Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to Twin's Twins!

HRH says he has three words for helia's dd: appointment, appointment, appointment.

As for me, last time I went, I did go to other county as Twin's Mom suggested, admired line , drove away, planned better, drove there next day 45 mins before they opened, with a book to read. Got into (standing outdoors) line and just put up with it all. Had I been one hour early, I think I could have been one of the first ones. So, HRH's idea is probably best. However, it was a good book.

I honestly want to go help Twins' Mom with the job. sigh.
Last month (or more?) when we rented the dumpster for the kennel, my advice here had been shop around. We got a much better price renting from a company in the next county that was NOT affiliated with our local garbage collection services here. (They were a big price.) They do ask for a very clear understanding of where you want the dumpster placed - they are scared someone will get mad and say they should have known something-or-another. I was asked if someone could meet the driver.

Walked approx. 2.2 miles. Then I started getting a little shaky and decided I had to come in and eat something. Having cheese and crackers now. Had a protein/granola bar also.

Tell HRH that unfortunately we can't make appointments for learner's permits at our SOS here in MI, Harriet. Can you do that where you are? One can make appointments to take driving tests, but she's already taken the test as part of her class. When she goes for her driver's license, we will absolutely make an appt. for the driving test, as we have with the other two. I'm not sure that doesn't happen at a separate location, though. . . The written test will be taken as part of her drivers ed class section 2. We can do a lot of things online, but not learner's permit applications.

((Twins)) Aboslutely, you get a gold medal for dealing with that house.

x nearby music store to pick up book club book that dfriend S2 had left there for me after her guitar lesson this morning. . .

Trying not to feel over-socialized at having so many people here for dinner tonight and possibly dfriend A here tomorrow night. I kind of wish dh hadn't invited S and R over; we feed them a lot as it is. Dh suggested I take some time for myself this afternoon and let him cook dinner tonight. Hmmm... except, I need to pick up ds from work across town at rush hour (50 minutes), pick up dh from work, and I need to do laundry, etc. And when dh cooks, he makes only a main dish.

Hello Dear Ladies,

WOW, had a half-written post and it just disappeared. Think I hit the wrong key.

It is sunny and HOT here.

Dsister-inlaw in upstate NY says that area is flooding. The rivers have risen beyond anything expected. Mudslides in the hills.

Praying for them, and grateful we didn't try to do the NY trip this year.

Just found out today that one of our neighbors died yesterday. The wife died and the husband and DH usually have some kind of guy competion going and trade insults back and forth. Something along the lines of a grumpy old men movie. Think I will send a card to him, DH looked sad and shocked when I told him the wife had passed.

I've been feeling more energetic lately. Have done my task for the day and then a little extra and the house is shaping up.

DH and sons are out right now. Dbrother is here but watching TV in his room. Some quiet time for me.

Thanks for the birthday greetings for my kids....Ds is home from work and I think we are all three going out to eat later. I have a 5 p.m. meeting at temple and I'll meet them as soon as I am done. DD is still at camp of course - haven't even heard from her tho I texted her this morning, and I don't even know how many cards she rec'd. I think I said I didn't get mine into the mail until yesterday, but she will get tomorrow through some extra postage. Come to think of it, I haven't heard from her since I sent her the box last week.

Hi everyone! The car is in the shop, the kittens are at the vet, DD11 is en route to Alabama, and all is well. I am tired because I had to get up very early to get kittens across town on time to the vet that works with the animal org. I hope I can get to bed at a reasonable time tonight, but I do have some vitally important things to do: update Quicken and transfer money. I will leave payroll at 4 to pick up the kittens, drop them at the house, then go to the Tuesday knit/crochet group and eat dinner with them. My little rental car will get some exercise today!

Last night, I met some neighbors that I had been waving to. Saturday, I will take one of them up on their offer of coming over and hanging out in his garage and indulge in a wine or beer. Sounds strange, but the garage has been set up as a rec room. We talked about parties while I was there and that inspired me to start getting my house in shape for guests. I decided to do a detailed clean up of my bedroom, because I was afraid my house might be starting to smell like too many cats. Got it thoroughly massively cleaned, only to wake up to two sick cats! Looks like part of my bedroom will probably need to be redone <SIGH>. At least it wasn't the kittens, I did not want to reschedule their neutering.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY X2 TO THE TWINS!

I finished up last minute things to be ready for dgkids. They should have boarded their plane around 4pm from somewhere near Johnson City TN, so a 2 hour flight. We just got a phone call that flight was delayed till 6 pm; must be storms in the area or on flight path.

I did a quick cuop. Helia... The DMV here is usually very busy or no waiting at all depending on the time and day of the month. I know for most transactions they will make appointments.

Dee... I'm so glad to read your dh is starting to feel better. I'm glad the change in meds made the difference!

Twins'... I echo what others have said about gold medals.

We had rain all day yesterday -- sometimes it was just drizzle, sometimes heavy downpour. It also rained hard all night. This morning our back yard was totally flooded, like a big lake several inches deep! No rain so far today, but getting very overcast now and supposed to be 90% chance of thunderstorms later this evening.

I guess we'll get some supper now while waiting to hear from dgd15.

Progress --
-- 18 minutes -- Vacuumed carpet in living areas & master bedroom
-- 30 minutes -- Two 15 minute sessions in study, sorting out box of junk I brought home from school. Put stuff in correct rooms. (Still have a couple of boxes to go, but they are plastic storage boxes sitting in a desk chair. DH doesn't seem too concerned about them, but the other day -- well, a BUNCH of days ago -- he asked how long that box was going to sit in the floor. So I've done one good deed for the day.)

Computer is acting really crazy. Letters don't show up until several seconds after I type them. It does this sometimes.

I'm going to s2s and reboot.
