ellyphant, please take care of yourself. Dh had his gb out in August 2008. His first day back at work, he ended up being taking to the ER twice by ambulance. Once from work and once from home. After the first ER visit he wanted to go out for breakfast. Wrong thing to do. Whatever he ate caused him to have extreme pain. Dd1 had taken the rest of the day off after the first ER visit. Her and I were sitting in the kitchen talking. Dh was in the basement. Instead of calling to us, he crawled up the stairs. His skin was gray and he looked like he was close to death. Dd1 took one look at him and calmly asked me to call 911. I have often wondered if they thought he might die, because they had me ride to the hospital in the ambulance, instead of with dd1. He has never had another problem and can eat anything and everything with no problem.
When I met dd2 at the detail place, the guy was not there pacing as he usually is. He was at home waiting on a FedEx package. I guess he figured it was safe, seeing as dd2 is always late. Dd2 called him to tell him she was leaving the car and for him not to clean the glove compartment or console. The last time he did and forgot to put the stuff back, which included her registration and insurance papers. She wasn't happy about that. Anyway while on the phone with her he asked her if it was as bad as it usually is and she said probably. He then told her she needed to have it done once a month. At $150 a whack, she doesn't think so. Is she really my daughter? Because I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for something that I could do myself. We had a nice lunch but she hates being without her car. Guess what kiddo, I hate for you to be without it, too.
I came home after dropping her off at the shop. I regrouped and then decided to go do 4 errands that I won't need to do tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow I can go to WM and the grocery store at some point around all the cleaning that I want to do.
Well I better get off of here and get busy.
Dee, have a safe trip home.

Just checked dhs email and the toilet is in. Dh can pick it up at Home Depot. I called his office and didn't get an answer. I could call his cell but hate to in case he is in a meeting. As long as he picks it up tonight, I am pretty sure the plumbing company we use can install it tomorrow.

Helia NO, not Egypt! She can't go to Egypt. I'm not comfortable with that idea at all. Not keen on Italy either, unless it is northern Italy. Italy will be hassles for her, but she struck me as a self-aware and assertive young lady (I might be projecting my dd's nature on yours since I really only met her for a few minutes) so I'm pretty sure she'll be able to handle it there, but may not like it.
Day is over. Conference is over for me but there's a big concert/show tonight. Got a ticket for dh. Yay!
I skipped out on the last lecture because it was aimed at full-time ministers, not solely preaching. Called dh and had him meet me for Mike's Ice Cream. Very good. On the way to meet up with dh, I bought him a new apron that says "Treble in the Kitchen" and has a treble clef on it. He's actually a really great cook, not trouble, so I looked hard for something bass themed, but couldn't find anything. With this comes permission to retire an apron I made him over 20 years ago. It is rather ragged now but he didn't want to retire it because I had made it for him.
We picked up subs on the way back and will have those (plus baked potatoes from the hotel meal) for dinner. He's working hard to finish something before the concert.

Re: Take a Tour Thursday
Dh came home and printed out the order info and is on his way to HD. I asked him if he was taking the pickup or SUV and he said it should fit in the SUV. I stayed at the door, waiting to see his reaction to the clean SUV. He came back, with a surprised look and said someone put the wrong vehicle in our garage and laughed. He asked how that happened and I told him I had done it yesterday. He was really impressed with how clean it was. Well it ought to be, I learned from the best on how to detail a vehicle. He grabbed me and kissed me. As he drove away, I was laughing and thinking, only my dh would be so thrilled with a detailed SUV. It proves it truly does take all kinds.
For what it's worth, I agree with Kathryn. Egypt would be too scary.
I have to get busy. I repeat I have to...................

Re: Take a Tour Thursday
I've worked a bit on packing. Most of clothes are packed or at least ready to go into the suitcase.
My purse strap broke today so I switched everything over to a tote bag we bought (with a flower made out of treble and bass clefs.)
Dh is getting ready to go to the concert now.
Forgot to mention he'd lost his belt this morning. It was on the bed last night when I did laundry and this morning we couldn't find it. Turns out I put it on the upholstered ottoman and it looked like an upholstered strip.

Re: Take a Tour Thursday
I got a second load of laundry done today, planted 6 marigolds, picked up prescription waiting at pharmacy 3, grocery shopped, twice visited the guys as they worked. HRH was so glad I got the internet ordering done. He gave the kennel our garden hose, so he bought a new hose for us today. I had already bought new hose-end sprayers so we are set. Rains come in tomorrow evening, so we really picked a wise time to accomplish a lot of outdoor work. (who knew we could do that)
helia, yes this is my ddad's kennel near his house - office/kitchen, workroom, bathroom and 8 large indoor-outdoor dog runs.
ellyphant, the dumpster idea was really strange for me, but both dstepson and HRH have worked with them so often through their workplaces that they were comfortable with the concept. I must admit, it simplified their work and gave us all a deadline since we were allowed to keep it 3 days - sidetracked people do very well with deadlines. (smile)
Nancy, way to go on donations delivered.
Kathryn, I'm smiling at the clothing blending into the hotel furnishings to hide. That's the kind of thing that would happen to me. Hope dh feels better and your blisters healed.
Lilac, isn't it nice to be appreciated! Wait... ... he grabbed you and kissed you? Maybe I should be taking notes... ....

Re: Take a Tour Thursday
LOL Harriet, yes grabbed and kissed. Ya just never know, do ya!
Dd1 and I walked tonight. I am just exhausted and have done next to nothing. So tomorrow will be a quick trip to WM to get us by until Monday. Then I will set the timer at 30 minutes per room. What can't get done in those 30 minutes won't get done. Otherwise, I won't make it. Dh will run the weedeater Saturday am and then I will mow. He did tell me that if he needs to he can mow. I want the exercise and hope I will be done with everything. Then all I will need to do is shower, etc.
I have washed my hair so I can color it in the morning. Also need to paint my toenails. I took the polish off tonight so they will be ready to go again.
I better head to bed. Maybe with a decent nights sleep, I can pull this off.

Re: Take a Tour Thursday
Thanks Harriet! Hoping to get a few things done on my day off that I did not get to this week. Sigh glad that I can have a breather, watered and took a walk tonight it was lovely outside.
The baby finally napped a bit after lunch. Dgd never did she was crabby today as well.
After school dgson helped me put an additional hook up for the chicken light in the winter. We moved the ladder back in to the coop for additional roosting area and for the pullets to play on. I've been letting the pullets out for a bit in the evening every other day or so that way they can get used to the out door run. Chickens are all tucked in for the night.

Re: Take a Tour Thursday
Hi everybody!
Did I mention that Mike was going to Cuba for a week?
He left on Tuesday morning.
My only desire while he was gone was to do the smelliest job in the house because strong smells make him sick. I sprayed the oven with "Fume free" (yeah, right) oven cleaner before I left this morning, and wiped it out when I got home from work. I had to pick up rubber gloves before I could wipe it all out. Because it had not been done in about 2 years, it needed another application of cleaner.
Yuck!!
I have a very long list of stuff I want to get done. I have Monday off work (it's Victoria Day here), so I have 3 entire days to try to transform the house. There might be a challenge in there somewhere...
I did the dishes tonight. First time in at least a year that I have had to do that. My thought was "Who wants to start the long weekend off looking at a sink full of dishes and a dirty kitchen." Now I can use the kitchen for other things. I have a lot of paper re-organization to do. I also want to do a bit of deep cleaning. I have even considered washing all the windows inside and out.

Re: Take a Tour Thursday
Concert was fabulous but long. Then I got into IMing dd so I'm still up. Will pack up the kitchen now. Dh is still going strong. He has a delivery to make before we leave internet access. He was up until 1 a.m. last night and it looks to be as bad tonight. Worse when you think that we have 8 hours of driving before we can sleep (so up to 12 hours on the road.)
