windshield cleaner. I've labeled the engine coolant reservoir NOT WINDOW FLUID because it is pink and the 'clear bug smear' windshield fluid is also pink. We nearly had a disaster. Dh also diverted the gutters into the gardens (we have a trough we direct the water into and that waters the section of the gardens under the eaves.) He's growing garlic and he wants it to be watered while we are away.

Now I have to either start packing (started a list while I was driving in the car) or wash the floors. Ugh... they are very sticky and need to be gone over twice, once with the scrubber, then rinsed. Dinner is leftovers so that's easy.

It's raining, it's pouring the old man is snoring! Rain has been coming down steadily all day. I napped a very long time - hoping I can sleep tonight but Fitbit had indicated I only had six or so hours of sleep last night. Dh put together my desk upstairs in the bonus room so I can start unloading stuff up there later, if I want to get busy. I'm still in pajamas right now, as is ds.

I don't know what we are doing for supper - probably all three of us on our own with the pantry, freezer and refrigerator! Our rabbi and wife are coming for dinner tomorrow night - I think I just decided to do a "Lemon Angel Hair pasta with Chicken and spinach" for supper. I miss our Indiana when I do diabetic cooking as she was a great resource for info and recipes. I think I'll look up her recipe for the Apple Clafouti and substitute berries.

I'm enjoying this quiet day.

Slept all morning (plus some ) -- then s2s & dgson arrived...

Stripped the bed, sheets & underwear in the washer...

Washed dishes...

Need to go to dparents' house & check mail... misc other stuff... grade some papers...

Progressing here. Floors won't be done by me, I'm too sore and still have to pack.

Iced my knee while talking with my senior friend on the phone.

Have got two more letters ready for the mail (one is already on the dash of the car so we won't forget to post it.)

I've packed up the paperwork I need to take with me (all the accounting in case anyone has a question while I'm gone.) Also packed most of my computer case.

Kitchen table is uncharacteristically bare. That's what happens when I go away - there's a push to get paperwork done.

Lucylee just reminded me I have to get the clothes off the line. Once they were hung out, I crossed "do laundry" off my list, but technically, it isn't finished yet!

Packing is going too slowly.

Dh emptied every one of his drawers, shelves and closet plus the bins in the basement and got 2 garbage bag full of clothes to pass along to Goodwill. We took one bag of my things in today. I feel bad because I have way more than he does but I did get rid of 1 bag spring so I've at least done this before. This is his first big purge in a decade. All his clothes (except tux and tux shirts) now fit in his dressing room. That may not sound impressive but the term dressing room is an exaggeration. He has a 30" wide closet and a 32" wide, 2-drawer, 2 shelf wardrobe. Basically, I booted his clothes out of the bedroom so I'd have more room and marketed as giving him his own dressing room.

I have one bin of off-season clothes in the basement plus two hanging storage bags, and upstairs I have 9 drawers plus an 8' closet in our bedroom. (Actually writing that sickens me because it proves I have too many clothes and yet I keep downsizing and downsizing. The problem is I keep fluctuating in weight and so keep multiple sizes of things.) I actually have 2 drawers of just socks (not deep but still large) and alternate between my summer and winter themed socks. I'm known for my socks, especially at physio where the girl hooking me up to the muscle stimulator checks my socks each time and comments on them.

I'm off to bed now. Not really - I'll continue packing but I'll shut down my computer now.

Harriet, thank you for doing your wonderful graphics in honor of Sadie's birthday.

Today was dgd3s first dance recital. There are only 4 in her beginning class. They did (?) the macarena. They all had stage fright but were very cute anyway.

We came home and started to watch the Nationwide race. Then I realized it was time for the derby, so watched it and then promptly took a nap. Dd1 called about 6:40 to see if I wanted to walk. She actually didn't and neither did I, because with the wind blowing it is chilly. Since I was napping when she called, we hadn't eaten supper. She had called also to see if I wanted chicken tetrazinni, that was leftover from the Bible Bowl lunch. When I told her we hadn't eaten, she brought it right over. That meal was a real blessing and so delicious.

Better get off for now. My daunt is in the hospital awaiting heart surgery on Monday. I had called her awhile ago and she was taking a bath, so I said I would call later. It's later, so I better do that.

Twins: is your fitbit on sensitive or normal tracking for sleep. I found sensitive was too depressing for me (I seldom got over 6 hours sleep even though I'm in bed for 8 - 9) so I moved it back to normal (which isn't sensitive enough.)

So much company today in and out today that I never even got to the computer until late afternoon. Dd14 left with dstepson's family after their nice long visit and is spending the night with them. Ds28 had his dbil here and he took a photo of ds and Sam in front of the azalea in its wildest moment of bloom - it was a giant velvet fuschia ball. The coming rains will probably ruin it. Ds' other dbil is doing his Eagle Scout Project and they were here borrowing the tractor for that.

I just got a laundry load of jeans hung to drip-dry and started up the dishwasher. HRH is still not to bed because his online group is reeling from the death of a second member in a very short while. They can hear each other as they chat and he's a little shook up to hear several tough guys crying tonight.

Lilac, I hope your aunt's surgery goes well.

I have my 5x5 made out for tomorrow.
