(Hanging head) I used that thing. All 3 pairs of shorts look much better. I tried to get it over with fast, like pulling off a bandaid.
Maybe I should put a note on the calendar.
Noooooo, it's not something I really need to remember.
There are 3 dirty towels and the bedsheets to wash. I washed the other identical set this morning, so I will put those on the bed. I guess I have to clear the bed off first from all the clean laundry from earlier today. 7 loads. I hate putting clean laundry away for some reason.
Clean laundry getting put away and filing paperwork are still my 2 worst problems even after all the years of finding the SHE boards.

OKay, I'm glad your family is safe. Here, tornados tend to drop out of the sky for a little while and there's no idea where or when it is on the ground. They may have a path for several miles, but not for miles and miles and miles on the ground. Very scary stuff.
I picked up ds from his job - he had a good first day. Apparently most of the summer interns are related to someone, so I guess I don't mind so much that dh pulled strings for this job. He did have a good day. Dd is spending the night with P & D so dh picked up sushi and I ate a freezer meal. Still need to walk the dog boys.
I need to advance the laundry again because ds said he needs to do some laundry tonight. I commented on his brown khakis and gray and red sheet today that didn't really match, although with the stress level around here this morning I didn't dare comment on it.
-Reboot laundry
-make the bed
-start the li&t for tomorrow
We all need to avert our eyes from the mental image of CathyS doing that "thing." I have a board but I know I haven't used it since we moved here.

Re: Motivated Monday
Today's tornado is on our radio news and they are specifically saying that is it today's not the one yesterday. It is a holiday weekend here and I think some people might be thinking the news wasn't updated since yesterday.
Crossing time back into Canada at our border crossing is currently 2 hours. We breezed through on Saturday night in 2 minutes.
I've dropped dh at the airport. I'm not a happy camper right now, I'm very worried about him and am physically feeling the worry. To make matters even worse, I won't be in contact with him daily for about 5 days when he is in the most danger. Already it wasn't a smooth departure. Luckily we left late but still 10 minutes before the drop-dead time to depart since the route we took had a road closed due to an accident. Got to the airport with 5 minutes to spare.
I'm home now but since I came home a different route, I forgot to go to the church office.
Tomorrow I have lunch with my minister. And then a 6:30 appointment to do a church survey conversation. Wednesday is free, Thursday is church office in the morning, and music in the afternoon. Friday I'll write the sermon (if I don't write it on Wednesday.)
Ds is off Wednesday and Thursday so I hope we can get a bit of the basement and garage cleaned up. And I have tons of gardening to do.
First challenge tonight is to get kitchen cleaned up.

Re: Motivated Monday
Kathryn I just went through something similar. With Mike in Cuba, we have had absolutely no contact. Internet is very expensive there and a 5 minute phone call in either direction is almost $40. Actually hearing the other person is nearly impossible. Please don't overdo the house stuff. I did and now I have a massive mess staring me in the face. I can just pick up all the boxes and baskets and shove them back into the closet, and they will sit there for who knows how long, or I can peel myself out of this chair and get 3 hours worth of work done.
The parts that are done are very nice and shiny and organized. I spent way too much time on the computer and I made the mistake of picking up my book and trying to finish it tonight as well.
Thanks for averting your eyes, Twins Mom... It was rude of me to use that hot thing on the flat thing. The shorts look much better, so I hope it was worth using that nasty thing that is sitting on my stove looking at me. UGH! (shuddering)
A massively huge thanks to everyone for putting up with my attempts at getting some stuff done around here. Mike is landing at 6:30 tomorrow night, and I will be picking him up at 7:30. Knowing him, I will be doing his laundry as soon as we walk through the door. I get to rest next weekend and dd has the semi final game for roller derby next Saturday night.
Turning off computer to blitz through the rest of the stuff before midnight. Thanks! Poof!

Discovered the joy of Ny Quil in the daytime. Couldn't take the drippy nose any longer, so dosed up and had a wonderful afternoon nap. Will take more at bedtime.
Unloaded dw and made meatballs using Panko bread crumbs. They were great. I only ate one though...testing my new digestive system. So far, so good. Exciting to think that it shouldn't hurt to eat now!
DH cut grass and cleaned off driveway. Looks like he is getting my cold, sorry to say.
Hate to see the tornado news. DEE, good luck with the car repair and DH's surgery. Will be praying.

Re: Motivated Monday
Cathy, I would SO have tossed those into a rinse cycle and put them on hangars to drip dry over the tub!
I think you've been a big inspiration except for that, though!
Don't thank us for hanging around watching you work!!! It was ALL YOU, girl! Glad he gets home soon.
I didn't realize there was much to worry about for Kathryn. Definitely will be praying for safety and lots of good communication happening for the In Canadas while one of them is in Peru.
Hope the ellyphant household gets well soon.
Thinking of Harmony and helia amidst the heaviness of life.
Congratulations to Twins' Son for a great first day at work! Tell him when they take a group photo, don't put rabbit ears up behind anyone's head.
They can tell who's doing that.
Glanced over at the tornado news - so devastating. Godspeed to the rescuers.

I haven't watched any news today & dh just poked his head in the door & told me about the monster tornado in Oklahoma. I don't want to watch any coverage, but immediately came here & scrolled through the names of those who posted today, looking for OKay & praying for her & her family's safety at the same time.
(((OKay))), SO glad you & your family are safe. And I'm sorry about the man & his son who died. Will pray for the family.
Be back to cuop another time.

Re: Motivated Monday
LO ball game was a mixture of joy and sadness. The children had a wonderful time. The adults quietly shared updates on friends/family that have checked in & those that haven't been heard from. All of DH and my extended families have checked in. Two from our extended family lost their homes - one home was totally wiped away. The other home is structurally 100% loss but some of it is still standing so they have some keepsakes to recovery. DDIL best friend home was totally lost, but everyone is safe.
I am going to try my best to not going to watch anymore news. Everything I am hearing says it is only going to get much more heart breaking as the search continues. I can't emotionally handle watching the details being shown and discussed. DH is working with group to take a load of supplies. Our church is gearing up to take our mobile clothes closet. It helps to be involved in doing something positive.
Tomorrow is Pre-K graduation. Big day to a 4 year old.
Sweet Dreams

Re: Motivated Monday
Quick check in to say hello. So much going on through the Village. Many hugs sent for all here! I've watched the weather channel for a while.....so sad.
OKay I am glad you and your family are all right. I'm still thinking of Sadie and Lilac, too. Tornadoes here can be bad, but I think not as large and powerful as those out west. Prayers for the family whose father and son passed away so close to each other.
Kathryn, I will be remembering your dh in my prayers.
Dee, I'm glad you were able to get your car fixed and found the problem before something worse happened.
Let's see...back up a few days... *** Friday afternoon we decided to go to dgd18 Spring Concert. I had called ddil earlier in the afternoon, but didn't hear from her till we had just pulled into the school parking lot, so we waited there for her, ds#2 and dgd11. I'm so glad we went, since it was dgd's last one. It will be 3 years till dgd11 will be at that school.
***Saturday ds#1 brought dgs9 and dgd7 for supper/evening visit. They watched a movie then played Wii for a while.
***Sunday afternoon was dgd18's band banquet. Ddil#2 had asked if we wanted to go. We had gone to her 9th grade banquet, but missed the last two years in between then and this year. I asked her how much the tickets were, I would pay for dh and I. She told me that the tickets were no charge because dgd was a senior. I wasn't too sure about that and I was right because I saw ds give the parent volunteer receptionist some money. I asked him about it and he said: "I don't know what you're talking about." ( said with that cute grin of his!)
So we were gracious and said "Thank You!" It was held at Ruth Eckerd Hall and as always really nice. They have their own catering service and a huge banquet hall. Watching the students getting their awards is always entertaining!
I haven't been too motivated for much today, but I did get bills paid for the rest of the month. I need to mail a check and note to ddil#3 tomorrow for our cell phones and Wed. when we're out we'll pay a utility bill.
I sure hope tomorrow's a better day!

Oh, ((OKay)) I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of two homes in your extended family and ddil's best friend's home. Thank you for letting us know.
Sunny reminds me I never posted the TaDa of Desk Day for our household today. Sunny, that was nice of your ds to buy your tickets.
Dove, I understand that feeling of not being up to watching the coverage yet.
