After DH cleaned the water-holding capacitor real well, then got a new gauge for the water-holding tank, our water pressure still goes WAY DOWN after flushing, showers, etc.... So cannot do laundry. DH is now working on the switch to the gauge, thinking he can fix it. :?: Or maybe he'll go into Ace Hardware for a new one. Anyway you look at it, it's good we have bottled water, electricity, TV, etc... At least that's at work!

My summary for the week is moderately challenging with the special chamber inhaler I use 2 x daily, the inhaler, and peak flow meter recording, the pump's water-holding tank gauge, and window washer came. The cat hid behind the washing machine for 6 HOURS after the window washer started his job! :!: :?

DH got to mow, before the rains came, which is fortunate because everything looks lovely. I have an eye infection again, so am not crocheting for the baby.

I did get an acceptance for a short story, which I'm very happy about, so I'd sum up my week as moderately challenging, as I said before. There's good and bad, laughable moments, and times when I just scratch my head. :?:

Finally back home from the cemetery and grocery store, which was very busy. I went to the Wal-mart where we used to shop - there are some things I can get there that I can't get at the store closer to home, and vice versa of course.

We're due at 7 p.m. for dinner at friends', I need to make avocado hummus before we go - hope it turns out okay, if not I think I have a backup plan. Dh has mowed the yard and is at the pool playing "cornhole" and sunning. I'm going to take a short nap now.

Dh and I are still under the weather. I'm a little better than he is, since I'm a few days ahead of him with this lousy cold. I think the cold has been worse than the surgery!

I made a big pot of chili that will simmer for 2-3 hours until we feel like eating. It's cold and windy again today. Yesterday we had the gas fireplace on all day. Will turn it on again this evening.

Made up bed today, unloaded dw, folded one lol. Readings done. Talked to Dd yesterday, so that frees up about an hour today.

Don't know how to sum up this week...we've been better...but we certainly could be worse, so I don't want to complain!
Thanks for "listening." :)

Ds is home again. He got in around 3 p.m. and took a shower and then a bath. I napped during both and then got up to wash the mud off his back. He couldn't reach all the mud on his back but the two washes had softened it up which is a good thing because his back is all scratched and I would not have wanted to scrub. His knees and a gash on his abdomen hurt the most, plus all his muscles.

Amazingly, his time today was almost the same as his time yesterday, not worse has he expected.

He's going to eat the pulled pork for his dinner so I know he'll be well fed even though I'm out.

I napped for 45 minutes and know I slept for a bit of it because my snoring kept waking me up!

The sun is full here so maybe we'll get some of the nicer weather that Dee talked about. It has been miserable here for quite some time. I should spend 15 minutes in the garden but am too lazy to do so. The irises are about to bloom and won't look impressive unless I clear away the weeds.

Forgot to mention that I had someone wondering through my house again this morning while I wasn't around. Got to the second service and they were preparing for coffee hour but there wasn't enough desserts. I still had almost a whole pineapple angel food cake in my fridge so handed my house keys to someone and they came and picked it up. There were only 20 of us in church and 3 pieces of poppyseed cake, 8 pieces of devil's food cake and 3/4 of a 9 x 13 pan of my other cake and everything was eaten up! Both the devil's food and angel food cakes were mine and everyone raved. Yay for mixes!

To summarize this past week...

Mike came home last Monday night after being in Cuba for a week. He has been telling me every day since how much he missed me. He noticed the big and little things I did. The oven and stovetop cleaning being a "Wow" and the fishtank upkeep not being very appreciated because using tap water is a huge no-no. I pointed out that none of the fish or corals died but I won't help with the tanks again. To summarize that, I "should" keep the oven cleaner, like maybe once a month when Mike isn't home on a Friday night. The cleaner works in 2 hours, so overnight isn't needed just because it has an "over night" option on the label.

Because I did so much on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, I had nothing to do for the rest of the week and the place was sparkling clean and tidy. I felt a bit uncomfortable in the tidy-ness of it all. I was able to instantly put my fingers on paperwork that I needed. Why can't I stay on top of paperwork? Filing 2 or 3 pieces at a time is way better than having to go through the equivalent of 3 or 4 cardboard filing boxes full in less than a week. This place was upside down and hard to get from one end to the other without possibly breaking an ankle or a leg. To summarize that, I "should" file every weekend when I am sitting at my desk.

In summary, I have no one to blame for procrastinating except for me. Mike is out of the house at least one evening a week and I sit at my desk at least once a week. Laundry can be put away straight from the dryer.

I have a week until Mike's parents come over for dinner. I can prevent the last minute stress if I get up from this chair.

  The special pump man will get a phone call from DH on Tuesday. DH thinks we need a new capacitor because one of the wires keeps coming loose. It'll be so nice to be up and running normally before the grandsons come to visit- and shower- the end of June. ;)

No, Harriet, I cannot watch recorded shows as the DVR doesn't work in the MH. There is a DVD player but I don't have any. DH wouldn't want to watch them anyway. He likes Wheel, Jeopardy and Food channel. I like news, NCIS and a lot of other shows I don't watch anymore. And he wonders why I read a lot.

Been to church - it was sure good to be back. My goals this afternoon is to clean out the garage fridge, wipe out the MH fridge and find what died while we were gone in the house fridge. I also want to start an on-going list of what I need to load in the MH. Need to cull out some of the canned goods and take to the food bank before we leave.

But next up is to watch the final show of NCIS that we missed while on vacation. (We still have DVR in the house) It is pretty hot outside so I'll wait until it cools off before I hit the garage and MH fridge.

Why aren't neighbours happy when other neighbours wash their windows?

Mike was making sure the air conditioning was working and he had to do some stuff outside. I decided that I should wash all of the windows that I could reach on the outside. At least 3 neighbours made comments. All of them female. Sheesh...

Maybe they fear that they will now have to wash their windows. :)

I was just doing it to avoid my weekly paperwork for work. I'm usually doing it at midnight on Sundays. It's due at 6 a.m. on Mondays. Anything to avoid that deadline. Like F ace b ook. A great timesuck!
