End of the week catch up

Post by Twins' Mom »

For me, today is straightening for dcleaning lady and getting on the road to the beach (oh, and packing too!) Yesterday was a long day and truly exhausting for both dh and me so we don't have big ambitions as far as what time we get on the road...

What's on your catch up for the weekend (trip, conference, family time) li&t?

washing done today - though not all in and away.
skipped yoga - and friend came for a visit - I fed her some lunch
another friend wanted to walk with me this afternoon - so we went shorter route - slowly - but not at being overtaken by someone using a walker speed. Dog and I needed to cool it a bit, and make sure lead didn't trip her up
Caught up on dishes tonight.

Safe journeys/travels/playing catch up today .
goodnight.
Just begin.

Good Morning!

Twins - I hope you have a WONDERFUL relaxing time together.

I don't know about catch up, but I am definitely doing the count down! :) Only 8 more times to wake LO up for school.

Last night I walked into the kitchen and saw a big blooper on my part. I'm guessing I did it, but I still don't know how. One of the door windows is shattered. I found a small rock on the porch underneath the window. I'm guessing the lawn mower threw the rock into the window. However, what is bothering me is I always put the mower guard down when I get close to the house and I didn't even mow the yard on that side of the house. I did mow outside the fence on that side of the house but that was 50 yards away from the window. This is the 2nd window I have broke while mowing this year. I'm beginning to wonder if I mower can be too powerful.

My emotions are still raw from Wednesday night meal with GF. I need to decide what I am going to say. I need to write a script ahead of time because I'm so emotional now that I would probably use words that are not nice. And my voice tone would probably be loud and angry. >>something along the lines of Mama SHE bear roaring to protect her young<<< I need to practice a script to deliver the message politely but very firmly as I tell her to BACK OFF.

There goes the timer to wake LO up. Only 7 more days after this one!!

OKay, it's always wonderful when they are done with school for the summer - no wake up calls, no morning rush, less structure. It's equally wonderful when they go back to school!

I have a thousand other things to do, I think. Dh and ds went to an a.m. meeting and then are going by ds's employment so he can sign something he forgot to sign yesterday.

-write a check and note for dcleaning lady
-finish up "dog sitter instructions" and print/email
-start packing (I have a bunch of stuff laid out to go, just needed bag)
-straighten bedroom/bathroom as I go
-s2s

Waiting as long as possible to take ddogs for walk...

Twins, have a great time at the beach.

Okay, at the other house, dh was using a new high powered weedeater, along the back sidewalk. A very small rock flew towards the house and hit the sliding glass door. I heard it hit and it sounded like a gunshot. The outer glass quickly shattered. It didn't fall out, just looked like a busy road map. Needless to say, he didn't use that weedeater again except to whack weeds in the alley.

Okay, I hate that your dgs18 is with someone that is so opinionated and has the gall to correct LO and so rudely. It sounded like she was correcting him to take the attention away from her misbehaving child. This is a fairly new gf, isn't it? Hopefully this relationship won't last long.

I need to buy groceries today. Once I get home I need to clean the covered entryway. During the high winds the other night, lots of dirt and leaves blew in. Then rain blew in there. It is ceramic tile and yesterday water was standing. I used a large squigee to remove the water. When it dried it was just grubby looking. Usually this is dhs job but I guess with his bathroom work, it has been delegated to me. :o

Guess I better do breakfast, meds, shower, etc. Still need to make a grocery list.

Congratulations to Twins ds on his summer job.

I need to write a script ahead of time

Always wise.
OKay, I envision your attitude differently as you speak about this (to dgs18, maybe, first?). I see you leaning more toward a condescending tone. After all, you are the wise and seasoned Mother/Woman/Grandparent/Matriarch. The other person involved is a youngster (no disrespect intended as I say this - she is) who hasn't a clue yet about interpersonal relationships. I can hear you saying, "Welllllll, dear (barely able to hold back the condescending tone), we obviously cannot permit this type of thing in the future." :| I can hear you making statements of fact, for which there really can be no argument. It could almost be emotionless rather than too emotional. You are by far the one in the position of strength.

Hoping Twins' Mom and Twins' Dad have a great, relaxing vacation trip!

Sounds like a pleasant day with friends, Lynlee.

For mom's day I was thinking we would do some thing with the fam. @ dson's next weekend b.b.q. he invited us to. So h. & I could go to the Mexican place that's moved to a new building. Then dd called and invited her self & family along so changed that to the buffet they eat at that place all the time as it's close to their building project. H. & I will go there another time. H. has to work on Sat. so it will be last afternoon or evening. Glad I'm okay with being flexible.

The grange up the road a ways is having a craft sale this Sat. so I'm going to that in the morning before it gets hot out. Need to pick up an Rx as well.

At six a.m. some one is weed whacking or mowing so I guess I could get out and mow! LOL!

Only a bit of baby duty a couple hrs. eleven to two ish, dgson comes after school. Dd has been getting the kids earlier this week at least part of the time. They close on the one house this week so are seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

Cowinkie - such a joyous time! I'm so happy for you and DSon as you celebrate this moment in his life.

Harriet - very wise. I like it! Thank you!

Trying to stay on schedule. This next hour is working on the weekly focus area. My focus for this week is the living room. It is *almost* always clutter free but the dust bunnies can appear in a blink of an eye (or so it seems). Today effort will be focusing on flipping all the furniture upside down and deep clean inside/under it.
