Good morning, ((lucylee))! So good to hear from you and your family. You've been uppermost in our thoughts. I'm thinking that at 3 a.m. when you said "tomorrow" you meant now (smile), so sending "you can handle it" vibes as you deal with a lot of decision making and planning today.

citylady I find that a renovation of my cardfile gets me inspired and my house benefits!! Have fun with yours!

BookSaver, you made me think of others we haven't seen for several days. Sewing group meeting sounds fun.

OKay, I became a little indignant last evening on LO's behalf. For the girlfriend to lead group conversation constantly is highly unusual, especially since she is so young and has the added attention-diverting aspect of her 3-year-old child. But it could certainly be accepted. Pointed, constant direction to LO is too presumptuous and negative to accept.

Thanks to the In Canadas, who felt they'd arrived in our area early enough yesterday evening that they could give some unexpected time to a visit with ds28's family. Ds works a 24-hour shift today and would have missed them otherwise. My grandson (21 months) was immediately accepting of both of them, found them quite interesting, and showed them all his household cubbies. Since I know he has recently gone through a very shy stage, I've decided he's a good judge of people! The welcome handshakes were new for me and dd14 - we didn't know he had started doing that! Ddil says he must have seen it and is mimicking it. We didn't realize it, but there had been a milk mishap and ddil was rushing to get a shower before we arrived. Until she told us (and covered part of the couch with a towel!), we wouldn't have guessed.

And then I posted, but it didn't post! Oops - that was this morning at 9 or so.

HRH and I were able to enjoy a sandwich lunch here with the In Canadas and some wonderful conversation. One of the guys would bring up a subject and the other would know a trivia tidbit about it, so I think they could have gone on talking all day. Happy chat about their visit with helia, too. They toured my parents' house with me to help ponder the decisions there. Later they went with me to pick dd14 up from school (she called from school to ask me to be sure I brought them with me to pick her up) and we had pizza at the same sidewalk-cafe type spot we had enjoyed years back when they were able to visit. Then an ice cream cone at a picnic table. (We were finally blessed with a pretty day - the In Canadas are dispelling the bad weather as they go.) They have gone now to get ready for the next leg of their travel, and I had that same twinge of sadness to see them go.

Lilac, what good news for your dear aunt, that she is off the ventilator so quickly.

Busy day! Some of the big rocks -
** DMom, DSis and DNephew came for a visit. They loaded up DDad's JD riding lawn mower to give to a different DNephew.
** DNeighbors came by to leave a horse for LO. She is an gentle older mare, but she is still beautiful. These neighbors are huge horse people so they paired up LO with a horse they thought would suit him.
** Planted several flowers in garden
** Rain clouds were on the horizon so I fired up the mower and got the yard done before the rain arrived.
** Cooked/served 2 meals from scratch.
** Cleaned 5 windows inside/out
** used dremel for the first time in my life. I am making custom irrigation system for the garden. The dremel is used to create the holes in the pipes.

It was a wonderful day. We visited, had lunch, picked up dd14 from school, visited some more, went out for the pizza dinner and ice cream, dropped dd14 back at the school for a dance recital she's attending and then visited a bit outside before heading back early to the hotel so dh could work (he never did get his computer to work on the hotel wifi last night, but I got him up by feeding the internet from my computer to our router and he is using that signal.)

On the way back to the hotel, we remembered to get cereal and milk and salad to make a lunch for me for tomorrow. And there was a store that had an inverter (so we can plug in the computer while working in the car.) Ours died on the way down (it squealed, wouldn't shut off so we had to unplug it, and then we smelled the burning bakelite, so figured it was fried.)

Got back to the hotel and found an email asking me to preach for May 19 to June 2 and then lead on June 9 (our church anniversary so we have a guest preacher.) Good thing we bought the inverter because I'll be doing a lot of work in the car. A bit tomorrow, to at least rough out the service but it is a scenic drive so I want to enjoy some of the panoramic vistas, but not too many due to height issues! Then I'll have a sermon and prayers to write as we drive home from Nashville and it will be a push-through drive.

So I'm working tonight too (as well as taking advantage of the free laundry machines here to make the laundry easier.)

I'm making great use of the timer on the microwave in the room. Time to go flip the laundry.

Laundry is done. We are heading to bed. Earliest time yet. See what happens when we don't drive all day?!

Tomorrow we'll drive back across the Appalachians. Not sure if we'll go the 'easy' route. Depends on the weather.

Twins: We'd love to come to the beach with you but if I truly do have good weather-fu over a large area, then I need to be nearer to Lucylee so she can have good weather over the next few days. All the running around she has to do will be easier if she doesn't have to deal with rain.
