Good morning everybody!

Today is the day I am going to get things done! Not long ago, Mike asked if the 15 minutes challenges still existed. I think they can if we want them to.

Off to get my tea and get S2S. Poof!

S2S has been accomplished.
Breakfast has been consumed.

There are 5 large green garbage bags on dining room chairs with the contents of the shredder being placed into each one, a bit at a time. I have been sitting at the shredder feeding it with stuff from the top of my desk. The basket has just been emptied for the second time this morning! When the bags get tossed, they will be in at least 2 separate locations. Yes, I'm slightly paranoid. There are old credit cards, credit information and other personal information getting shredded. There is paperwork from the 80's and 90's getting tossed today.

With MIke not being home and having 3 entire days to do this, I have files all over the place. The office is upside down and the coffee table is also covered. I'm about to drag out the ironing board for another surface to sort on.

All the photo albums are out in the spare room and the table is only being used to sort the pictures and I have 6 or 8 new photo albums waiting with over 200 extra empty pages to insert as needed.

I just hope that by Monday night I can be finished and in bed by midnight.

I have music playing and I want to get this done.

After what seems like a very short night, I am up and trying to get at it.

I should have left the house shut up last night. It is humid and so I have already turned the a/c on. It is cloudy out, humid, with an expected high of 92 and we are in an elevated risk area for severe storms today. The graduation was to be in the football stadium. They are to make a determination by noon whether it will be held there or in the gym. If it is in the gym, each graduate was given 5 tickets. We haven't heard if they are going to allow the overflow in to the practice gym or not, to be watched on a big screen. It will be broadcast over the schools TV channel, live. Oh well, that is all out of my control.

Yesterday's ramblings: Yesterday afternoon ended up being rather fractured. I was home from moms group around 1. Took an hour lunch break, which I probably should not have done. Picked up dd17 at 2:30. Dfriend S2 was here at 2:45; we chatted briefly. I worked on some info gathering emails related to the moms group child care finances. Dfriend S2 was back at 3:50. We chatted and prayed (she is my prayer partner) and then chatted some more until 5:15. She did help me plant some flowers in the barrel by our driveway. I had to leave at 5:45 to pick up dd14 and shuttle her to synchro practice. I didn't get to see the house dfriend A is considering buying, but dh went to take a look. He has the engineering background - besides just being a handyman kind of guy, so he is helpful regarding structural/construction type issues. He said it is a very pretty little house!!! Dh, ds, dd17 and I went out to eat at a quick place last night. Dfriends A and S and R ended up joining us. Dh picked up dd14 from her practice - and then she joined us. Then, my family and S and R went to get ice cream. Dfriend A went back to ceramics class. . . I didn't get ice cream BUT I ended up eating a Panera cinnamon crunch bagel when I got home, so I really can't feel virtuous. (I had a few leftover bagels from the morning meeting.)

Last night, Ds, dh, and I rented and watched (I sort of watched) a movie, The Prestige. It's director Nolan also directed Inception (I liked!), Memento (I liked!), and the Batman movies, which I never saw - and which dh has recommended I not see b/c of the violence (I am very sensitive to movie violence) and darkness. The Prestige was OK, not my favorite but not bad.

Today:
8 - 10 dd14 is driving. She was picked up an hour ago. I'm going to pick up the girls at 10.
11 - dd14 has a friend coming over to practice an oboe duet
- I need to get to the groc. store and get something baked (or dd14 can get something baked) before dh and I leave at 11:45
12 - 1 Dh and I are to volunteer w/ the games at the district band programs "Picnic Pops." We are also required to have a baked good to donate to the cake walk.
1:15 dd14 performs
2-4/5-ish Soup Kitchen; I'm not sure if dh will need help with this or not. I think not since he hasn't mentioned it.
5 - small group

Dd14's synchro team's performances are all tomorrow b/c so many of the girls are in their school's band programs and thus are performing at Picnic Pops throughout the day today. Dd14 has to be at the pool, dressed and ready, at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. It is an hour away, so we'll just plan on leaving early tomorrow.

That is pretty much my weekend. I'm behind in housekeeping and laundry. I'm going to get the kitchen reclaimed and then s2s before picking up dd14 and friend. Maybe I can get to the groc. store before then? Hmmm.......I don't think so. . . . Dd14 just wants to make cookies from scratch, but she has limited time with getting home at 10:20 and then her oboe friend arriving at 11.

Did I mention that I got the oven cleaned. There is still a bad patch that won't come off in the front near the middle.

All paperwork pre 1980 has now been shredded. Sorry if I post too much today, but it's keeping me accountable to me.

As I have been getting ready for company, I have relived dgs19s life. His name is C with middle name being dhs name D. So then there was grandpa D, C D and then dgs19 came up with grandma D. He called me that for years. I have always thought that he was the little boy that I waited 40 years to love.

Cathy, I love the 15s and usually do them as a Round Robin of 3, from TOTH to 15 before the next hour and take a break then for whatever's needed (including CCI checking in here to have a little bragging! ). Then back to it if I can. So you won't seem to be posting too often to me.

Now, see, that's a sensible use for an ironing board. innocent face

Thanks to Emptynester and Kathryn for letting us know how you are. Hope Kathryn's night wasn't so bad.

Afghans from funeral homes are a new concept to me, lucylee. But sounds practical.

Kudos to BookSaver for keeping an injury from being worse and even sticking to an exercise program right through it.

Sheets - we also keep sheets on the 2 beds at my parent's home, ready for the next time dd33's family arrives. It's a time saver to skip the folding and storing steps after laundry, and we know they will be used relatively soon.

helia, being sensitive to cinematic violence has to do with a strong suspension-of-disbelief ability. I have it too. It's what helps a person enjoy literature, cinema or acting. But it shows up horror and violence for what they are, quickly - not healthy entertainment. (Some of IMO there.)

It didn't rain last night! Good grief. I would have watered if I'd known that, and now mistrust whether the rain that's forecast today will show up.

We got enough sleep last night. (An achievement.) Partial Desk Day today.

Slept really well last night, right through a 90 minute power failure. I wasn't sick (although the first hour was touch and go) and have a clear head this morning.

Breakfast is almost done and we'll hit the road. Late. but only about 40 minutes late (which is good for us.)

Sermon. Got to write a sermon today. Half a sermon isn't good enough when they are paying me!

Need to iron what I am wearing today, tonight and tomorrow.

Then I need to slice potatoes. Dd1 didn't want me to do any food but I insisted on at least bringing these potatoes. It is just sliced potatoes, margarine, bacon bits and Cavendars Greek Seasoning. I can put it in my large toaster oven in the sunroom and they can bake while I am mowing, etc.

Better get to ironing.

Good Morning!

I was awake during the night for a couple hours then finished the night with a good sleep. I've cooked/served breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen.

Have been monitoring FB while they discuss/decide whether to cancel LO's TBall game due to the line of storms potentially headed this way. Today's game is located 20 miles North of which appears to be just enough distance for storm to miss it. Tuesday & Thursday nights games this week were cancelled due to storms. This drought stricken area is loving all the rains we are now receiving! Our drought status has been down-graded from Exceptional to Severe. All the local towns are still on water restriction, but at least the drought status is headed in the right direction now.

Last night the FNG ate together and attended graduation ceremonies as a group. One of our young FNG members graduated high school last night as the valedictorian. He has been in the Friday night group since it started meeting together 10 years ago (he was in the 2nd grade when we started). It was a joyous evening for us all.
