Update on my date. He is in the triage area waiting to be admitted. His right leg, which was fine a week ago, is now more swollen than his left leg. My brother says he has a "very extended clot" in his right leg. Funny... the "vein specialist" that he saw last Tuesday said he had a varicose vein and it wouldn't be any problem.

My sister is with him and my brother is headed there after he stops at my dad's to get my dad some clothes.

My brother really wants me to go up to the hospital. I asked what my dad felt about what happened with us last week. Apparently my dad is "shocked" that I left.

I really don't want to go but I know I have to at some point and putting it off isn't going to help.

Hugs to everyone here with love and affection as always.

I'd be in tears also from the frustration of it all.
Me too, Twins. In fact I think I am fighting tears of frustration with dh's present condition. Nurse hasn't called as far as I know -at least not yet. DD took dh around in the golf cart with a waste basket and long tongs so he can pick up some scattered trash. Might make him feel better. He has a great deal of concern for the beauty of this campground and seems to get quite frustrated when the 'kids' aren't on top of things like he always has been. Perhaps this will give him a lift of sorts. Plus he is about to go stir crazy after 5 weeks! His mind says "YES!!" and his body says "NO". He's used to just pushing through and now he can't do that. Think I'm anxious for more changes to be made. It's obvious that the present regimen is not working.

Supposed to get my hair cut & permed Wed. afternoon. DD plans to take dgs8 and dh down the road to watch the Alpacas while I'm gone. That way someone will be with him and he'll enjoy that outing.

Don't imagine the surgeon will question anything medical tomorrow -just mainly to check that all he did is ok.
Probably be a good idea if I look up now any directions to his office. I was there 19 years ago, but it may have changed by now -as well as the fact that I just don't remember too well where we went. Now, dh might since he took me there a couple of times.

(CathyS) may you have peace in whatever you decide.

I can't seem to get busy and I think it's a reaction to not working outside the home - the I've got all Day (Week, Month, Summer....) to.do.it syndrome.
Twins I resemble that remark!

I have done a few things but it's lovely out not too cool and I pulled weeds in the chicken yard watching and waiting for today's eggs. It's need to see how one hen seemed to be mentoring one of the young hens they were in the nest box together. It was like here's what you do then after a while the older hen got out after not laying an egg and did the egg song. I found three pullet eggs this morning one is a lovely dark brown color. Had the double yolker for lunch with fried squash from the farmer's mkt.

We just moved 19 miles down the road and will sit here until next Sunday morning. We are near Rapid City, SD, one of my favorite towns. We will renew our driver's licenses and do some sight seeing while we are here.

Ditto my frustration with KIC and Mr. Dee and big hugs for CathyS.

Hoping all will come out as needed soon.

Rested a bit but even with my noise reduction headphones and my mp3 player on, I can hear the conversations and activity in the halls. Keep in mind this is quiet time, not visiting hours, and my door is closed. Yet it is still too noisy to rest.

My sister called.

Ds called from the switchboard. He's back at work now. Dh said he was more tense than usual and then realized that was probably due to his lack of sleep (worked 3 overnights, 8 hours off and then back to work for 8 hours.) Not sure when/if he ate (he went straight to bed when he got home) so I might have dh fetch him something for his dinner time.

My internet connection has gone wonky again so I'm going to have to give up being online.

Just filled dh's med containers and am trying to decipher which ones need new scripts or refills...ones I have to discuss with Dr. on Thursday. Not really sure the (sub) nurse is going to call -still haven't heard from her. Dfriend across the road came over with his BP cuff/etc to take dh's bp and it was much nearer normal. Dfriend is a paid EMT with a nearby fire department & is off till Wed. so plans to monitor dh's bp in the meantime -checking it against ours. Will see what happens tonight and in the morning. Know the surgeon will not be the one to discuss what's happening with meds, etc. tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be a little cooler/less humid so dh can be out a little bit more tomorrow.

Dh wants to go to potluck tonight (I haven't been since I came home in May). Not my favorite activity since it's mostly all carbs (not diabetic friendly I'm afraid). It's the least active of things he'd LIKE to do. One was having me take him to the fire department meeting. He'll be worn out just going to this one. (I too will be glad when this is all NOT my oftentimes topic!)

Looking forward to KIC being back to herself and feeling GOOD as well!

Going to try to find a bowl for my leftover potato salad and hope it will look like "enough".

Have been doing paperwork temple type things and getting some things squared away.

Just spent over 30 min on phone with dd - she is in Atlanta w camp friends and is upset because her unit head gave her a poor evaluation for the first session of camp. I'm trying to get her to go to someone else in the camp (higher up, or trusted) and ask them for coaching for the second session. And for some reason her check wasn't ready (for the first session) because she had apparently failed to fill out the I-9 form - this after the camp had me email a copy of her new drivers license to them "so she could get paid." So I don't know what's going on. I've been worried about her - a feeling that something was wrong. I told her if she didn't talk to someone about it, that I might show up and go all "Mama Bear." Not sure that I would, but I'm worried about her.

Need to go to vet for ddog food.

Love the Mama Bear comment Twins...know exactly how you feel, although my son is doing amazing considering where we were this time last year.

Dee..all the frustration and stress you are feeling reminds me of what my mom when through with my dad. Make sure to find a way to take care of you...seriously...or you'll find yourself ground into the ground. I'm worried about YOU ;)

KIC... feel better

Bookie....I had AARP too, but changed to AAA for the same reasons that Ellly did. I don't mind paying the membership because its nice to know I have roadside help if I need it. Several of my women friends have it for the same reason. I use it when I travel, but thats not very often and sometimes I can get a better discount if I use the travel sites like O biz.

CathyS...I don't blame you for not wanting to go back to see your dad. I didn't want to do it either for the same reasons. However, in thinking it through ... at least for me...I did go back, but under my terms. That at least gave me the felling of control. I kept my visits short, like fifteen minutes, just enough to say hi and bye. And as soon as he showed the first signs of hurtful behavior I left...when he opened his mouth and began his usual stuff, I just looked at him and said ..sorry got to go. Think about this too..If you go, then afterwards no one can say to you you weren't caring. You don't own anyone any other explanation. Hugs to you whatever you decide.

Sadie... we have that shopping option here in my area. However I'm not into sharing all my personal information to the world so would never use it. It's that Child of the 60's and Big Brother thing for me. Maybe some day I'll get over that but by the looks of things, I think I'll stay with my way for a while :D

Nancy.. I resemble your remark to Twin's remark

Thinking often of our dear ((Harriet & her family)) today.

So glad nothing is broken around your elbow, Lynlee. Hope the new sling is feeling comfortable now.

((Kathryn)), how frustrating that your test was canceled! I could cry for you -- you're in pain & miserable & just want to get well & go home, while it seems like this Dr was giving you the runaround this morning.

((Dee)), I've been concerned about the stress you've been under as ((Mr Dee)) rides this BP rollercoaster. Praying things straighten out for him asap.

The Scan & Go at your store sounds interesting, Sadie, but I think you're right that dishonest people will take advantage of it. This sounds like a good reason to rehire the greeters they used to have so they could check receipts & items at the door. My first thought when I read your post was -- think of all the cashiers WM can do without if they completely switch over to this system someday. While it may also be convenient for the customer, I'm guessing the real reason behind this is it will save the company a ton of money to not have to pay all those people.

((Cathy)), don't feel pressured to do anything you don't want to do. You don't have to visit anyone who is abusive to you, even if it is a family member & they are in the hospital. If you go let it be because you choose to.

Also waving ~~~~~ to Elizabeth, Twins, ((OKay)), Helia, Nancy, Harmony, Bookie, Elly, MT,Cowinkie & all who stop by later.

Another hot & humid day here. Can't complain much though, because I know some of you have dealt with triple digit temps. When I took ddog out yesterday I remember wishing wistfully for snow :) .

Cleaned baths, washed towels & did some other misc cleaning this morning before dfriend came for lunch. It is always so good to see her & we had a nice chat. Later I took a nap for the first time in over a week & must have clenched my jaw. It & my molars hurt & I have a dull headache. Tylenol usually works well for me but hasn't kicked in yet. I use a mouthguard at night because of this but don't use it when I nap.

Ddog & dcat must be sound asleep because they are not bugging me for dinner & dh is not home. Ddog will sit & stare to remind us when it is time; dcat can be vocal about it :) .

I'm making some chicken salad wraps on whole wheat tortillas for dinner. Nice & cool on a hot day like this. Debating whether to water tonight or tomorrow morning as the mosquitos were out in force last night.

Hope everyone has a good evening. Sending healing thoughts, prayers & ((hugs)) for all here who need them.

Sending healing vibes to K in C & others who need it.

I've made up a couple more batches of cookie dough and it's in the freezer.
We've had lunch.
Snack time is over as well.
The baby was only here 1/2 hr. her dad picked her up his girl friend is watching her, things have been stirred up in that situation it seems. ~sigh~ I have no idea what the schedule is for her this week.

2nd load of my laundry is in the dryer now so at least I've made some progress.

Trying to get on here again I tried before w/ out success. Glad this post went through. This is the time of year when the tech. co. are all doing updates and stuff before the new school yr. We have the most reliable in the area but I think it's some thing with google or isp ? who knows.
