I hope the store will be open tomorrow. If they can't figure out what is going on, I will buy a cheepie to get me thru until the Rally in WY. We have a really nice couple of guys that give us some really nice deals at the RV rallies.

Had a great time at the dinner tonight.

It was a fundraiser for the second church but a good number of my congregation came and we ended up all around a table at the end (didn't all fit before the kids had left to go play.) The youngest couple in the congregation came in at the end and I got to hold their baby while they ate. They were amazed at how good she was but I pointed out she's used to listening to my voice in church!

It reinforced how much we are like a family - it felt like we were all sitting around the table after a Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner. This weekend we spent 3 hours together on Friday night, an hour after church this morning and another hour or more together tonight. Lots of laughter and teasing.

Ds has two loads of laundry done but hasn't tackled the muddy stuff yet. We'll soak that overnight and then I'll run it in the morning. He is so stiff I'm doing the up and down stairs for him right now.

Hi everyone! My week summary: week from Hades! DD11 has a new autism diagnosis, XDH and the other woman are getting married this summer (found out from DD), and DD broke her leg. The good thing is that life can only get better!

Even with DD's limited mobility, I got her up and out the door in time for the 11:00 church service. Only to find out that this was one of the weeks of the combined service where the 8:30 and 11:00 services are merged in to one 10:00 service. Oops. We did get to eat Chinese food though. Because she cannot do anything else yet (doctor's orders), DD spent the afternoon on the sofa bed watching videos, reading, and playing video games. While she did that, I did massive LOLs, a complete car cleanout, blocked the crocheted jacket I finally finished, told the other woman's XDH about the upcoming wedding, and worked on some hand sewing (doll dress). DD has commissioned another crochet project for after I finish her vest: a stuffed dragon.

My intentions tonight: grill some flank steak on my $2.50 grill, update Quicken, pay bills, balance checkbook, and some cleanup.

Tomorrow, I am going to a wine festival with two dFriends.

I have to look up the proper temperature for flank steak now. See y'all later!

My week has been church-filled.

Tuesday: spent the mid-day visiting with our minister, the evening doing a church survey.

Wednesday: Prepared the service.

Thursday: helped in the church office, visited with a senior, choir practice

Friday: Wrote sermon, baked for church supper, helped at church supper.

Saturday: finished service

Sunday: led two services, church supper

I kept up with Dishes and Duds. Dailies half went by the wayside. Got the garbage out. Cleaned the upstairs on Saturday. Main floor is getting desperate.

Spent this evening working on ds's bedroom after I helped him remake his bed (we had to shovel stuff aside so I could walk around the bed.) It is much better now. We found his garbage bin and a recycle bin for him and are using an IKEA bag for his laundry bin (although I later found 3 folding ones in his closet.) I've moved the pantry food and his cleaning supplies out and will mix that in with my stuff although I'm allergic to his laundry detergent so he'll have to just use it for himself. There is room to walk around his bed and his clothes are semi-organized now (and almost all clean.)

The muddy clothes are still soaking. I rinsed and rinsed and got most of the mud out so then soaked them in oxy-clean. After 2 hours I rinsed some more and now they are soaking in laundry detergent. Tomorrow I'll run the washer and see how they turn out.

I'm bleaching a water bottle I found that he tells me had OJ in it that had turned. He found that out before he moved so had filled the bottle with water to try and clean it. So it wasn't disgusting when I opened it to try and clean it but even with a brush there was mould so I've put in bleach and we'll see what happens.

Dishwasher is done so I think I'll head up to bed now.

Looked at the calendar and next week is almost a repeat of this week. Monday a church survey, Tues/Wed writing a service, Thursday in the office, writing a sermon on Friday, Sunday two services plus putting out coffee and tea for a piano recital at the church in the afternoon.

Dh is tucked in a hotel room 4 hours from here. He was fighting wind and high 90 temps. He said he hated to pay for another hotel room but was just too tired to push on. I would rather pay for the room than have him on the highway after dark. There are just too many deer around here.

I keep forgetting to tell my, well actually it's dd2s deer story. Whenever we had our last rainstorm, maybe 7 or 8 days ago, dd2 and family seen a funny sight. Behind their house is nothing but a hilly area with sagebrush everywhere. They happened to be looking out and there was a herd of deer gathered and she said they were just running around in circles, like they didn't know what to do. It's no wonder, no more rain than we get. Anyway she said all of a sudden they all just laid down. When it quit raining they were watching them and they all stood up and shook all the water off. Then they all headed in different directions. She said it was quite a sight to see.

Dd1 and I walked awhile ago. Tomorrow we will start our summer early morning walks. I also need to mow tomorrow. Dh raised the mower wheels up 1 notch because in the backyard it kept looking scalped. The neighbors on both sides mow their lawns a lot higher than ours. Maybe it won't look quite so weird with ours higher.

Elizabeth, how did the exdh of the other woman take the news? In my hometown, while I was in high school, there were 4 couples that were divorced, due to 1 partner in each marriage cheating. In both pairs of marriages, the cheaters married and the ones they cheated on married. They all had kids at home. All 4 marriages lasted and some of them have lost spouses. Elizabeth, I am glad that you have the wine festival to look forward to.

Kathryn, I am glad that you have had church activities to keep you busy while your dh is out of touch.

CathyS, those windows look great.

ellyphant, chili sounds yummy with your cold weather.

Ivy, I hope your dh can get the water pressure situation taken care of on Tuesday.

MT, I hope your phone can be an easy fix, like a battery?

Well that's all I can see to comment on.

Hum....summarizing the week. So much to be grateful for. It most definitely has been full and blessed!

Church this morning was excellent.
Followed by lunch @ favorite restaurant
Followed by trip to Sam's for HUGE list buying. Several from the church worked together selecting/loading church trailer with food items to cook/serve tomorrow in the area hit by tornado. Over 100 people from our church signed up to join the work crew. They will be gathering at the church at 6am in the morning so they can get on site and started soon after daybreak. DH will be joining the the tornado clean up crew, but I need to stay here and do MPB & LO care.

I feel like someone sucked the energy out of me. Hopefully after a good night sleep my energy bucket will be refreshed and full

Sweet dreams.

Oh, I was supposed to summarize...

how can you guys remember that far back?

Um,
I got by the really nice flower place again
Took care of friends of dd's on 2 afternoons
Enjoyed the wonderful concert evening
Got through a difficult day for my ddad Friday
Foliar-fertilized and vitamin-ed the plants
Bought tires - yikes

Both HRH and I hit lower weights this past week. I lost an entire half-pound, lol, so I'm sure it's reassuring to all that I am staying at my usual pace. ;) We think he's seeing a weight he hasn't seen since dd was a toddler, though.

Um, I got good night's sleeps two nights lately. That's huge, right? I exercised almost an hour yesterday.

Didn't freak out when I got the reunion letter. A little when I got the reunion email and wondered how they got my email - that was weird. Only a few of the names also getting emails (yes, they neglected to BCC, sigh) were really friends back then. Jury's still out as to whether I'll go.

My laundry card is coming down to the end of the month just right. 2 mini loads and one regular load needed only. TaDa.

The difficult stuff is done: bills paid (need stamps), quicken updated, and accounts balanced. I have less than $25 left in my checking account. That sounds bad, but since I thought I would be negative after writing all the bills, it is actually rather good. No transfer from savings right now.

I have tried out the grill and it worked nicely. The igniter does not seem to work, but I was able to start with a match. The flank steak was ok, I think I left it in the marinade too long.

I think I will take a break and sew and watch a video. I will have to do a small amount of cleanup, like put the sheets back on my bed!

lilac: The other woman's XDH did not seem to react to the news at all. He has a girlfriend now. Either he just doesn't care, or he is hiding his reaction. Either is possible. As for myself, I am annoyed with them. I certainly don't want XDH back, but I could use the stability of a second income. I also miss the camper.

Elizabeth, I am so proud of the way you have handled all of this. I just hate that it was someone that you considered a friend. I have watched dd2 and dm be cheated on and go thru divorces. I have never understood why someone has to cheat. If they want out, get out but don't cheat first.
