Day progressing slowly here. I got the a.m .routine done, got dd15 to her appt., have been making sundry phone calls and printing off forms from the internet. In some instances, it seems like the initiation to get something done just results in more paperwork.
Done:
x a.m. routine
x fed animals
x medicated cat
x dd15 to check up appt.
x emailed orchestra parent re: culling shirts; emailed band director to let him know that was happening
x emailed dfriend physics prof. who was distraught last night; received an email back from her and emailed dh re: having lunch/time with her after church on Sunday. It is Father's Day, but she's traveling again in a week.
x made hotel reservations for out trip to IL in July
x emailed shortly w/ a dfriend in the book club, and now have a coffee date with her on the calendar. Her initiation. Yay!
x ordered a compost cart
x called about and then printed out forms to release a medical record.
x tried to make sense of travel insurance for the band's trip to France next spring, for which I registered dd15 a week ago. I need to make some phone calls - punted to next week.
x chatted briefly w/ dfriend B who wanted to get a photo to me and so put it on fb. I told her that works.
The 2 boys did not arrive this afternoon. However, the girls did and several of them are still here.
I'm hunkered down in my bedroom right now. I'm going to go switch laundry and then see what else I can do here. It is after 5, so I'm not sure about more phone calls. The 2 I have left to do are to women in my church. I can make them tomorrow too.
Hi everyone! Last night was great - dinner with friends followed by amusement park. Thanks for the birthday wishes helia, Norma, Harmony, BookSaver, Sunny, lucylee, Lynlee, Ivy, Dove, and Emptynester. I also placed dFosterKitten Destiny in her new home yesterday.
Today started out AWSOMELY!!! I have had a very strong gasoline smell in my car the past week. Usually this means you need a new gas cap. Got one, no help. Called auto repair place. The other possible things were bad: expensive, taking too long to fix, AND if not fixed, potentially explosive! YIPES!!! I got there at 8:00 am, the mechanic looked under the hood and found nothing obvious. After 10 minutes, he came back, holding my DEFECTIVE (but new) GAS CAP. Charged me nada and told me where to get a non-defective gas cap. Total cost including defective cap - less than $30. And my car smells a lot better.
Tonight after payroll is yarn bombing prep, where I will see a friend, probably several. My list from yesterday remains, I won't bore you by repeating it. I MUST add LOL to that.
I lay down on the bed for 45 minutes when I found myself shaking while sitting outside. Apparently I had been "up" for too long (although most of the time I was in the zero gravity chair.)
I was glad I could get out of the bed without too much pain and no help.
Ds made his dinner and I ate another 1/2 serving with him. My tummy is objecting to the addition of more food, but it sure tasted good (just carrots/chicken/teriyaki stir fry, not too spicy.) I'll be trying 4 - 6 small meals a day for the next while.
I just got an email asking me for four Sundays at one of the churches I surveyed in person! Unfortunately, I'm only available for one of the weeks, but it was a great ego booster! And it will be another week I can tell my own church I'm *not* available so to teach them that they have to commit quickly to offers of help and not just assume someone will stick around waiting to hear if they are wanted or not.
I need to unpack. Everything hurts to wear except sundresses so it might be a while before I appear in proper clothes. Not sure how long this stage will last. I know they pumped my abdomen full of air to operate and my tummy is still HUGE. I haven't got on a scale yet - I'll save that for the morning.
Past time for my pain pills, I'm going to have start wearing a timer watch. I've had about 11 glasses of water today. So far, drinking anything else doesn't appeal, and carbonated repels me. I'll see how long that lasts. Maybe if I got off aspartame with the hepatitis, I can get off soft drinks entirely with the gall bladder attack.
DD33's family arrived safely after their trip to the Zoo. DangerBoy was able to get close enough to the baby gorillas to take a photo (children could get closer than adults). They all wore shirts from the same university so that they would match and other adults would quickly be able to recognize the children if they became separated. I thought that was smart.
We went out to eat at the same restaurant at which the boys were so good last time. Again a very good meal out with excellent behavior from the boys.
Helped WonderBoy tie his shoes! He's very good at it - just needs to make his bunny ears closer to the shoe.
The other house looks much better than mine. But perhaps I can rectify that tomorrow. I'll need to set my alarm early to get my hair washed so it will be dry by the time of the wedding.
Other oddities I've managed today - buying the fixings for our lunch tomorrow, and buying 4 water guns for HRH's babysitting. (His special request - gee, wonder what the boys are going to do with Grandpa tomorrow.) Also buying his Father's Day gift with/from dd14. While I'm up in the morning early I'll get that wrapped.
Mr. DeeClutter - what a nice gift/delivery.
Elizabeth - wow, so glad he realized the defective cap was the cause. Yay for the kitty's forever home.
