SATURDAY SUNSHINE?

I can hope -along with a lot of you........

Just popping in to cuop and then on to the hospital. Dh is supposed to be released this morning and I have no idea of time. Sure it won't be much before 11, but????

I came home early afternoon and napped and napped. Thought I would be going to dgs13, dsgd13 and dgd18's dance recital. However our auditorium was torn down after the last event last year and the venue is much smaller. Thus there were no tickets. Today I'll be wrapped up with dh. DDIL#2 was fine with my not coming. I really needed to stay home and rest. Took Tylenol & Benadryl at 8:30. Slept all night (one short break in the middle of the night) and slept soundly till the alarm went off at 6:30. I've slowly eased into the day. But now it's time to get rolling. Have to stop on the way for gas.

Will try to check in this afternoon. Dh and I will probably nap off and on. He has to keep his legs UP so won't be doing much. Have lots of offers to do anything that needs doing. Sure the next thing will be to ask someone to get tanks filled for us.

Dh just called -has the "ok" to go home this morning. He's been watching DS-A on the news. As we travel back to our home town there's a house sitting ahead of a T. It was hit last year -after someone ran the stop sign, went through other signs and bushes. Happened again last night -2 guys this time -with alcohol a suspected strong factor. (DS was being interviewed as Deputy Fire Chief -not the "hitters" ). Always get nervous when someone asks if I've been watching the news.

Ok, I'm off. Last trip in for a while I hope.

I slept well last night. Didn't wake up a single time.

Saturday morning biscuits are rising. I think I will skip the hot biscuits (dripping with butter & jelly) and just have an egg with a glass of milk this morning. I am on a learning journey with healthy eating. Cooking food and then not eating what I just cooked, has always been a challenge. Eating out has always been a challenge. Over eating when i am stressed has always been a challenge. Hummmm....seems like there is very little about food that isn't challenging me. I look at people who are at their correct weight and seem to do it so effortlessly, and wonder HOW DO THEY DO IT?! Some day, I hope to have that ability.

DGS16 was vocal with his thoughts about my weight yesterday. Said me going to WW was "silly". He insist I am not over weight. I explained according to the government chart that I was in the obese category (using height/weight ratio). He adamantly declared the chart is wrong. I explained WW is what our family doctor recommended that I do, DGS16 declared the doctor wrong too. Gotta love a passionate teenage boy willing to take on the world as he sticks up for his Nana!

Travels were fine yesterday. Dh cooked a simple pasta dinner w/ salad when we got home b/c I got distracted talking to dd17 and S about the cat.We went to DQ (with S and R) to celebrate the kids' doing so well taking care of everything in our absence. Maia didn't have a single accident while we were gone!!

I got up early this morning to do the cat's meds. The oral meds are still a breeze to give her, but she is now resisting the eye drops. I got one out of 3 sets of eye drops in. I'll need to wait for someone else to wake up to help me finish the rest. I have fed the dogs.

Today:
- dd15 has synchro show at noon which I'll attend, even though dd15 says it won't be great. The girls aren't even knoxing their hair; they are swimming in caps - not head pieces. Still, I want to support her. Dfriend S will be coming too.
- groc. store
- laundry
- housecleaning; dfriends are coming over for lunch after church tomorrow. I should make up labels to use here for all our friends; I actually mention a pretty small number of friends here over and over. These are the chinese/Taiwanese background friends, our skiing friends who attend our church; he works in the same dept. as dh (software side, though - CSE) and their dd16 is dd17's bff, the friend dh took to NL with them last summer. I can't think of a label for them now; "the Cs" or "Ch-s" doesn't work well b/c S and R's last name also begins with Ch. . . . "Taiwanese friends" doesn't work b/c there's a Chinese/T. family in our small group. . . . I'll think about it. . . .Maybe skiing friends will work.

However, I'm currently stuck in the kitchen watching the puppy. So, I think I'll unload the dw and dish drainer. . .

The sun is not up yet here I'm up early went to bed early for a Fri. night. Fed the chickens let out the littlest ones so they don't have to fight over food.

Sipping coffee so glad I got it ready to brew last night. I"m trying a new flavored ID creamer southern pecan quite good. But just in case there are nut extracts went back to the other flavor for my 2nd cup.

This week is great weather for painting I"m sort of kicking myself for not getting a gallon of white for the coop last night while we were at the store. ~sigh~ oh well.

Last night before dinner I dropped of the donations I had rounded up in the car trunk so that was a great feeling.

For Father's Day Month: We've rented the newest Bruce Willis DVD. It's free fishing day in Idaho across the river from us h. was talking about that but dson is not feeling well. It's free fishing day in Wa. too. So he will probably do that at some point this weekend.

Things to do:
A trip to the habitat for humanity store is in the plans looking for sink for the patio area. Open air market today and the new library is opening.
I think I saw a yd. sale sign in our area I'll be out looking in a bit.

Up and walked 3/4 of a mile today. So that makes 1 1/2 miles in 3 days. Tomorrow is a day of rest and then I will lengthen it more next week. My goal is 1 mile/6 days a week. It will be harder when we get on the road but that is my goal.

Today I want to clean my pantry and food storage cupboards. That way I can take the extras to the Food Bank.

Bathroom stuff is in a basket ready for the MH. I'll do the same with the food, put it in a basket in the kitchen. After that I will get all paperwork, titles, insurance, ect. ready out of the den.

That all should keep me busy for a couple of days.

Woke up still sick. At best I am neutral lying completely still and not nauseous.

Kathryn, HRH is saying gall bladder attacks give respect for morphine, but he was interested that you didn't mention a vasodialator and he hopes one was given. When he had his first bad attack at the beach golf tournament, the ER there didn't give a vasodialator as part of standard procedure and morphine gave him less benefit, in fact was given a second time later. Here, after one dose of morphine, he was told they didn't expect relief yet, there was one more step, and then he was given a nitro glycerin tablet to put under his tongue and told it would be about 30 seconds and he would start to feel relief. He says that was just about the timing of it, and they all chatted about why it was their ER's standard procedure. They told him that during a gb attack, blood vessels have constricted, and that in that situation morphine not only can't do it's job as well, it can actually constrict further. So they give a vasodialator to help morphine do its work right away.

Won't there be some result of the ultrasound that would move the surgery up? ((Kathryn)) You know, of course, that laproscopy (sp) has advanced gb surgery so much and recuperation time is much easier now. (((hugs)))

My ddad opened every packet of my instant oatmeal in the middle of the night with scissors. I guess he thought they were cookies in packets, but I can't imagine why he would keep opening more of them. So I had that mess to clean up this morning.

Both HRH and I have pressure headaches this a.m., like sinus.

We still haven't heard from dd14 after her limousine ride and fancy dinner/sleepover. The bday girl is very sweet and I hope she had a great 16th bday.

Now reading this last post from Kathryn - call the doctor. Why are you nauseous, what should you eat, then, what can you expect, etc... ... HRH says the more morphine they gave him after attacks the better he felt the next day, thinking he could take on the world, but his was specifically a blockage and yours may be different.

I need to change clothes and get dMacs to PT for his 11 a.m. appointment - it's probably less than 10 minutes away.

I was just out of sorts last night - went to temple for services but didn't want to....dinner there was excellent but I ate one too many brisket sliders.

Ooops, left this on the computer w/o posting before I took dMacs. He's a tired boy... walking in water and swimming...

We are home from ballpark for a couple hours. LO's team won their ball game this morning, so they are in the winner bracket and play at 2:15. DD is coming to that game. Then we are all going to eat at Italian restaurant together. I know DGS16 is going to eat with us. I haven't heard from DGS18 yet. Strange situation, but I'm looking forward to the time together.

Been home for a while. Stopped at the pharmacy first to get several scripts filled for dh. Didn't notice one she gave me until she had it filled -dh already has it in his repertoire. They eliminated some, changed some and added some. Now to get it all straight. He sees his primary care on Friday (he really wanted to see his regular who is a P.A., but this time at least he has to see the one doctor that none of us care for. oh well -once I guess). Then he sees cardiologist on the 2nd of July and the cardiac surgeon on the 9th of July. He's snoozing now. Deemed that the pump needed to be turned back on for water in our back (and others). Made that call & a couple of the young guys came, filled the pump & got it running.

Supposed to go to a 50th anniversary party this afternoon. Saw them on the way in today & they want me to stop down and pick up a couple of plates. Chances are dh won't eat much anyway. It's also the golf tournament (rainy!) for here. They're cooking chicken & steaks for that. Some may just "fall" off the grill. Bet dh doesn't eat much of it though. At least not today.

Going to try to snooze myself. Phone rang few minutes ago with the health service. I had called earlier as the visiting nurse is supposed to come tomorrow. She needs to be let in -private campground and gated. I wanted them to know she'll have to call me.

(((Kathryn))) so sorry you're still sick. All that Harriet said makes sense. All the times dh went to ER with an apparent heart ailment they often suspected gall bladder and ran the gamut of tests. But his gastro Dr said last year that his esophagus is probably the culprit as that spasms with all the constrictions of blood vessels etc. the same as the heart. Thus taking nitro helped in that instance as well. Who knew?

MT, you go girl. I agree, getting those walks in on the road is hard. But I also know that dh and I both need it. No more 2-day trips to FL. And we both need to wear compression stockings now for those trips.
