Need to get out of here in a little more than an hour for dermatologist appointment this morning. Have been up since 5:30 (ddogs wanting breakfast, and dh not already up and about.) They have been walked, so I'm heading to s2s now. Want to do what I can of a.m. routine before I get away.

Good morning Twins. 5:30 sounds awfully early. Hope the derm. appt. goes well. I do echo Harmony's sentiments from last night - you are a great sister to make sure your dsis is well taken care of.

I need to get to the groc. store today. Dd15 has a dentist appt. at 4 pm and then 3 friends are coming over for Thursday dinner. I haven't yet decided what I'll be making, maybe a new salmon recipe. Since it is wet outside, I think this will be an errands and work inside day for me, which is needed. A work outside day is also needed, but I'm happy to work inside today. There are lots of phone calls, emails, little loose ends I need to tie up here, besides some general housekeeping. I think I'll start a li&t later.

Oh, my goodness! Maia is hyper, tearing through her enclosed area in the house and banging into everything, slipping on the wood floors when she rounds the corner. This after she jumped the barrier to do a #2 in our living room.. That hasn't happened in our house for weeks. It is rainy outside, or at least gray and wet (not raining at the moment). Last time we had a rainy day, she had a lot of accidents in the house; she doesn't like to go outside in the bad weather? She is a lab and loves water, though?? Pepper is wrestling with her now. That is helpful. Pepper doesn't participate in her wild races, though, thank goodness. Lily is sitting at the top of the stairs behind the baby gate watching the dogs wrestle.

Girls have left, ds is showering. I'l bbl.

msg for Lucylee - I once rang the microwave people and was told to boil water with added vanilla for 3 minutes in the microwave to remove the smell from burn food. That helped a lot. I think he also said repeat if necessary.

Another time I burnt something to smoke out the vents, smoke stains up the wall, runny smoke ozzey muck dribbling from inside some spaces. It stunk for so long. think months. I threw the microwave out and didn't try to see if it was ok by using the above process.. I wondered I hadn't set fire to the place. And didn't want to reawaken the smell. It was much worse than the first time.
It will smell more when you boil that vanilla water . I'd make sure to ventilate well, and avoid breathing plasticy fumes - no good for anyone.

Or try contacting customer service - they may suggest something better for melted plastic.

I survived today well. Discussion of contentious stuff. With a power that be ... who we though mistaken. A group issue. Hoping I can get it out of my head, and just send prayers for all concerned .. esp the power that be's.

Another quick note with a status report on Kathryn. She is tied down with IV tubes and unable to work at her computer today.

Finally Kathryn is well enough to be on the surgery list. She should get her gallbladder removed sometime in the next 24-36 hours. They may keep her for an extra day for recovery than usual, due to the complications she had before the surgery.

I think she reported to you already she had a tough couple of days. Thankfully on the phone this morning she sounded brighter, no doubt due to knowing that her treatment is progressing to the next, penultimate, stage.

I know she values all the messages of support she received from you this past week. I thank you for that as well ... it means a lot to me that she has all of you.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I haven't completed AM cards but I have S2S including shampooing hair, took care of furkids needs, watered garden and brought in double handful of fresh veggies, processed veggies to freezer, visited with DH and snuggled LO when he woke up.

Every year is always a struggle to get acclimated to the heat when it first starts. Last night several of us were checking seats at church to find out which ones were in direct line from the a/c duct work blowing cold air. If you got in a "cool" seat it was in the low 90's. Some tried to sit near the stage but quickly found out you will get a shower from the huge fans flowing misting water into the air. Pick you poison - be hot, be wet, be blown so hard your hair will stand up.....or a combination of all.

Ken, thank you for the update. I am relieved that the surgery will be taken care of soon. I will be glad when she is home and continuing her recovery.

I need to get a shower and be ready for the day. The boys are back with dd2, 2 days early. They have tennis lessons today. I am sure that I will be needed to either pick them up or babysit.

Dh had tentatively planned a bike trip to Colorado this weekend. The plant manager has to leave today for a family matter. Dh, him or another guy have to be available at all times. The other guy is on vacation, so no trip. Dh said with the Colorado fires and heat, he was leaning towards not going anyway.

There is a family reunion in Denver in 2 weeks. I really wasn't wanting to go and haven't made hotel reservations. Dh and I have discussed going. He wants to trailer his bike, so he can have some mountain bike time and I can be at the reunion. I have until the 15th to make our reservations. Dd2 has thought about going and taking all 5 kids.

Better hit the shower.
