Hi everyone! Last night, DD11 and I finished the book on interlibrary loan, so I can return it. We made church today, then had Chinese food. When we came home, she wanted to work on sewing a stuffed bear. I showed her how to wind a bobbin, thread a sewing machine, and sew with it. She did well for a while, then got frustrated, so we had snacks and videos. I crocheted on her stuffed dragon. She will be leaving Tuesday morning for Alabama. She will visit XDH's family first, and be in the wedding of XDH and the other woman. Then, she will go to my parents' house. She will be gone for 2 weeks.

When XDH came to pick up DD, he brought two more boxes of stuff from his house, mostly Christmas china. I guess the other woman does not like it. He had kept it all, because his mother had given it to us. Now I have all the dishes from my marriage (except for the pieces that have broken of course). The kittens had a grand time playing in the packing paper, so I left it for a while. I will put it in the recycle bin soon.

Stuff I need to do (in no particular order):
Job search task: empty job search email account
Attach crocheted steering wheel cover to steering wheel
Pay bills
Update Quicken
Transfer money
Put away LOL
Put papers and boxes in recycle bin
Fix tomorrow's lunch
Cat care
Me care

(((Dee and dh))) The not knowing it the hardest.

We had a wonderful time at the bbq. I took 30 minutes for a rest, then slowly worked at getting the food ready. I was bringing a veggie platter, punch and some tostitos & salsa. So it was mainly finding the frozen juices for the punch (an issue because I couldn't lift the bags of frozen meat in the freezer, so dh had to help), and cutting up the veggies.

Everyone brought their own meat and buns, plus something for the salad/dessert tables. The weather was perfect so we had a wonderful time. This is a short street that runs across the centre of the subdivision. Lawn chairs get set up in a giant circle on the road and we all keep switching seats as we change who we are talking with. As it gets dusk, they pull out a portable fire pit and set it up in the middle of the road. The smoke helps keep the bugs away. When it is dark, all the chairs are turned towards the far end of the street where they set off the fireworks. It is all very illegal but we live far enough from any police patrols that we've never had any trouble (the cop that lives across from the firework detonation point has never ratted us out even though he never comes to the party.)

Ds came over for the fireworks, then headed off to work. I've just finished washing up the dishes so we'll head to bed a bit.

I ate a full burger in one sitting and grazed a lot of the evening (and not all on healthy food!) I'm feeling a bit stuffed now as a result. Hope nothing flares up but it is a reminder not to eat this way regularly.

Oh, goodness, Dee! I am so sorry to hear dh had such a rough night -- and still not feeling much better!
(((BIG HUGS))) and prayers that all goes well tomorrow.

Lynlee – hope you get some relief w/the elbow and everything soon, too!
It’s raining here, also, with a little bit of thunder & lightning.

Waving to TwinsKathrynCowinkiescatteredOKayIvyhelia… and Elizabeth!

Waving to EVERYONE ELSE, too!!!

Yesterday, I was extremely lazy. (Kinda felt I had earned it after being the main babysitter during the long day @ the music thing w/dh & ds!) Finally got s2s & went to town late in the afternoon. Made myself queen for a day, I guess… got new car charger for my phone (b/c we discovered the old one had died during our trip Saturday) and bought myself 3 new tops. Then I suggested dinner @ Italian restaurant we’d never tried before and dh agreed! Mmmm… it was sooo good. DH was just sure we’d be waiting forever on a Sat. night, but no – we just walked in and were seated and served almost immediately.
However… I am definitely paying for it today. I had lasagna and ooohhh… my weight is at an all-time high today.

I plan to start July w/my daily and weekly checklists in order and to get my act together for the second half of the year. That’s the plan. I have spent the first six months of this year sorta vicariously in limbo b/c of dparents, retirement plans, recuperating from school, etc… now I’ve got to figure out how to keep myself in some sort of routine.

Tomorrow will be mainly groceries/errand day.
Wednesday, dmom’s doctor’s appointement… 2.5 hour-drive each way… and right now, I am thinking I can handle it on my own, w/out involving dh. Dmom will keep me awake! Part of the reason I fall asleep driving w/dh is b/c (1) we are usually on our way to a ballgame and I have had to wake up earlier than I wanted to and (2) I am having to listen to sports talk radio & ballgames. Dmom will probably be a better conversationalist. I mean, we have no trouble at all staying on the phone for an hour or more on generally a daily basis, so I should be able to manage this drive. And I have got to get over these phobias I have. Sheesh.
Sometime this week, we hope to get our couch back.
Fourth of July… we have no plans, but I expect daunt will be getting us together somewhere.

Now, I need to print out my lists/checklists and go do some exercise.
 And maybe watch Downton Abbey! I have watched the first three episodes of season one and I am sooo hooked!!! How did I miss this for three years??? Oh my goodness, I LOVE IT!!! I can't watch it fast enough... and at the same time, I don't want to finish it too fast. I've got all three seasons, though, so I have to finish before season 4 begins. Do y'all know when that will be?
Tomorrow is another day.

I know it's late but I wanted to ask that y'all please say prayers for the 19 firefighters that were just killed fighting the wildfires here in my area. Most were young and all from the same area where the fires are. It such a horrific event and I feel so much for the men and their family . These guys ... All 21 ... We're in a "hot shot" crew... The special forces of wildfire fighters.
