Toot your horn Tuesday

Someone recently reminded us to celebrate what we have accomplished instead of focusing on what is still to be done.

I love the 3 generations coming to care for LO, OK. He has a busy day today!

Dh got a call around 6:30 this a.m. telling him that his first flight was delayed by 2.5 hours, which means he would miss his connecting flight to Japan. SO, first thing this a.m. he was on the phone re-booking his flights. He is now leaving this afternoon, but he will arrive at his destination very late - but the day he intended to arrive. He is only there for 2 days, so he can't afford to get there too late. He isn't keen on this trip, but some of his students are presenting at a conference, one of which is presenting a paper for the first? time, and so dh feels it would be good for him to be there to coach and support them. This conference alternates between meeting in Hawaii and Japan. Next year it will be in Hawaii, and if dh gets papers in it again, I hope to join him - as i did last summer. :)

PODA:
- coffee with dh this morning, since we can
- 10 - pick up Lily
- 11:30 - 3? maybe earlier; at the school tagging marching uniforms
- bank: cashier's check
- other sundry items
- late afternoon nap; I am still sleeping poorly

Off to s2s.

Good morning!

The wind is blowing with gusts to 40 MPH. The high is forecast to be 106. If so, it will be our 2nd day in a row of record breaking temps.

Dh came home early yesterday and we went to look for a mailbox. He had already checked online at what Home Depot and Menards had in stock. We went to HD first and they did not have in stock, what showed online they were suppose to have. So we went to Menards. There was this 18 inch or so thing, that looked like a giant screw. It screws into the ground. It has a formed base and you set the vinyl post over it and bolt it. We bought a white post and the mailbox is black. On the way home, dh commented that it as too hot to mess with it, but then laughed and said we better get used to the heat. Once we were home, he started working on it and it's done. It looks nice, it has a cap for the top of the post and a decorative base.

Originally I was suppose to buy the mailbox. I got a late start and went to the grocery store and WM. I was just ready to head out again and dh called, saying he would leave early and we could go together.

After yesterday, I realized I need to start buying groceries or going to WM, in the morning, due to the heat. Other errands can be done later, but not loading and unloading groceries in the heat.

Dgd16 posted on FB last night that they had walked across the Royal Gorge Bridge. When I was kid we had drove across it. My db cried all the way across. There was a lookout area and so we did that. My brother did not want to drive back across, ever. My parents had a time getting him back in the car. So he cried really hard, all the way back across the bridge.

Dh had intended to take a weekend bike trip to Colorado. There is some kind of ride going on and he wanted to see all the bikes, but not necessarily be in the middle of it. Due to the heat and a tube leak at the plant, he is not sure if he is going or not.

Guess I will eat breakfast, do meds and mow, before it gets too hot.

Sadie, is your dh going to be able to go with you and db? I sure hope so. I'll be praying for this to go well, for you and db.

((Sadie and dbrother)), oh, nerves of course - anyone would. Joining you in your prayers this morning. Calmness and getting something accomplished well, moving forward. Sadie, you have always been such a wise reminder of "doing people things first". (((hugs)))

OKay, yes, I do need to follow through and notice the things I've gotten done before I start criticizing what I haven't! I will think of some tooting of my own horn today. Exactly who among the 3 gen are coming today?

Hmmm... ... swimming .... Our household also has to consider wardrobe for this, though not so charmingly as OKay's. Dd has an invitation to go to a swim park where the water moves vigorously, sprays, and churns, with slides, chutes and such. She is rethinking all her bathing apparel and worrying whether it will hang on! She really wants a one-piece that will let her relax about wardrobe malfunctions. We would have bought one already if we'd found one, but there were only parts, or those so cut-out they might as well be parts. Sigh. So she is now thinking of regular dept stores and even their Misses depts if necessary (which she's never shopped before) in order to find something with enough fabric, something more like a pro swimmer's suit.

Dd33's family comes in Friday and my nephew, dfirstbil's son, marries Saturday. A lot to think about.

Visiting nurse is here. So will write after she leaves.

So far I know that she's calling the cardiologist today when she leaves. Dh's heartbeat is not only elevated, but it is still quite erratic. Regular dr. upped his Metoprolol yesterday (was taking 12.5mg twice a day and now is taking 25mg twice a day). See what happens in the next couple of days. She did tell him that she's detecting quite a bit of fluid in his lower lungs -so will also tell the dr. that when she calls. Quickly detected that he's a "go-go" guy. Oh so true. He does know his limitations however and they're stressing to him that he needs to adhere to those -no matter how he feels.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Toot toot Okay thanks for starting us off in style today! 49*-79*Today winds in our forecast here too. I'm tackling Tues. stuff around here it's trash day and have more sod off the list yea! That's my ex. for this morning.
Finishing up laundry that I started yesterday.
Journal done.
I wanted to check in before granny duty starts today.
Chickens have been fed and released I've been letting them out earlier and have less eggs to show for it so will be considering that but I need to paint in the coop so I needed to clean a bit. ~ Sigh ~

Dgd#3 has the flu and DGD #2 will be with dgson for a while helping him with math. No baby until tomorrow and dgd #3 is going to be at the other granny's so my schedule this week is one I can handle! So working in to my summer schedule is great!

We took dgd#3 with us to pick up the truck dd met us there to get her and then we dropped off the car at a diff. place. The truck did not start today h. had to fiddle with the battery cables they have a bit pour at work and he was late for the early day and unhappy. They had left the 4 wheel drive hubs out on the truck and that was weird no reason for them to even be using that! What's up with that h. was saying they were trying to get more work hoping he would not notice and it cause probs. I'm wondering... all kinds of neg. stuff need to keep that in check.

Running down my gratitude list in my head for today.
Breakfast is done pie is gone.
Got some knitting done.
H. did make it to work today.
We got deli chicken and have planned left overs of that for dinner and I ate less last night.
