Hello Everybody! It's especially nice to see Scattered here today, too! Been missing you!
I asked DH about 1 - 1.5 years ago, to clean out the furnace filters. We use our furnace for heat when it's cold (duh!) and we use it for the heat pump, to cool down the house, when it's hot. DH woke up, the house wouldn't cool down, so he investigated. Guess what? We not only had FILTHY furnace filters (which he's now cleaned!) we had ICE inside the furnace where the heat pump works! It was frozen and couldn't work! DH chipped away at the ice, then let the rest melt, and we don't need to pay a service call on a Sunday because DH is so resourceful- he fixed it himself! Now the heat pump's working, I'm a happy camper because the filters got cleaned- at LAST and am thrilled DH did it himself! Now we can keep cool!

Harmony, Cowinkie, & Scattered- WTG ALL of you!

Keeping cool is a good idea around here today Ivy....
I've been having fun on FB with my childhood friends. We've been swapping stories from long ago. I found pictures of many of s when we were in 2-4th grades. Had some good belly laughs too.
Haven eaten breakfast and not its time for lunch..how'd that happen??? oh my...puppies need some lunch too. Keep posting Scattered, we've missed you

Probably did too much and will probably regret it. Will take a rest now on the deck in the zero gravity chair with lots of water and maybe some vitamin C and advil.
Dh needed the extension ladder which was blocked in place by ds's PAX (IKEA) wardrobe (unassembled.) Since the wardrobe has to stay in the garage and the ladder was desperately needed and will be needed throughout the season, I found another spot for the wardrobe by clearing away some old shelves that held bike stuff. I sorted through that, tossed about 1/4 and put the rest in a cupboard in the garage (which I also cleared out to make room.) Found the missing driveway light lightbulbs when I went into the cupboard.
Have half filled a garbage can with stuff that can be tossed and have another stack of stuff to be sold/donated. So there's some progress. I managed to do all that without picking up anything over 5 - 10lbs.
Ds came home (from a 15km Spartan Run up a mountain) and he moved his stuff and carried the ladder to the back yard for his dad who then got the vine out of the soffits. Since I was watching in the back yard, I couldn't help but notice how disgusting the garden that can be seen from the driveway looked so I ended up giving it a once over. Had dh bring the wheelbarrow for me and I have a little garden cart to sit on and scoot along so I weeded that way. Still lots of bending so that might have been a mistake.
I was outside for 90 minutes but only did 1500 steps so that gives you an idea of how little movement I tried to do. Hopefully, I'll mend quickly.
Now for a rest, then prep the food for the street bbq.
Ivy - Hi, missed ya'll too. Kathryn - take care of yourself.
Well, I finally got a virus protection to load and work on DS20's laptop, now running a deep scan. The last LOL is in Bert and running, have a LOL in Ernie running also. Have everything folded that is clean and dried.
Taking a break then I am going to dye my hair and eat something for dinner.
Waving hello to all! SO good to see you again, scattered! Sounds like you're doing very well at your new job!
Today has been a nice lazy Sunday: church, lunch at a favorite downtown restaurant (we sat outside), a LONG nap this afternoon, a phone call to touch base with dbro. re: visit this coming week. Mom and Dad don't have anything else going on that he knows of.
Soon, dh and I will make our weekly 3 minute trek to WF for bread. S and R are at a wedding in Ohio, so they won't be joining us tonight, which is fine. They ended up joining us for leftovers Friday night, right before we left town. Dh had invited them.
Trip to Ohio to see friends was good. the park lodge was a sort of resort, so pretty nice, if a little dated in spots. We went on a short walk to look at the lake Saturday morning and then a hike up to see some water falls Saturday afternoon. I was SO tired by the end of the day, though. I don't sleep as well as I do at home when I'm away, for starters. And then, socializing for hours on end, followed by 3.5 hours of driving - just to socialize some more at small group once back in town was exhausting. I managed not to get too cranky, though, so that was a success. Seeing friends ended up being good. I think being with them non-stop for a couple of days would be difficult, but for 1 day it was very pleasant.
Dd17 is back, I forgot to say that. So, we're back to a family of 5 for the week.
This month feels like just a blur -how can we be to July already?
Dh is really not doing very well. We just took a short jaunt (in golf cart) down to the dumpster. Came back, dh put 4 quarters on dneighbors porch for morning paper, walked across 20', and couldn't climb the 2 steps to our deck. Heard him mutter, "Something's just not right!" Hopefully cardiologist will be able to tell in the morning what's going on now. He plans to tell DS-A that until he gets straightened around he won't be able to do much of anything and a trip is definitely out.
